This is a beautiful hotel, situated in the Southern Part of the City, just out of the mayhem of the central city traffic. It's also a great location if you happen to be attending the forthcoming Asia Games. The staff are exceptional. Happy, smiling and always at the ready to assist. Rooms are super comfy, and I was delighted they had an excellent selection of Cable TV channels. I had very peaceful sleeps here during my 2 night stay. The pastry basket I had for breakfast (room service - but you can eat in the gorgeous restaurant) was exceptional - best pastries I've had in Indonesia. Bonus: You can buy them, plus some delectable cakes in the little patisserie close to the check-in counter. Be sure to indulge in some of their Cheese Sticks. I ate far too many. Delicious! There was also an amazing band playing in the bar while I was there - they played some fantastic tunes. They had a brass section, and both male and female singers. One of the most entertaining bands I've heard in Indonesia. I'm not sure which nights they play, so it would be best to check. Overall, a wonderful hotel, with exceptional staff. A great experience all round. I'll most certainly return. Cheers and thanks to all the awesome staff who made my stay so fantastic.
I stayed there for 7 nights in mid October 2017. Location: Strategic. Near from everywhere. Especially when you have meeting in South area of Jakarta. It will ease you on the traffic. Customer Service: the front liner need to have more smile in their face, especially the ones in front desk. Room: clean, hommy, but a bit dark. Facilities: they have ATMs in the front yard. Other than that standard. Breakfast: well lighted restaurant with well decorated high ceiling. The unexpected was the menu, all were delicious and lot of choices.
I booked deluxe room for 8 nights and junior suite for 1 night because hotel said they did not have deluxe room for the date. In monday, they ask me to pack my thing before I left the hotel so they can put my things in junior suite room. I packed all my things before I left the hotel (8 am). Around 9.30am the hotel called me and inform me that I can stay in my deluxe room since there isn't any junior suite left for me. Please be careful id you booked the hotel. I booked the room directly from hotel website, got the reservation code but they cancelled it after they asked me to packed my things from my previous room. The parking area is very small. They have a basement parking area, you must be a very good driver since you must park your car without any assistance from hotel security. I choose the hotel because it located only 1 km from my office. And because I think it's a 4 star hotel. Well, they do have an outdoor pool, a gym facility, sauna but I think the pool is only suitable for kids. Before I checked out, I bring my kids to the pool. The staff said that she can only give us 1 towel. I told her that this is not my first visit the pool and we can get 2 towels. After arguing, she finaly gave us 2 towels. And guess what happened next. The pool is closed. The staff did not inform us about it. So we bring the towels back to the staff and said the pools is closed. I suggest her to give that information to the guest and not arguing about towel. I asked her name, and she did not want to answer my question. And she said that she is not employee of the hotel. aaaarrgghh. The breakfast is excellent. The door man and the bell boy is really helpful. I appreciate it. So I think it will be my last time and will never come to thia hotel again.
I stayed in the hotel from 26 to 27 September 2017. I was given a room #6610. I attended a meeting till 10 pm on 26 Sept. When I was about to take a shower, I found a blood stain on the bath up wall and then I found another blood stain on the duvet and 1 hair on the bed. I asked for taking out my breakfast on 27 Sept. The brown bag breakfast was poorly presented: only 4 types of bread, fresh banana and apple without any wrap for the fruits nor the bread. I assumed that the breads had been contaminated by the banana and apple. A friend who happened to stay in room 3310 informed me that he could feel the drool smell on his pillow. What disgusting weird of a 4 stars hotel.
I have stayed at the Ambhara a number of times for work purposes and I find it more than adequate. The staff are professional, courteous and always ready to help. The restaraunt is stunning, clean and has a wonderful menu. The cocktails are GREAT! Concierge and Reception staff are very helpful and I am remembered everytime I return to Jakarta. The Ambhara is accross the road from Blok M Mall which has everthing you need, a short trip to any shopping mall you like. Blok M is the party district, so that was a great experience too! So if you want to get amongst it with a touch of 'flash', stay here.
I stayed here for 2 nights. The location is great. It has a tiny pool, a spa and a gym. The staff there are really friendly. The room is also roomy, comfortable but i think it could be cleaner than it is now.
I came for visiting my friend there and I found that there is no hot water for shower. No soap for taking a bath. Only got 1 pcs of handsoap. The room is quite clean. The properties are old style. The parking area is small.
We stay here during Eid Mubarak long holiday and just check in this afternoon. The check-in process quite smooth only took abt 5 minutes til they handed us card room. Room interior reflects the grand design (which quite common for hotels 90s era) with wood styled furniture and javanese styled decorations. Beds comfy enough while minor drawback only on the non cooling fridge (perhaps because it's an old one!) While aircon also did not work perfectly yet we're enjoying our stay here. Quite recommended for our next holiday plan although it won't be on top of our list.
Weird parking procedure. Approaching the hotel entrance gate we were told to go around to enter the hotel from the back side. The detour passed a traffic light that added about 3 minutes to travel time. Upon entering the parking area we were inspected for security and allowed in without warning from the security that parking space was full. We ended up at the first gate we encountered and were told to go around, meaning go through the traffic light again. So weird. Why can't the hotel provide adequate parking for its own guests. And BTW there were 4 of us in a car. So we are very efficient in using parking space.
A very friendly hotel with great service. The refurbished resto looks great and the food and service are also very good I would recommend the Ambhara if you are looking for a friendly place to stay in the center of Blok M Jakarta
