This is a good place to stay when you need some room (had our two young adult children with us and so each of them getting their own room was a bonus) and you don’t mind busing over to the city. The hosts were very responsive, but at the time we visited, early January, the place needed some TLC. All the beds are on the firm side, which worked well for me, but not everyone in our party. The bus is super close by and very convenient. It takes you straight into the Port Authority bus depot in NYC. You can use your phone/cc and swipe to pay on the way in directly on the bus. I think with some attention, this would be 5 stars.

The apartment was clean, well-stocked, and conveniently located—just a short walk from a great little corner store, a charming café, and the bus stop into NYC. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, though the living area felt a bit tight, and the wooden table and sofa could be more inviting. Parking for luggage drop-off was a bit confusing, despite the host’s efforts to assist. During a windstorm, the windows and their locks rattled noticeably, which may need attention. Overall, a solid stay with a few quirks worth noting.

A group of ladies from Europe and Canada chose this facility because of its size, affordability, and accessibility to the bus or boat service to Manhattan. The walk to the bus station takes around 3 minutes, and the ferry ride lasts about 10 minutes. Both methods are similarly convenient, with the bus being the less expensive option. The owners were fantastic; they addressed any queries we had right away and followed up via email if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this house for families or groups of people that enjoy a calm and tranquil environment. Thank you to JD and Abby for their gracious shopping and sightseeing advice, which we all took and enjoyed. Would definitely return.

This was a nice place. I enjoyed the cleanliness of the home and the easy access to NYC. It can stand improvements in the bath area, vents, and stove. Overall a good place to stay with a large group

Our stay was wonderful. The place is clean and wonderfully located in a safe neighborhood , approximately one block from a magnificent view of the city. There is easy transportation via the bus or ferry into the city, though the bus is the easiest. And the owners are the most responsive VRBO hosts I’ve ever worked with. I would return in the future given the opportunity.

The unit was as advertised. It was clean, well equipped, and very convenient to our visits to NYC. We rented a car and the connected garage simplified travel plans. The location was very close to stores, coffee and food. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place for a weekend getaway

This was a last minute rental because our other rental fell through. I'm am so glad it did. Had I seen this place originally, I would have chosen it. We were traveling to the area to visit Six Flags and to visit NYC. It was centrally located to both in NJ. We weren't familiar with the area but this was perfect. Stay across the river in the quieter Jersey and being 15 minutes from NYC was so much better than staying in the noisy city. The 3 bedrooms and 2 baths were spacious for the 4 of us. The place looked it had recently remodeled. It had everything we needed. The owners were so accommodating and they made sure we had everything we needed. We definitely would stay here again.

Clean & safe

The property was very clean. The neighborhood felt safe. The convenience to NYC was exactly what we expected. The host was very attentive and responded quickly to my text. It was great having 2 full baths! The finishing touches could be improved. The two bedrooms closest to the street had inadequate curtains, with the street lights. There were no extra blankets. All the beds were very firm. It would have been helpful to have a map / book showing where to the bus stop to NYC was located, and the parking garage(s) near by, and local restaurants. The comfort level could be brought up a notch, but overall, for a quick weekend to the City it was a reasonable affordable, convenient place to stay.
