Booked a sea view room. Great scenery and sea breeze. One night the heater was set to 45 degrees Celsius and have trouble adjusting, in the end sweating throughout the night. Road beneath the room is relatively noisy even at night. The bath tube sink is rusty and don't expect any amenities like toothbrush/toothpaste or washing kit. Remember to bring your own set there or else you are in deep trouble! There is two supermarket beside the hotel. Location was not as good and quite isolated. Police station just in front of the hotel, so its relatively safe (its not 24 hours, just saying). Relatively disappointing thing is that we arranged with the hotel for packed breakfast as we needed to catch a very early domestic flight back to Seoul but cannot believe they only packed an ice cold hard boiled egg and a yogurt drink only!
Stayed 2 nights in Ocean Grand Hotel as part of our tour package in Feb 2015. Had a room facing the seaview which was quite nice imo. Our room has 1 double bed and 1 single bed and only meant for the 2 of us. The towels provided are quite small and we're able to request additional towel from the reception if its not enough. There are only 1 complimentary bottle of water per day per rooom. Complimentary breakfast was good.
This hotel is part of the package of my family korea trip. The hotel look decent from the outside and the best part is the hotel facing the sea which has nice view but my room has no sea view. The disappointing fact is the hotel services is rather inconsistent. First check in has 2 large towel, ask for more at the reception, given 2 small towel. Next day, large towel is gone and left only tiny towel, the sad part, the reception say no towel when asked for more. The worst is that the towel is dirty, one is very wear out. The room is not exactly well-maintain in my opinion with visible very wear out parts in every part of the room (Crack sink, rusty wash hole at bath tub, tap is loose and etc, while generally is clean the comfort level is below average. The breakfast is serve at B1 which has decent spread (very typical spread for korea I think) but funny part is the coffee is serve at level 1 - no logic in my opinion.
not too bad a hotel. Clean and nice. Hot waters. only thing is that they only provide small towels stay two nights as part of a tour group. Funny thing is that coffee is served at the lobby area. At breakfast there is no coffee We got a room facing the sea so view is not too bad.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a conducted group tours. Everything is provided, including bottled water, tooth brush, except bath towels. Seems to be their hotel tradition not supplied towels. So, remember to bring towels. Wifi is only available in the lobby. Do come early for breakfast as the breakfast area is not very big. Room heating is done by floor heater. Nearby, you can find restaurant, supermarket as well. in the day, do take a stroll to Hamdeok Beach which is around 15 minutes away.
We stayed 2nights at the hotel. The room was unlocked when we first reached. The lights in d room can't b switched on. Asked thr front desk n he came up to look but he doesn't understand English at all. The following morning bumped into him again at d lift. He didn't even greet us. Room is spacious n just ok for me. Nothing great to shout about. It does not come with any complementary tea or coffee. Only 1 complementary bottle of mineral water. The room is for 2pax but only 1 bottle of complementary water ? Located at a very secluded place. Far from town. Nothing at the surrounding. Only 1 mini mart nearby. Breakfast is just ok. D staff looked annoyed when we took d food for few times. It is supposed to b buffet. Why did they annoy about us refilling? Will not return to this hotel if we have a chance to visit Jeju again.
While the hotel location is good, the rooms are a bit tired and service is terrible. Be aware that they charge for every little thing, even shampoo. Even the tiniest of guest houses in South Korea provide soap, shampoo, toothpaste and often more. The pricey Ocean Grand charges for things which should be included with a hotel room. I am sorry we passed up pensions and motels because we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel but it turned out to be anything but a treat.
Stayed in this hotel because we joined an escorted land tour in Jeju. I told the tour operator that we always stay in twin room in Korea as double is too small for us, and I want facing the beach, the opposite happened and the hotel refuse to change, They claimed the hotel is full. The room seems standard size and clean, bathroom with bathtub is small, of course my sleep was horrible as they do not know queen size or king size bed exists and just double bed. Finally they settled for an extra bed which was dangerous to the back as it was too hard. On the first night, we had two face towels, no shampoo or soap. When we complain, they gave us two bath towel and no face towel, finally the last night had both bath and face towel and still no shampoo and soap, Water was complementary, as in one bottle per day for two people? extra water, you pay. Hotel is far from the city near a wonderful beach just accross the street, good view and near. It was okey for us because we had a very good tour bus and tourist guide that takes us around. Conclusion, the room is average, but they do not understand how to service well, they refuse to know that a small gesture of service brings the customer back and spread goodwill. Or they do not know how to communicate it. Took me two nights to get extra pillows. The hotel is near the beach, but far from the city, you might spend more on transportation as taxi ride is expensive in Korea. They do not have train or subway, but have buses. Although the hotel is cheap but the transportation cost might offset any savings. Wifi is only the lobby and it is slow. Choose twin bed room even if you are husband and wife, since they do not have queen or king bed, especially if you are big. As for me, I had seen enough as not to return or recommend this hotel. Why suffer when there are so many choices for hotel stay. By the way, Jeju is beautiful and I loved my tour less the hotel.
we had a late checkin at night due to the flight delayed. we thought that the hotel staff will be ok and have a good understanding the reasons of late check in. who knows...we are having a bad experience with the male staff at the registration counter. we not only getting bad service from him, also get being blamed by the staff. furthermore, the room that we get is with the light switches is broken, we end up sleep with the light on. even though the hotel is by the sea, but theres nothing around there. will surely will never come again even we are back to jeju again.
We went to this hotel after late flight and dinner. It is a bit far from the city Jeji. The room is spacious and the bath room is clean. Kids are happy to have much space to run even having 3 large luggages. The accommodation is just next to the Hamdeok beach. So we can have sea view from the balcony. And we had a chance to see sunrise one day! Don't miss to go to Hamdeok beach. It's a long beach - water is clear & shallow, sand are soft . Definitely a good place to let kids to play here. We enjoyed our 2 days stay here.
