I am a very loyal member of another chain and I rarely deviate from staying there. However, a month or so back, I had to travel with a colleague and since they stayed at the Grand Hyatt, I did. From then on, this is the only place I will stay when I am in Jakarta. The SERVICE is nothing like anything I have experienced before. From the bell hops that greet you, to the greeters at the door, to the front deck, to the restaurants, to the gym managers, to the coffee shop, to the lounge, to the cleaning crew, it is really something that I recommend whole heartedly. Again, I am loyal to another chain, but not in Jakarta ... please stay here, it's a great experience.
Grand Hyatt Jakarta is a beautiful oasis in the heart of a dynamic city. The ambiance, wellness and fitness facilities was the perfect unwind after a full business travel schedule in Asia. I found renewal and rejuvenation through the various treatments offered in Club Olympus, especially the body stretching. The pool side and the Grand Club were great spots to enjoy a beverage or a snack or even a meal and make new friends. .
Hotel needs to be renovated badly. Aging deterioration of the facility clearly showed and AC system was only cool at the level of 1970s at all bedrooms, dining rooms and function rooms. Being attached to the shopping center is a plus. Until it's extensively renovated and revamped, It is more like a 4 star hotel. Not worth the price.
I have been staying many times at Grand Hyatt Jakarta, and always have good experience with this hotel and their staff, the room always neat and clean, with superb room amenities, the staff are excellent and professional, centrally located, integrated with shopping mall and entertainment spot
Room is old. Parking spot is practically nomexistent. When we tried to park, the attendant told us that almost all spots are reserved for diplomatic cars. So, where then is the spot for guests?! Service is sub-par, as too many of the employees are condescending, and they tend to judge people by their look and origin. Really need hard work on customer service. Even when queueing for check in, more important-looking people kept cutting my queue.
I am a recurrent visitor to Grand Hyatt Jakarta (stayed there 3 times in the last 3 months) and due to the frequency of work travels and staying in different hotels, I consider this to be my top chose for business travels. It's the people there who make a real difference. Here are some examples: 1) On my last visit, I had accidentally left my prescription specs (glasses) in the taxi. When I approached the front desk several hours later, they got in contact with the Silver Bird taxi company and arranged for the specs to be delivered. Careless of me and indeed it could have been lost had I left it in some "normal" taxi, but the effort to get it back was admirable. 2) I had a surprise birthday cake and card in my room as I happened to be in Jakarta on that day. 3) The front desk staffs, the security details, the room service are always eager to make our stay comfortable. So a big thank you to the Jakarta team and look forward to more stays in coming months.
I spent a week in this hotel while on business in Jakarta. My room was large and comfortable with modern furnishings. Huge, well-equipped gym. Friendly concierge who helped me with shopping suggestions and other needs. Really an enjoyable, top-of-the-line experience. Highly recommended!
I'm so exciting to comeback here as always.. enjoying the neigbourhood esp. theCFD !! a lot of street food, urban culture performances and also a very polite prostesters (saveKPK for example when i was there)
Stayed here for 2 nights last week. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly. Exec lounge was good in comparison to others. Pool area better than expected. Had a business lunch at the seafood and steak restaurant and it was good quality. Yes it's an older building but it works well, has a great location, and I would stay there again. I got the impression it is well managed.
The Grand Hyatt Jakarta isn't quite up to the same standard as other brand properties in Asia. The rooms whilst large are dated. The room offers very little connectivity to personal devices, there's no coffee machine. bathroom toiletries more akin to a budget hotel. Plus points are location - easy walking distance to fantastic malls with lots of food options. The service was also good. We used the spa and gym including massage which were all excellent.
