Very misleading listing and unfortunately a very uncomfortable stay. We booked what was advertised as a “2-bedroom single-floor home” and had no idea we were actually renting the downstairs portion of a much larger house with an occupied apartment directly above us. Had that been clearly disclosed, we absolutely would not have booked it. We could hear people upstairs talking, walking and pounding overhead, including around 2 a.m., which kept us awake.The house also had a strong musty/stale cigarette-smoke smell throughout. The linen closet smelled especially strongly of stale smoke and the towels smelled like it as well, despite the property being listed as smoke-free. There was also dog hair in the bedrooms and on the couch, and it ended up getting all over our belongings.We ended up buying odor spray, paper plates and plastic utensils, and body-cleaning wipes because we were so uncomfortable with the condition of the home. The bathroom had areas that appeared moldy, the kitchen cleanliness was a major turnoff, and there was A/C in only two rooms.The biggest issue for us was the lack of transparency. We thought we were renting a small, private home, not the downstairs unit of an occupied multi-unit property. The actual setup was not at all what we believed we were booking based on the listing and photos. We would have chosen somewhere else had it been clearly disclosed.
