Disappointing Experience — Not What I’d Expect from a 5-Star Hotel
From the moment we checked in, our experience was far below expectations for a hotel of this standard. The staff member at check-in charged us an amount higher than what was confirmed in our booking — and did so without disclosing it. We only realized later that we had signed for the original amount while being charged extra. When we raised the issue, the explanation was that it was a “mistake,” but the lack of transparency was concerning. On the second attempt, the correct amount was finally displayed on the card machine, but the experience left us uneasy.
Breakfast was another disappointment. Despite being a supposedly 5-star establishment, we were made to wait an unreasonably long time to be seated — something I’ve never encountered at a hotel of this calibre. For a brand of this reputation, I’d expect better organisation and guest service.
Overall, the hotel fell short in professionalism and service quality. A disappointing stay that could have been avoided with better staff training and clearer communication.
