This is my third visit to the Herbert Samuel Hotel in two years. It is a fairly new hotel and the location is top notch, convenient to everything, Ben Yehuda St., the light rail, the Old City, Machana Yehuda market, and more. The hotel is also quiet given it's close proximity to Ben Yehuda St. The hotel is clean, the staff are helpful. The hotel also has an indoor pool and spa area that is so relaxing and peaceful. The rooftop restaurant is beautiful with floor to ceiling windows providing views from every direction. The breakfast is AMAZING and so plentiful! The food is so fresh, the staff kept bringing food out till closing time. I looked forward every morning to my breakfast, We also had Shabbas dinner there and as good as the breakfasts are, I can say the same about the dinner. It was the same buffet style, about $65 per person which was reasonable for the amount and quality of the food that was provided. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The lobby was nice to seat in and offered a bar that also served food. I highly recommend the Herbert Samuel next time you are in Jerusalem!

Room cleaning was unacceptable; got serviced first day and none the next five days. Ran out of toilet paper, shampoo, water, coffee. Staff stopped at our room to drop off chocolates at night but never cleaned or changed towels or bed sheets. Swimming pool water dirty and drained smelled awful. Not 5 star service or facilities.

Great service, location, and rooms ...maybe the best hotel in Jerusalem!

Room size and comfort well below acceptable level.

The central position and its breakfast were good and the pool

The room was good sized enough to hold a king sized bed with plenty of room left over. The bed was comfortable, the shower in the bathroom was as big as three quarters of the bathroom in my tiny condo back home. Higher ceilings, too! there's a lovely indoor pool, spa & fitness room. Every day there was plenty of staff at the front desk who handled every request quickly and efficiently. The breakfast room on the 11th floor is very large and well decorated, with glass walls all around so people can sit at tables and look out on the city, also with plenty of staff who see to it that food is well stocked and ask guests if they need anything, like more coffee or orange juice. There was a large choice of food every day, mostly of Middle East style foods with a good choice of hot and cold foods. The only hiccup I had was not the fault of the hotel. I had booked my flight home on Yom Kippur, not knowing how they celebrate this high holiday in Israel. I knew stores, banks and government offices would be closed, like in the USA, but I didn't know that the entire country closes for the day. No traffic allowed (at least in Jerusalem), no public transit, no taxis, no day tours going anywhere, and even the airport and TV stations shut down for the day. I went down to the front desk to ask for a late check out on Yom Kippur and they told me I could stay in the room until 8 pm, when Yom Kippur ends & my ride to the airport would arrive. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff is not well trained. The only high point is the breakfast. Very good. The check in check out, valet etc is dismal. They forced an 11am check out even when we asked for one hour later check out (for good reason) only to keep us waiting over an hour to get car in Lobby with my 82 yr old dad not feeling well. Second we all felt very sick from the perfumes in the room. I had a full blown asthma attack and felt better an hour after driving away. The gentlemen who introduced himself as concierge and took my car keys wasn’t around after that. There is no concierge. We asked to change money urgently and they basicsllly only had 100 NIS (30 dollars). Won’t be returning. Had a better experience last year.

Everything was lovely. Breakfasts were particularly enjoyable.

This is a great hotel. Centrally located, friendly staff, clean/nice rooms, delicious breakfast, warm indoor swimming pool. One negative is that they do not have parking on site. Valet is around $42 or a parking lot approximately a 5min walk which is around $25.

Loved it. Recommend it highly. In the heart of Jerusalem.

The stay was very comfortable. The room was clean and quite luxurious. Definitely met my expectations.

Beautiful hotel, top location and great service to boot! I highly recommend getting the Deluxe Room to enjoy the luxurious and gigantic shower/sauna exerience! (FYI: the regular, standard rooms are very small and the pictures are not advertised on their website. They do not match up to those pictures advertised and displayed on their website, those are the deluxe rooms! Therefore, this is a warning to all those booking the standard room!)

This was my first time with my husband at the hotel. I picked this hotel because of the indoor pool. I didn't know that there wasn't parking and we would either pay a lot for valet or have to pay a meter and worry about getting a ticket. We arrived the day before Yom Hazikaron and they told me that the pool is closed. After expressing my disappointment they said I could stay an extra couple of hours till 1:00 in the room the following day but we also already had some plans the next day. They told me they had a room with a great view. We got to the room and the only view we had was the big air conditioners on the roof of the next building. We called and they said they could move us but we would need to wait. They gave us free wine in our room and the staff was sweet but I Do Not want to go to this hotel again. I would sooner go to an isrotel for the same price.

Excellent location, newly renovated, beautiful design, amazing breakfast with a view and sunshine! Strongly recommend to all my friends and family. Can't wait to come back!

The Herbert Samuel is a great hotel in Jerusalem.

The hotel facilities are beautiful, from the rooms to the pool area, and the breakfast is amazing! However, the staff is terrible and should be replaced in entirety or all should be placed in mandatory classes on providing good customer service, which is essential in the hospitality industry. I thought many of the issues were because the hotel is new, but then I learned this is their second hotel, which is confusing...

Great hotel in central Jerusalem, along Ben Yehuda Street, a short walk to the old city and other major sites.
