Great service and location. We would stay there again on our next trip.

The hotel was very nice and clean and the staff was helpful. The only thing was the location. its kind of on the wrong side of the road on a strange access road. Which makes it really easy to miss it!! Also while it looks like there are lots of restaurants nearby...the way the traffic pattern works it's a huge pain to get across the highway. The nj transit bus station was a bit of a walk but not on the greatest sidewalk situation(read: no sidewalks!) you also had to be vigilant to push the button to get the bus to stop RIGHT off bc it's the first stop. Thankfully the hotel staff gave us a paper telling us that ! Definitely ask for that ! It's a good price but I would probably pay a bit more to stay accros the street with all the restaurants and such. All and all a good place and a quiet safe location.

If looking to save money on your trip to NYC, this is the way to do it. Price is half of what you pay in the city (and better!). Location is directly across the river, short 20 minute trip (if that) depending on the Lincoln Tunnel traffic. Hotel is clean, staff (for the most part) is friendly and accommodating. Parking is free. The breakfast is a bit pricey if your not looking for a hot breakfast; as you pay the same for an omelette, bacon, potatoes et al, that you would for OJ and a bowl of cereal! (which is just STUPID) but aside from that great stay!

this was a great stay, compared to the prices in NYC over the 911 weekend. the New Jersey bus line took us straight into New York City. From there we took subway and walk. we had fresh towels clean sheets and a comfortable room. highly recommended

We stayed for three nights while visiting family in NYC. This is our third stay at this hotel - the location is very convenient for access to the city. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and customer service is excellent. The only "negative" is very tricky access to the hotel via a tiny driveway that isn't well marked. That said, once you learn how to get there, it's great place to stay.

Great hotel for visiting NYC without having to pay Manhattan rates. I found this hotel to be a quiet refuge from which to stage visits to the big apple. The hotel comes with all the regular amenities of a Hilton and the rooms are spacious.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting NYC. The room, lobby and common areas were clean and very nice. Ample, free parking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not free, but was quite good. We have stayed at many hotels, and this was a great value. Only concern was the entrance to the hotel - it is hard to see and not well marked. If you miss it, it is a long way back. Once you pass the hotel exit drive, slow down and be prepared for the small entrance drive! Overall, exceeded our expectations.

The hotel was clean. The staff was helpful. The indoor pool/spa was amazing. The location was good, but it was confusing to get to the hotel. Overall it was a very nice hotel.

The kids loved the swimming pool. After swimming, we ordered pizza and watched a movie. We had a nice time.

We have grandchildren in Hoboken,NJ and have always stayed at another hotel. We were very pleased with the cleaniness of the hotel and the ammenities. It was fun for the grandchildren to go swimming in the indoor pool.

The put me in a smoking room. I did not think hotel reservations defaulted to a smoking room but aparently they do. the front desk manager was relauctant to switch my rooms. He found a non smoking and placed me in that ( I would have canceled if he could not get me in one). I thought the room had a High Def TV but it was an old model TV. I did not really care about that but I still thought to mention it. The continental breakfast was not included. I could have stayed down the street at La Quinta Inn and had a cheaper but just as nice room along with free breakfast. I had to pay 8.50 for some cereal and a waffle (at la Quinta eggs come with breakfast.. here it was a 3$ upcharge). I did not know the price or that I had to pay for breakfast until I overheard the waitress tell other guests about the costs. I would not stay at this hotel again. I expected more from Hilton.

Overall the hotel was very good and the staff helpful. The one bad thing is that the hotel address listed DOES NOT WORK in a GPS or in Mapquest. It took us an additional 30 minutes to get to the parking lot. We had to call the hotel front desk and then use the address for a nearby Home Depot to get close and then follow oral directions into the hotel - be careful!!!

Housekeeping knocked and entered room twice in the am while we were still sleeping almost trying to kick us out. Also check-in was very rude. Confusing because they tell you there is a "shuttle" however it is the NJ transit which costs 3.20 a person one way. Also they explain to you in a brochure when you get to the hotel what stop you are suppose to ask for to get dropped off by the bus to get to the hotel if you arrive in the city. However, clearly this does not help and the NJ transit is not helpful at all either. You are suppose to request to get off at the best buy in secaucus walk to the home depot and it is right behind it. (BTW none of this explained by driver or hotel.) However we went to dinner at the Chart House and I have to say it made up for everything else that had occured in the evening dealing with the hotel. Sites in NY are clearly amazing as well coming from someone that has never been to the city.

continential breakfast was nice. room was neat and clean. staff was friendly if you pass hotel its a long way to turn around

great time, perfect location, clean, quiet

The room was exactly as described, no surprises, housekeeping did a very good job each day. The staff was the best I have ever encountered. Very friendly and helpful. I go to this area about once every year and a half to two years, my first choice for hotel was not available, I decided to try this one, very glad I did, I will definitely stay again.

When we first arrived at the hotel, I was immediately greeted and asked if I was checking in. I was 20 minutes early for check in and was worried they wouldn't be able to check us in yet. She said it wouldn't be a problem and quickly assisted me in getting my room key. The parking garage was located just a few steps from the entrance and it wasn't difficult at all finding a parking space. When we arrived in the room we noticed how spotless it was. I also really enjoyed the special features of the room. The beds had adjustable knobs to change from firm to soft, and there was mention of the hotel attempting at going green. There were facts about the amount of water it takes to wash towels and sheets and how we could help the staff reduce these costs. The whirlpool in the bedroom was out of this world. It felt great after a long day out sight seeing in New York. While it was a quiet and restful time spent there, the air conditioner in the room was extremely loud. The first night we had it on Auto and it would kick on and wake us up in the middle of the night. The second night, we just braved the heat and slept with it off. Another issue was the bathroom door. It was a heavy door and would slam shut if you didn't hold the door as you were shutting it. In the middle of the night if you have to go to the bathroom and forget about this, expect for it to scare you wide awake! We tried everything we could think of to make it stop, but to no avail. This hotel is mere minutes from New York City which is great! We would just hope on the highway and were in the city. There's also a shopping center across the highway which is convenient.

The reason we chose this hotel was because it said it had bus service to and from NYC from the front of the hotel. This is only half true. The bus did pick you up from in front of the hotel, however, we found out at check-in that it dropped you 1/4 of a mile from hotel on the trip back. The walk back to the hotel was through desolate areas, and in some areas there were not even paved walkways. This was not safe or appropriate for single travelers or people with children. I contacted customer service through the Hilton chains and am yet to recieve a response. When I brought this up to hotel management their response was short and rude.

We were given a handicapped room. My wife had a bad experience with her dad aging and dying badly handicapped. When we asked for a room change, the lady at the desk said the hotel if full.. We were to take what we got. The parking garage was almost empty. Full? Full of bull. Pete

We had a two-night stay to visit friends who lived in the area. The most important issue to us when searching for a hotel is CLEANLINESS. This hotel met that criteria. It was immaculate and comfortable. My only criticism was the king size bed was VERY firm, almost to the point of being hard. I like a firm matress but this was on a whole other scale! A word of caution on entering the parking lot from the street: be very careful as the street entrance is marked but not with arrows and it would be very easy to bypass the entrance and continue back out onto the New Jersey Turnpike. The price was great for the value we received. There were less expensive hotels in the areas [...] but I did not want to take a chance on them not being clean enough. The HGI had a good reputation and this hotel lived up to it!
