Firstly, Requested a Disable Friendly Room, upon check in the didn't event bother to reply to email sent 2 days prior to ARRIVAL. No Rooms with Bath Tubs. Room was fine under the circumstances. Bathrooms are tiny for a person with disabilities to move around in. Not sufficient bath towels provided. Only 500mb free Wi-Fi per day. Poor Menu at Restaurant. Upon Check out, Requested a Tax Invoice from Lesedi. What a Disappointing experience. He simply could not understand the request. It took him 15 minutes before requesting assistance from a rather arrogant Rexy, the so called front office Manager. Surely I'm not the First one to request a Tax Invoice. One of the other guests that stood at Reception told the So called Front Office Manager that I was told it will take 1 Minute to provide me with a Tax Invoice. I left feeling terribly disappointed. Not a single apology for the frustration caused. Needless to say, I won't be back.
I am quite happy with my stay there. The room is comfortable and clean. What I like best is the location. Since I don't drive, I love the fact that you can walk across the street to an area with many restaurants. I have not seen a Woolworth for years, and there is a Woolworth there with a food department where I buy my breakfast. I chose not to have breakfast in the hotel, so I bought my breakfast from woolworth. Worked out great.
I can not fault the hotel on cleanliness or check in speed, but i can fault it on everything else. 1) 500 Mb internet allowance data per day. (The rest of the world gives unlimited access) 2) Breakfast is separate cost at 155 rand. I get a perfectly good top of the menu breakfast at the Spur or Dros for 65 rand. (Steak, Bacon, Sausage, 2 fried eggs, toast, mushrooms, beans, fried tomato, jams and coffee) 3)I asked for a plate and eating utensils and had to fetch and carry them to my room. My biggest gripe here is the data allowance, which does not nearly suffice for a business man that has to send large files to his employer. The bottom line is that while this hotel is clean and the staff are friendly, i wonder if it is worth the while staying here, especially the data allowance does not do it for me. PS: The Brightwater commons mall right next to the hotel is dead to say the least. I doubt that 10 per cent of the shops are still trading. If you like ghost towns, then this is you next destination
Stayed here for a night, Walking distance to Waterfront Mall and also near Randburg CBD. Its the best thing in Randburg and good value for money. Not pricey and good for people who want to conduct business in the vicinity of randburg or sandton
Bit out of town but that's not necessarily a bad thing. (20 min from airport in own car, and you need a car if staying here) Secure car parking with manned gate 24/7. Reception was quick and efficient. The hotel interior is bit of a 60's revival and could do with some updating to bring it into the 21st century. Lift works well but tucked away around the corner. The room was of a reasonable size but once more badly needed an update. The a/c was deplorable and recirculated the air like a fan and made twice as much noise. The temperature outside was fairly cool so it was not an issue but had it been hot they would have known all about it. Wi Fi bit hit and miss at times but worked extremely well in the foyer. Room keeping very good, sheets changed each day, Never tried the breakfast as they charged 150 each and Spurs 5 min up road in shopping center are about 47R for a very good b'fast. Hotel is good for very short stay but looks much better in photos than reality.
Accustomed to staying in self catering style Mercure Hotels in Nelspruit and Johannesburg, only after reserving the Randenburg Hotel I discovered that it didn't follow the same style. I also found the rooms a bit small. Otherwise the stay in the Hotel was quite agreeable and the staff made a great effort to make us feel at home.
Hi, I have just stayed at this hotel for 2 days. Breakfast was good with friendly staff. The overall impression of the hotel was that it is a little dark. Maybe a bit dated. Looks lovely from outside. The carpet in my room was stained quite badly.Bathroom is newly renovated with good lighting and mirrors. Towels were nice and clean and so was the bedding. Size of bedroom was not to bad, with barfridge and kettle.
We stayed at this property for 3 nights, whenin Joburg. The hotel is a beautiful and clean property, very well maintained! The staff is very very helpful, thats a special mention! My friend forgot his wallet on the breakfast table and he remembered that while we were out for our Suncity visit, he really went mad as it had all his cards, money, etc etc etc! When we called the reception to check with them, with almost no expectation of getting the wallet, the staff calmed us down saying that they have found it and its kept in their safe and they would hand it over as we get back. After we returned back from Suncity, I must say, the wallet promptly handed to us was unhampered and not a single cent was missing!! Kudos to the staff :) Well coming back to the hotel, the lobby is beautiful and minimalistic. The rooms are comfortable uptrend and clean! The breakfast spread can be better though, but its about sufficient. I will definitely stay here again! A great great value for money deal.
I stayed here in order for me to be close to the airport since I was flying the next day. The airport is about 30 min with a lot of places to dine around. Not too far from number of malls such as The Zone in Rosebank and Sandton city and the convention center and Nelson Mandela Square
This hotel is well priced and ideally located for access to the Gautrain bus and Sandton Station. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and accommodating. My one problem i had was that there was no hot water in the bathroom washbasin, even though the shower had hot water, this might have been a problem unique to my room though. If you expect free wifi, you will get it, but they only allow you 250Mb per day which is disgusting. I travel the world extensively and every country i visit the hotels grant you unlimited WiFi access Breakfast will cost you an extra R150.00 or 10 Euro which i feel is totally exorbitant since you can get a fantastic breakfast at the Spur in the shopping center located 5 minutes walk away for R60.00 or 4 Euro. Overall i was happy and would stay there again should the need arise.
