The hotel has excellent security, great breakfast and ideally located close to freeway. Their customer service is excellent and its the ideal place to be if you are on business. The rooms have excellent views of the golf course nearby with excellent wifi network. Their prices are relatively cheap
Was very impressed, only checked in at 23:15 but was greeted with a friendly host. My Invoice was ready, wifi voucher as I'm a club member was handed to me, and I was a winner in a lucky draw of 1000 club points. Helps when your treated well and greeted with a smile.
This was what one would expect, good price, and not too many frills while still having what you need. Rooms were bigger than expected and well laid out. Check in was quick and staff very efficient and friendly. Wi fi was limited if not a club member (free of charge). Breakfast was limited, but had enough to get you going. Good place to stay as it is central and easy enough to get to.
Very basic hotel. Check in is very efficient. Corridors have a strange feel to it. Wasn't expecting much from this hotel as it is express. However was a bit better than expected. Service is good. No suites in this hotel so no possibility of an upgrade
The Holiday Inn Express Sandton-Woodmead located in a business area and very convenient to reach the office which based in the park as well (walking distance) . The staff is very friendly and doing best efforts answer all your needs and requests. I must mention Mr. Golden Nkwanyana who is the assistant General manager. He is investing all necessary endeavours to assist and support and make your stay very pleasant.
Stayed for 5 nights recently and enjoyed my stay. It's a 3 star hotel but delivers a very good service. The hotel doesn't try to be something it's not. The value proposition is excellent. The location may seem a little odd as it is within an office Park but it's conveniently located for highway access to Sandton and travel time is minimal so good for business travellers. The room is well sized. Perhaps the bed could be one size bigger though as it's a double bed. There is a desk and work chair, a lounge chair, coffee station, safe, hair dryer and hanging and packing space for clothing. Bathroom has necessary goods. Staff are friendly and hotel is kept in a good condition. Breakfast is good without being expansive. Muesli and cereals with yoghurt, fresh fruit, pastries and cold meats as well as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. Juices, teas and coffee are beverage options. There is WiFi but limited to 100mb per day. Overall the hotel provides everything you may need for a business trip or holiday stay as you'll be on the move. A few things that would be nice are increased WiFi limit and more dstv channels. Returning again in August and looking forward to it.
The hotel by itself is quite a decent one, living up to the standards one would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The only challenge is that this property is good for folks coming for nearby businesses, otherwise it's really in the middle of nowhere. With that said, Uber cars are plentiful in Joburg area and getting one to this hotel was never a challenge. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant on their property, but they have a mediterranean restaurant adjacent to the hotel and easily accessible. Furthermore, there are plenty of area restaurants that deliver, so you needn't go hungry. The rooms are quite spacious and one wonders why they wouldn't put a cupboard in the room. The open style hanger rods are something one would expect in a small city property where rooms are tiny, but there is plentiful space in the rooms at this suburban location. So, just a pure architectural/interior design flaw that one has to overlook. The lighting in the room was not adequate and specially at the entrance where you would keep your luggage and hang your clothes. It is seriously suggested for the hotel to address this aspect and make the room much more appealing to the traveler.
It was one of the worst experience of my travel life. I had a confirmed booking. They knew I will be coming late. They dont have any restaurant attached with the hotel, so no room service. If you are reaching late for some reason - you have to starve, as no food available for you. Worst was, when I asked for drinking water, they said, we dont have any and you have to use the vending machine. Foreign country - middle of the night - no coins in your pocket - ok so you dont get to drink any water. Welcome to Holiday Inn Express. Not over yet - as they dont have any restaurant of their own, they will give you food voucher (when you book dinner with the hotel, which my company did. The hotel take the charge the dinner money and give you these vouchers)- which you can ask for food delivery - Listen to this, all this food delivery guys - will charge you a good amount of service charge. I requested the client - this hotel - please never again.
This is probably the best holiday inn express I have been to in South Africa it's in a very secure compound near the woodmead mall and the facilities and room where better than I had expected I will ne back soon l
It was OK Nothing to write home about The rooms are small, no cupboard to put your clothes in, no drawer to keep your toiletries, you literally have to live out of your suitcase. Out of the 3 wall plugs, only 1 was working in the room. The mirror is far away from the plug points, so setting your hair is a mission. The breakfast has a very small offering, so I would prefer that the very few items are prepared well. They have a beverage machine, that serves 90% water and very little of anything else.
