Set nestled on one side of the islands the Shilla is a great family destination. The rooms face either the golf course or the pools and sea front. Both make compelling views. The pools are fantastic...indoor outdoor and adult...all jostling for space in the wide expanse of lawns and greenery. The cuisine on offer is superb and the staff ever smiling and helpful. Just a short walk away lie restaurants and convenience stores which provide great alternatives to the resort. The island itself is worth a visit and it is guaranteed that one will not be bored.. ..Visit Jeju and stay in the Shilla.. .it provides a complete vacation.
we have apwnt 2 nights in the hotel. the hotel is nice. it has many pools indoor and outdoor. several hot Jacuzzi outdoor with tv. every nightvtgere us a band playing at the pool. water is not so no problem even if weather is bad. there is PlayStation room gymboree room 3 retairNts. the lounge is not so welcoming. very simple and not what one expects. rooms are nice and big.

Nice landscape, suitable for family with kids, couple or single traveller. Heated indoor & outdoor swimming pools are good for winter but hotel guest need to pay for heated cabana after swimming during winter. It cost 33000won for two hours per couple. Tooth paste & tooth brush are charge for 7 000won. Walking distance to convenient shop, starbucks, teddy bear museum etc. Not many eateries in this area but to drive or take taxi to next road,cheongjaeyeon-ro. It cost aound 3000won by taxi. There are plenty of restaurants both local & western, bakeries, local supermarket along that road. The price there are much cheaper compare to the restaurants which near to the hotel. Free airport shuttle make the trip so convenient. Staff & bellboy are well trained, they can communicate in good English. Lounge S is so relax,I love the chocolate there. Room is clean & spacious. A scenically stunning in ocean view room. The matress & pillow Are comfortable. Water pressure need to improve.
The Shilla Hotel is one of the best hotel with very very nice view beside beach. And there are separate swimming pool for child and adult where can rest without noise. The walking road from hotel to beach is also very beautiful.
The pool party went up to midnight, the family with spawn of the devil kind of children tried to be even louder than that. The children yelled, ran up and down the corridor, knocked on the walls, jumped on the floor till midnight and before 8am again. The parents couldn't care less, the front desk sent someone who just wrung his hands and bit his lips standing in front of our door. This was a rather sleepless, unfortunate experience in a so called five stars hotel. The deluxe room had a beautiful view with a balcony, a lovely bathroom and an average bedroom. Clearly the management is just not able or used to dealing with noxious customers, to the detriment of the other guests.
Stayed this place for 2 nights with kids. easy to access to sightseeing spots. and about hotel. it's clean and huge. and staffs were really kind from check in to check out. breakfast buffet is amazing but bit crowded for peak time. and swimming pool is great. they have adult only pool as well. and there is nice garden to walk around. also they have good programme for kids.
I stayed here for one night for a short family vacation. It was about twenty years ago when I first stayed at Shilla Jeju for the first time. Then it was definitely one of the best hotels in Korea. Now, it is still one of the most expensive, but the rooms are old and the service quality is declining. The hotel was so crowded, and I had to wait for buffet breakfast for thirty minutes. At the same price range of about $700 per night, there should be better options, IMHO.
Good for a family trip with several kids activity programs yet it also has adult only pool so parents can be free from their kids for a while. Love the jacuzzies and finnish saunas and you can see Mars, Moon and other stars with astro telescopes in its garden.
Having stayed in a fair few five star hotels in different countries around the world I have to say this is not one of them. For around USD 450 a night you get a three-star hotel room and have to shell out extra for use of the sauna or even to having a lie down by the adults-only pool. The food, while of good quality, is very limited in its selection and again quite overpriced. Unless you feel like having Korean or Japanese, the buffet is your only option. Breakfast is good but they don't even have teapots which I found very bizarre. We asked for some more hot water for our tea and they brought it in an empty cup - Mr Jeongho Lee, if you actually read these reviews, please ask the hotel to use some of that 2 million won from our stay to buy some teapots. All the masses of people leaving 5 star reviews for this place must either be dreaming or have not stayed anywhere actually worthy of the honour. Don't recommend anyone to stay here unless you want to feel ripped off.
