Check in was great. They allowed me to check in the morning long way before check-in time, and offered me welcome drink while they were preparing my room. Room was great and spacious. The wifi was surprisingly fast. The breakfast was OK with decent choices.
We book this hotel via Agoda with a decent price. We arrived before check in time and they gave us a room to rest after long hours flight from Jakarta. The service was good. The location is strategic enough.
This hotel is in the center of the city. It took us one hour to go by car to the airport . The room was not big and looked old. As in most places in Indonesia the staff doesn't understand English . Breakfast and dinner buffet ok.
The hotel staff members are all very friendly and helpful - but things are a little worn down. I had a nice room with a great view. But the carpet was rather dusty and did not look clean, and the drain in the shower must have been clogged, as the water level kept rising in the shower area. I had been looking forward to enjoying the outdoor jacuzzi/garden which you can enter via the 8th floor. Unfortunately, it is nothing like the pictures. Nowhere to rest, it is all dark under a roof, and the smell of the water makes you want to stay away. It is sad that the hotel does not have an outdoor area anywhere - it would have made the stay so much nicer. The gym has a reasonablesize for a hotel like this and also quite a selection of equipment. However, some of the equipment is in strong need of maintenance, and the hotel does not provide towels or water in the gym (I asked the reception of the spa but was asked to go back to my room to fetch it). Everytime the elevator stop in a floor where smoking is allowed, the smell of cigarette smoke fills the air, so unless you are a heavy smoker, you should probably insist on a no-smoking room. It was OK for a business visit, but I am not coming back.
First i come to jayapura there is a family affair and i always choose aston hotels for overnight in jayapura. Check in and check outnya very fast and for food breakfastnya very varied and tasty. And I will recommend to a friend and I will come back again. Thank you to the staff of aston jayapura and see you again soon.
This place one of the best hotel in jayapura. I was stay for couple days also my managing director come to jyapaura from jakarta and stay there one night. The service overall is good with suites room. Match for VVIP guests.
I stayed in this hotel because I would give a seminar in hotel ballroom. I’d rather stay in a better hotel if I had a choice. They said this is 4-star hotel, but I can assure you that it isn’t. I stayed in room 1015, and the room was gloomy, with old furniture, broken and dirty carpets. I really think that the management should start thinking of refurnishing their rooms. I stayed for two nights and I got the exactly the same breakfast menu for those two mornings, to the point that I assume it was yesterday’s food that they put for the second morning! The seminar was a total failure, especially for the first 2 hours. Though we had checked everything the night before, it turned out to be so many things went wrong. First, the projector’s cable was broken, then followed by the audio cable was also troubled. Every time audio cable plugged in to the laptop, the picture went crazy. Not until 2 hours of seminar they came up with the solution to bring the portable speaker and place it at front. In the middle of seminar, the electricity went out. Though it only took them about 10 seconds to switch it to gen set, it already changed the mood of the audience of those 10 seconds black out. But I think this issue of electricity went out, is the issue for every place in Jayapura. Just be prepared if you have a seminar in this city that this might also would happen to you. The design of the lighting in the ball room was also has flaw. The ball room has several dozen lamps an almost every single of them has a single switch. So many lamp switches in the control room, to the point that even the staff got confused to turn off and on the specific lamp. I can only say that the lighting for this seminar was a total chaos! What made things even worse that the hotel staff and supervisor, did not want to get critics and always defending themselves every time me and my team complaints. Not until me and my colleague ask the supervisor to had a word with us down stair and really tell him the convenient way in handling customer complaints. I believe that this hotel staffs never got the training of quality service excellent what so ever.
My booking through traveloka two nights and extended to six nights.... I do not feel like in a 4 star hotel.. very bad service... breakfast is not tasty. I wake up at 8:45, when grab a drink, all the food already in the clear.. whirpool so bad..
Aston Jayapura can be a better option than the other hotel in the same class in the city. Simply because the service is better, staff were more efficient during check-in, check-out and when handling queries. Breakfast selections were limited but still satisfactory. If you are catching an early flight, they will make the effort to make you a breakfast box to take away. The only difficulty I had was when I was staying for 10 nights for a training workshop, but got a room without a window whatsoever. I could not tell when it was morning, day time or night time.
4 star hotel but the service I may say it is not good. After check in and the room has been prepared for the new guest, the big and small towels were not available in the room. Can you imagine that ? Prepare the room without ensuring the equipments are not there. Phewwww. Another terrible thing is no communication between on duty reception officer and the replacement reception officer. On the last day in the morning before going to the airport I completed all the bills and checked out from the hotel but when nearly mid day the other officer called me asking whether I checked out or not for the day. Terrible. For the next trip I probably consider looking for other good service hotels to stay .......
