On our arrival the bush camp was not clean. Rubbish bags full still outside the chalet. I was informed that the maintenance man stays in the chalet until his house is built. Smoking in the chalet. His food still in the fridge. Hair still dresser cabinet. The tv was removed and not replaced after i had to ask where is the tv. Most of the time we had no water to drink or bath. 2 of the pools was green. Mari however assisted where she could from the front desk.
First time visit at Thabaledi. For the price you pay (R500.00 per night) definitely not worthwhile for camping. Shower head not working properly (blocked). No plug at wash basin for washing up (requested one with no response) Waste water from basin leaking onto your feet. Bathroom door not opening properly - must lift to open. This place need serious maintenance. Would not recommend especially at the rate for camping. Sorry but I will not go there again!
We arrived only to hear that almost none of the activities advertised on your website are available - no quad bikes, no starlight drives, no sunset cruises. The only thing you had available was the pool and a game drive, which only happens twice a day since you have only 1 vehicle with limited capacity. The aircon in the house was lovely and the house was superficially cleaned, but when we tried using the over, smoke filled the house from all the previous cooking and the over that has probably not been cleaned since it was installed. We had a power outage (not your fault) but you did not care whether any of your guests were feeling safe or had the means to navigate through the darkness - your only response was that you had no candles. All in all Thabaledi will never see me again and I will never recommend it to anyone!
Wow, what a beautiful lodge! The staff were friendly and super helpful. All the facilities are well looked after and in excellent state. The chalet were well equipped. We had a great time staying here and will definitely be back.
The web site gave a different impression of what the property is. Nothing is open any time of the day except reception. No dinner served at night. Had to hunt to find manager to open the pub. Place is certainly run down. Annoying part is that apart from us the only other visitors were a group of hunters and they had to put them alongside us and they partied into the early hours of the morning. Fortunately they were only there for one night. On the positive side the next two nights were what we were expecting a quite bush veld nights
Thabaledi game lodge is a nice cosy place. The entertainment facilities are great. The chalets are very modern but need a good clean. The unit we stayed in had a constant smell of a dirty drain. The unit only comes with limited pots and pans as well as cutlery
The private ablutions was a plus point during the fully booked Easter weekend, although a bench to put your stuff on and some extra hooks in the shower would have been appreciated. No indication was given in the booking confirmation that we should bring our own toilet paper. Maybe consider installing a small bathtub in some ablutions as it is quite difficult to shower the little ones. The pre-booked campsites was not in our favor, although our stand was big enough for our set-up, we would have liked our friends to stand next to us but was not allowed to swap sites. Some of the stands was very small and the overall layout was at some times confusing. A layout of the Lodge was not available. Cellphone signal not very well, only at the main camp. Great idea to record purchases and only paying at the end of your stay. Overall a great campsite, would definitely come again.
As a family with small kids ( 2 and 4 years) we enjoyed our stay tremendous.Facilities is clean and well maintained. The picture as per website is true reflection of the actual accommodation. Will definitely recommend to anyone
The chalets were very clean and spacious. The surroundings were quiet and amazingly peaceful. I think that because of the rocky terrain, there weren't many animals to be seen near the chalets. This is our second visit but not our last. We will definitely be back.
The accomodation was superb however, a few disappointments: 1. The food was looted for those of us who did not have self catering. It was actually not clear from the get go that this was full self catering and we had not brought any food and had to buy the food there, which was limited and not very nice. Breakfast was on the house, thank you, but again, this was not up to standard. Also limited choices. 2. There was no tv in the room. We had to request for one and when it came, it did not show an dtsv channels only the SABC channels - very big disappointment for the kids
