Stayed overnight in Westin Jakarta and was extremely disappointed. I think what was more disappointing was the generic response from their customer service after I made the complaints. Nothing was specifically addressed nor was there a response from the Westin Jakarta team. It was an absolutely appaling stay for a hotel of this stature. The only bright spot was the check in where Lalitha was great in making sure my room was ready. For context I am a Bonvoy Platinum Elite member and to receive such service was having just come from Westin in Bangkok that was excellent, to this was a shame. Immediately when I arrived there was no one there to help with bags nor to even offer. They were chatting and joking amongst themselves more so that interested to help. I had to shoulder my way through the doors and security check, and even after there was no one to help. The club lounge was no better as getting help or attention from anyone was ridiculously difficult. Those there were more interested in chatting with repeat or long term guests they knew - and while I understand that is part of their scope to make the guests feel like home - it shouldn’t be at the expense of other guests and even to the point I felt discriminated on for being a new face. This repeats over breakfast the next day. Check out was equally bad as I was not informed whether I could do so at the lounge or I had to head down to the lobby. Ultimately at the lobby was checked out by a person who was curt, offered no care in my stay and just plain unfriendly. Again not the Westin service you would expect. There was more to all this - but rather than going on, I heartily would recommend other Bonvoy hotels in Jakarta. While they can look dated but they would definitely offer a much better experience. I even had a much better time staying at Aloft Jakarta - fantastic CS and great place to be at. Meridien Jakarta, Marriot Jakarta all make more sense if you’re looking for a better experience. Westin Jakarta seems to think they are above and definitely act that way.
This is my second stay at the hotel. No doubt that this is a beautiful property which is only 3 years old now. But like I highlighted previously that the lift is a nightmare. Especially when there was a big wedding party with a lot of the guest staying a the hotel and another birthday party at Seasonal Taste at the 51 floor. It was really a nightmare. I thought I will end up writing a review of the stay with again 4 stars rating as I really cannot stand the lift nightmare. But through out the stay I have noticed : >> Concierge staff who recognizing me since the time I get off from the car and more than willing to assist. >> Very helpful and friend front office staff who handle the check in very efficiently. >> Very friendly lounge staffs whom again recognizing me and noticed it has been awhile since my last stay >> Kitchen staff who went an extra miles to deep fried the spring rolls for me even the breakfast time just end. I think with all these kind of services, I do not see a reason why I should not give 5 stars rating, even with the problem with the lift. Also Henshin is place to visit especially toward sunset time. It may not the best sky bar that I have ever been but it is still quite an enjoyable scene.
I spent 3 nights at the Jakarta Westin for conference event and it was fantastic. Rooms are amazing, food is excellent and the service is impeccable. Great job To Mr. Arun Kumar for leading a highly competent and professional team. Special thanks to Ms. Nidya at reception for her welcome and smooth check in process, and follow up on my stay. Will definitely be back.
We only used the meeting room for a five-day workshop. The meeting room is spacious and comfortable. The coffee is just perfect, they use a coffee maker and the taste was great. The snack is varied and delicious. The lunch time was our favourite moment during the workshop. The restaurant is on the 52 floor. You can enjoy your lunch with an amazing view of Jakarta. The food is varied from Indonesian food, Indian food, Italian food, Chinese food and Japanese food. My most favourite is the sushi station, the raw salmon tasted fresh and delicious. The desert were all delicious. You can also have ice cream! They provide a clean prayers room. The rest room was also clean. The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. The Westin Jakarta is a very recommended 5 stars hotel in Jakarta.
I was really encouraged to see that Westin/Marriott Bonvoy had opened up a new place in Jakarta so that I could collect points. I was even more intrigued by their top floor bar and dining complex overlooking the city. Unfortunately the experience I had fell very far short of what I was expecting. It didn't deliver on so many levels and was very 'antiseptic'. The rooftop bar and restaurant complex was reserved for private functions on both nights I stayed, meaning that I had to rearrange business meetings and client drinks at the last minute which was embarrassing. I usually like The Westin chain, but this one is not up to scratch with others I have stayed in and with a now excellent choice of other hotels in downtown Jakarta I don't think I will be staying here again.
Attended a mining industry function recently. This hotel has all the proper 5-star luxury facade. However as soon as I got of the car and set foot on the entrance, the quality, or lack thereof, of thr staff training in hospitality trade was so glaring. Staffs interaction behavior and attitude did not reflect a 5-star luxury hotel at all. Door service, bell service were practically non-existent. Staffs were too preoccupied with either their monitors, chatting or gadget devices. Security staffs were of inadequate standard in terms hospitality interaction, and uniforms were not of quality befitting a 5-star luxury property. This is NOT a Westin. Basically this is a "self service" hotel with a 5-star facade.
Have stayed here a couple of times and this is now my place to stay in Jakarta. Great service all round and the rooms are spacious. Nice gym and club lounge as well. Helps that it is new. Location isn’t too bad wither. Will definitely stay here again.
I have stayed at the Westin Jakarta a number of times , staff are efficient and friendly, rooms are very clean and spacious, amazing views of the city from high floors, taxi are available always , breakfast is amazing , there is a indoor pool and spa .Amazing views henshin bar on top floor
I have stayed at Westin Singapore and Bali, got married at the Westin Bali but I am highly disappointed by Westin Jakarta. My expectations were too high due to Bali and Singapore. There is nothing appealing to me except the view the hotel boasts. Booked the club room for a birthday staycation here, checked in at the lobby (was not even guided to check in at the club floor), the room is huge and very nice, beds very comfy and great view too. The club lounge was not satisfying at all. I have stayed at many club lounge and Westin was the worst i have experienced. The staff is not very welcoming, the spread for afternoon tea and evening cocktails was not that great and cold. Breakfast spread was still the best comparatively but for a 5* star standard could have been better. The pool was a bit of disappointment as we were not expecting an indoor pool and very small size. My apartment pool is much bigger than that of Westin. Two people cannot event swim together in terms of width, very conjusted. Not friendly for bigger groups or even for chilling. Went to Seasonal Taste for dinner, the staff at the door was not welcoming or friendly, just walked us to the table and walked away without greeting. Upon check-out we called the bell boy to take our luggage who never ended up coming so we took the luggage ourselves to the club lounge. Worst 5* star experience by far for me. After having stayed in Westin Bali and Westin Singapore, Westin Jakarta was a major let down.
My review is only for the restaurant and rooftop. This is a super chick sport, amazing view, lovely food and music. We had people play the saxophone as the DJ played so pop songs. We went over on a Saturday nite. If you go before 9pm, you can order from one of the available tables. After 9pm, the tables have a minimum reserve. So good to go with friends. The place offer a good service. You do need to be 21 to enter. They will ask for ID.
