We were meant to visit in July of this year but had to cancel due to a clash that we couldn't get out of, this was our fault and something that wasn't apparent at the time of booking. The payment for the first night was taken immediately, 12 days later and we are still waiting for the refund despite being promised it would be refunded in "the following days". Please be careful should you need to change your visit. PS, the island is lovely, clean, great weather etc. but behaviours like this can tend to make you think twice about rebooking with this hotel... We stayed in a Waterfront hotel last time and it was faultless if that helps your decision.
Overall a very good stay in the Hampshire. The owner was very pleasant and welcomed us and made conversation. Even made the effort to see if there was any crab left on the menu. The rooms were basic but good. Only slight down side the rooms got unbelievably hot! Had to leave my room on the Friday afternoon because heat in there was unbearable that's the only bad point. The breakfast was good, had to ask the manager numerous times to stock up the buffet and for fresh items but this was sorted quickly should off kept on top but wasn't a issue. The pool was open early was suppose to be May but this being open helped because the weather got to 22C! The Bar staff were all very good and make a few jokes which is good. Some reception staff were not pleasant but some were brilliant. Could do with a cider on draft maybe Thatchers? The Tvs in the rooms could do which a slight size upgrade? The Evening menu was small but the food was amazing, The homemade beef burger and the sticky toffee pudding was the best meal off the trip. Overall a good 8/10 stay and would return but Air Conditioning is key in summer!
I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of March. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main shop/entertainment area in St Helier. It has the bonus of free parking which was a real plus. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good with a choice cereals and a good quality cooked breakfast. The hotel has an outside pool but it does not open until May. This was well publicised before we travelled. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
Stayed here for 4 nights and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Friendly staff but above all some fantastic meals from their a la carte evening meal - absolutely delicious. Breakfast good too. The hotel is a short walk from the town. Really enjoyed our stay.
Followed the hotel on twitter and kind of expected some acknowledgment but - nothing. It seems they're not active or engaging. Taxi from the hotel was £16.00. Warm welcome when we got here, room very nice and comfy, broken hook in the bathroom but no biggy! View from the window not great but the room was bright, light and airy with a fair sized bathroom. Floodlight from the adjacent Co-Op kept the room illuminated throughout the nights and the drapes couldn't be pulled as they were purely decoration - need blackout blind not pretty Venetians! There was also a fair amount of early morning noise and crashing from the back of the Co-Op. Barman could've smiled a little, and darts/golf on the tv was not conducive to the atmosphere, no one was watching it anyway - except perhaps the barman????? Again at breakfast the attention of the staff was elsewhere, and communications were poor. We weren't shown to a table and we weren't invited to help ourselves at the buffet. A meet and greet would have been nice at least for our first morning. Twice we had to ask for coffee and we were slightly put out that the table for two next to us were given more toast than we were. On the whole the breakfast buffet was good but I would have liked to have had the option of having more than the one egg each we had because they didn't keep the trays filled up. Would definitely return, these were just little gripes that they need to work on. Many thanks to everyone. Restaurant recommendations: Soy Sushi & Noodle Bar; Quayside Restaurant; Bar & Canteen.
Just returned from a 3 day break in Jersey, visited this hotel and have to say what a gem. Clean and tidy, food was top notch , wonderful bar and great staff. We were well looked after and everybody was friendly. Special thanks to restaurant and bar staff, and the room was super and clean. Well done Hampshire, we will be back!!
Am a local person but appreciate a nice bath in a nice hotel, this hotel doesn't disappoint, welcoming staff, lovely clean huge room, can't believe it isn't busy, homely dining room and bar area and the meal was sublime, I don't normally do puds but wow! See pic, I recommend for locals and holiday makers! 😃
My two colleagues and I stayed here for one night and we all slept well. This in itself is unusual as staying anywhere other than what we know can make the body to be on alert. The hotel is clean, quiet and has comfortable beds. My shower didn't work but the deep bath quickly filled and was lovely. It walking distance from the centre and to get there in a taxi from the airport costs around £16 and that's including a tip. Good breakfast too. Tea and coffee in the room, though I couldn't find myself milk, I'm sure staff would have provided it had I asked. Staff were great, moved me out of room near road to a room at the rear.
Just returned from weekend stay at the Hampshire with a group of friends. All our rooms were large, clean and bright and we were kindly upgraded as the hotel was quiet as we expected being a winter break. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful bar / lounge area. Friendly staff. Very reasonably priced and within a short walk of the town centre. We all agreed we would return but maybe in the summer months when we could make use of the outdoor pool area. Many thanks.
Just stayed 3 nights and has like previous stays the hotel did not disappoint. Breakfast is excellent and the staff are friendly and have plenty of suggestions to what to see on the island. The rooms are clean and spacey. Upon arrival was informed that there were Xmas partys in the hotel so was upgraded to a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet.
