The room was beautifully done unfortunately there are not wall sockets.

Short drive to the airport, large comfy rooms, decent breakfast. Small basic gym, potentially long walks to your room as its quite a big hotel. I was lucky checking out as there was no queue but checking in took ages as the airport bus arrived just before me.

Excellent breakfast w/all good quality items (perfect croissants, smoked salmon, lychee juice, many jams/jellies, many options of eggs made individually upon request, two types of sausages, etc). Good quality sheets and napkins, pool towels available on each recliner, lots of good fabrics on decoration, good TV channels w/good movies, cozy environment, attentive professional personnel - all shows that this property belongs to a professional and experienced chain of hotels - congratulations, highly recommend it.

Solid clean hotel. Just make sure you know which one you are in, there is one attached to airport and this one on sandvale rd (just 2km or about a 10min shuttle ride away) by the airport.

Our stay at the City Lodge was fine - hotel is adequate and clean, but it was a disappointment to not be at the City Lodge at the Airport, as the description stated. The City Lodge there is run by a different managment team so they could not honor our pre-paid res. The beauty of the City Lodge at OR Tambo Airport is you can walk there in 5 mins from Terminal, and they are even kind enough to store your bags as you travel on safari and then return to Jberg. This hotel was a 10-15 mins taxi ride.

Good place to spend the evening on our way out of Jo'burg. Shuttle to hotel was fairly prompt, and the drive to the hotel was short. Pleasant hotel staff, clean place, very nice and comfortable rooms.

This hotel is a good choice for a one night stay traveling from the US to other points in Africa as is often needed. The hotel has an airport shuttle (7 min drive) but is not free even though it is advertized as free by the airport information desk. Cost is same as a cab. Having no elevator or "lift" was difficult since we had to carry 3 weeks worth of luggage upstairs ourselves to our room. After a 22 hour set of flights we barely had the energy for this. Hotel itself was nice, food/bar nice also.

I had no idea where the shuttle would be at the airport and didn't have to find it. However, everything else was just great, I wish I could have stayed longer.

I've been staying at the Airport City Lodge since the 80s and the accommodation and service are consistently good. The staff are professional and clearly well trained. Lately, they provide light meals in the evenings which is great for travellers who do not want to step out to look for a place to eat in the evening. The quality of the food and presentation are very good. Rooms are clean and well appointed and the hospitality tray is a plus when in need of a quiet cup of tea/coffee!

When we checked in about 10:30 P.M. we requested a very early wake-up call because of our next flight. That request was written on the palm of a hand of the employee. He was still on duty early the next morning; when questioned about the missing call he looked at his hand and indicated the request had gone no farther. He did give us free transportation to the airport (about $11). Thank goodness I set my alarm clock. Not providing a wakeup call at an airport hotel lowered my higher opinion based on a great hot breakfast.

Hotel staff members were courteous. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was a full English breakfast and the food was excellent.

Easy to check in and out. Comfortable bed. Minor point: I prefer plastic drinking glasses to glass ones for more certainty about cleanliness. Still, the glass cups looked clean.

City Lodge's location near the Jo'berg airport is great for overnights where you can sleep off a long international flight, or get ready for an early flight the next day. My work colleague recently described the City Lodge as a "four star" hotel on a European scale; which I translate as great food, decor and service, with perhaps smaller rooms than an American 4 star hotel might offer. Overall, for the low price, this hotel is a great value -- I'd highly recommend it if you need a good airport hotel in South Africa.

We were there only to sleep. The hotel was gorgeous--very modern but very African at the same time. The full buffet breakfast was awesome. Transfer to and from the airport was easy and went off without a problem.

GRAET VALUE FOR MONEY As a US visitor to South Africa I was very impressed with the overall 'performance' of this airport hotel. The room was perfect, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very satisfying and varied, with a cook station for eggs, bacon sausage etc., prepared as per your taste.
