This hotel, which reminds me somewhat of Raffles in Singapore, is not a tower block. It is located in a leafy area, but not too far from the centre of Jakarta. The service, rooms and food are generally of a high standard. The hotel seems to be a mixture of Art Nouveau and Buddhist-Hindu design. The hotel makes a good base for exploring West Java, which is better than Bali; get a car and a driver. So, if you want to avoid tower blocks, try this hotel.
It's such an amazing experience to stay in this fabulous hotel... Great services... Friendly staffs... Nice pool, tasty foods, and the room, it's so so comfort and lovely. Looking forward to stay in this hotel again.
Fantastic service, very friendly and customer focused staff. Rooms are spacious and nice with good facilities. They also offer few free services for business travellers. Great selection of food from different cuisines. Quiet and convenient location.
Really enjoy to stay at The Dharmawangsa Hotel, good place, good food, good staff and good location. The right place for relaxing, they have an infinity pool, i really enjoy to swim there. I really falling in love with this hotel :)
Just had a buffet breakfasting with my family last night.. Jakarta restaurant still a timeles beauty for me The ambience..the warm welcome from the staff and the great taste of the food. Some concern from me as a constructive feed back for your restaurant : 1. The hot food serve hot and chilled food serve chilled..some of the food not meet my expectation in food temperature..the fritter was not crispy and cold and the oxtail fried rice was to dry and cold 2.compare to price is not worthed..theres no expensive item as a carving or stall..no stall to be highlight ,the buffet is not representing the dharmawangsa as ultra luxury boutique hotel. 3. Compare to other 5 star hotel..now your restaurant is far behind the competitor in term of quality and presentation..at least if you can not give the expensive item..just give the fresh food..quality is not about high quality materials but how we serve the basic things right. How ever..my son really enjoyed the dinner
We arrived in busy Jakarta, where we found the Dharmawangsa an oase of peace. All personnel is very friendly, helpfull and professional. I truly can recommend this hotel for families and business people.
If you are looking for impeccable service and the feel of "old Jakarta", and budget is not a big consideration, this is a good choice in South Jakarta. I stayed at the hotel for business meetings so I cannot review price. The food is very good, and service can be tailored to your needs. Like a cappucino delivered to your room just after your wake-up call. The place is large and quiet, another plus in a noisy city. But note that currently there is construction on an adjacent tower that affects some rooms. The grounds are tranquil, but again might be disturbed by construction.
Great hotel with very friendly staff. Room is spacious, balcony with pool view. Best pool and Instagramable, they also has outdoor playground, and tennis court. Make sure you go to indoor poor at 4th floor and enjo the Jacuzzi. Breakfast is not so many, but the quality is great.
What a joy to spend my time in this hotel. The relaxing environment and small scale of the hotel is just something I needed after some very hard days of work. The service is great without being over exaggeratingly present. The hotel is the mark for pure Indonesian hospitality. And don’t forget to have dinner in the restaurants. It had brought me the true traditional Indonesian cuisine. A great venue to bring business guests around to have them enjoy a fantastic experience. My definite choice when I’m back in Jakarta.
My third long stay (more than one month) at the Dharmawangsa and I'm never disappointed. I travel a lot but I have yet to find a comparable hotel where you feel so serene. The moment you enter the lobby, this jasmin fragrance and indonesian architecture cut you from the noisy and busy city of Jakarta. Not to forget the 2 traditional musicians in the hallway near the tea lounges that make you feel you're in Bali and not in Jakarta. Love it :) The ceiling is high, the hotel is not crowded, the rooms are big so you always have the feeling of space. You never feel packed. You can breathe and feel relaxed. As usual, the good food, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the facilities, the excellence and kindness of the staff etc... are there. You don't expect less from a luxury hotel anyway. So is there anything wrong? Perfection does not exist (but we're not far from it) so you can always quibble. There is a tennis court. It's free but if you don't have your equipment you must rent it at the Bimasena Spa. However their tennis racquet and balls are in very poor condition. The racket's grip was so worn out that it hurts your hand and the balls don't bounce anymore. Well, I'm not expecting high end materials but if I have to pay, at least give me something in an acceptable condition. Otherwise rent it for free. Other than that, the spa is excellent. Massage, pool, sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi.... nothing is missing. Very good point is that even if the superb outdoor pool closes at 6pm (when it's getting dark), the indoor facilities of the spa close at 11pm. This allows people who come back late to the hotel to still have a chance to enjoy the spa. Laundry service is very efficient, you leave your laundry bag in the morning and you'll find your clothes back on the same day before 6pm. However the staff should pay more attention on the form you fill, as they don't always respect your choice of folded or on hanger. Again, these really are minor details, it's no big deal. Ah one more thing: they are currently building a 3rd tower so it can be quite noisy. Better choosing the rooms accordingly. Overall, always a pleasure to stay at the Dharmawangsa. Of course it's no cheap, but if you're looking for a luxury hotel in Jakarta, you should consider this one which will give you a unique experience. Provided you are looking for a quiet, serene, peaceful, non-bling-bling place.
