After years, I stepped myself again at Aston Marina Ancol. The hotel is still quite the same with its warm and cozy ambience. Love the scent since my first smell into the lobby area. Continue to have a buffet dinner here, at Cumi-Cumi Restaurant. The dinner theme is about Jakarta's food because tomorrow, on 22 June, Jakarta will reach 490years! Love their Laksa Betawi, especially the soup. Also the Nasi Uduk and Nasi Kunig with perfect condiment. Haven't visit a hotel which prepare some variety of fish, they even have catfish! My recommendation, you need to try! The restaurant also provide a refill beverages : juice, ice tea and iced water - while some other hotels will give another charge for this. For the dessert, all the fruits array are fresh, mostly a tropical fruit. And also love their Es Buah! Last but not least, try a glass of iced cappucinno in their lobby lounge, which will complete your dinner here! FYI, the waiter and waitress at Cumi-Cumi also doing a good job. They are very polite and always know when to clean our finished dish.
Comfortable, clean rooms, really close to Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (you can basically walk to the entrance gate). Good breakfast options too, complete with middle eastern menu. Swimming pool could be cleaner though.
I've been in some bad hotels but this one takes the prize. Very very long check in and not faster checking out either. Don't be fooled by the photos provided by the hotel as these are not the same as what is reality. I'm guessing that they're photos that were taken when first furnished. We had a 2 bed apartment and the air conditioning was in both rooms was shocking. The AC in the living room was ok. Luckily we had only booked there for night .
I was arriving from Marina and went to this hotel with my spouse on foot because of its short distance. It was difficult for us to find the entrance of the hotel because the hotel was apparently build in with the residences (apartments and flats). The welcoming was so-so, and the check-in process was awful. The manager was discussing something with the staff at the receptionist desk, and the other staffs were talking about closing cashier by the end of their shift while assisting us for check in. The check in process took about 10 minutes. I ordered a pass to go to Ancol but they did not seem to take note on my profile, because the next day I have to repeat my order. Upon departure, somehow the bellman was real helpful when I thought that I left my snorkelling CD from Tidung in the room. He put his 100% concern if I could not find the CD. The restaurant was great, not with the staff but the meal. I love the soto corner and mostly the meal were tasty :) The room was great with affordable price, very spacious and great shower pressure. Love it!! But they need to pay attention to the defects in the room, there were many from the wall and from the balcony.
Good hotel staff service, but many things need to be fixed. The bed is a bit old and rundown. Not sure if I will stay there again other than I think the hotel staff is really nice. I could smell the smell from smoking in my room. The previous customer must have smoked in my room.
Staff was friendly, during i am stayed at Aston all staff was friendly, all my family enjoyed the service & facility as Well, specially front office staff , they always smile and give full attention to all customers.
I've been staying in a lot of Aston hotels around Indonesia. Honestly, this is probably unlike other Aston hotels I've ever stayed, in negative way. On the first time entering the hotel, if you are driving using any sedans / small cars or coming using taxi, there is a slope before the hotel entrance. The slope itself is really steep, and your car / taxi will always hit the slope. And then the elevator's floor displays and buttons keep blinking on and off. Also, sometimes the card reader is not working so I always need to go back to the receptionist to check my room card. Regarding the room, overall it is comfortable. Also, since it is a condotel, the room size is large and even it has microwave and electric stove. Unfortunately, there is no kitchen utensils available so I think the electric stove is a bit useless. The TV channels are also need to be fixed. Some of the TV channels just cannot be watched. About the breakfast, the restaurant itself is a bit small, so the variety of foods is limited compared to other Aston hotels in Indonesia. Also, during the breakfast, it's a bit weird that they also serve cappuccino, latte, and other "crafted" coffee beverages with additional charges. The only unique thing about the breakfast for me was that they serve Arabic food, probably because there are a lot of visitors from the Middle East. Overall, it is okay to stay here, but a lot of things need to be fixed and improved. As a suggestion for future visitors of the hotel, if possible, please check-in to the hotel in the afternoon, because the traffic is worse at night around 5 - 8 PM. Also, ask for the room that is facing the sea.
I have stayed at room 1812 it's a 2 bedroom apartment. For beds and pillow I must say that I have a wonderful sleep experience. The pillow is so fluffy and hugable, the beds was so comfortable. Love it!! Few things needs to be improve: 1. Breakfast is so so nothing special in breakfast, the taste is plain. 2. Room service delivery - it took hours to deliver 1 meal of Soto Lamongan 3. Main bedroom ac was leaking I attached the picture of a main bedroom table with water from the AC Location is good, beds experience was amazing, only that few things needs to be improve, house keeping need to re-check the rooms before it's occupied by the guests.
The Aston Marina is not a luxury pad. So dont compare with 5 star establishments. The hotel is one tower in an apartment complex of 5 residential towers. Rooms are large generally as they are either 1 or 2 bedroom apartments. Furniture seems dated but overall comfortable. Superior rooms offer smoking but deluxe rooms are non smoking. The lobby lounge allows smoking. Que at front desk can be long between 12-2 pm. Its 32 floors are served by 2 guest elevators. Theres a service lift that you can use if waiting for the guest lifts seem dreadful. Breakfast spread is decent. The staff seem nice, dedicated and professional. I stayed here because it is near the highway to the airport and travel time to from airport is about 30-40 minutes. I would stay here again if i dont want to go to Plaza Indonesia or Kuningan area. Oh the smoking area outside lobby restaurant is mosquito infested. Please do something about it.
I like the condo-tel concept of this hotel. got a 2-bed room with a kitchen that includes electric stove in it. unfortunately all these great facilities were not backed with great services and maintenance. most of the appliances inside the room were stained, filthy bathroom, seemed like the windows hadnt been cleaned for months. once you enter the elevator, you can smell the strong cigarette odor, as if all the floors were all smoking room. fortunately the buffet breakfast was good, has a lot of varieties of food and beverages. the swimming pool is shared with the apartment, hence most of the time it will be very crowded in late afternoon.
