Surprised by the many steps you had to take to get to your room, we gazed upon the pool and lawns next to the pathway. At first we got an upstairs room (forgot the room number) in the first housing area. It had a 'balcony', an INDOOR room with 2 chairs facing the refrigerator. We had to hide our laughter after the hotel staff told us that that was our balcony. After 5 minutes we phoned the front desk because the AC stopped working. It started smelling like molten plastic and we decided to check with the hotel staff. We immediately got reaccommodated to a different room (431) on ground level. It had a more modern AC unit, refrigerator and a small outside area which faced the glassed hallway. The room is spacious and nicely equipped for a couple. Wi-Fi was available in both rooms. The only thing we would change is the bathtub that you have to step in to take a shower. Something more modern could be placed there. The pool is situated next to the restaurant and looks (and swims) fabulous. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast, plenty of choice and has kind staff, but sometimes a little more privacy during the meal would be appreciated. All in all a fantastic 3 star hotel. Spacious and well equipped rooms with a refrigerator and good AC. They are serving a good breakfast and have a stunning pool. Would recommend it to anyone that wants to stay in Jaisalmer.
Huge property with two big lawns, nice swimming pool, clean rooms, enjoyable breakfast and ample place for parking of vehicles. View from the room was good. Built in yellow stone, it is in consonance with the colour of 'Sonar Quila' and city of Jaisalmer. If better maintained lawns would add to the beauty of place.
We know it's India, but to keep it a good hotel it has to be maintained. I'm not saying it isn't but it needs constant attention and there are a few flaws. That being said, this hotel is just around the corner of jaisalmer. Rooms are good, staff are adequate and very friendly. It's low season so more staff then guests, watching us eating at diner. That's a little bit weird but they want to serve the guests in a good way. Pool size is excellent but the chairs needs some paint :). Had dinner twice, food is good but it comes with 'tourist' prices. Beer costs 375rp that's way too much.
feel the royalty the erstwhile kings lived in, the magnum and royalty is felt here and so is the culture. The food is amazing and so are the rooms which are extremely well maintained. The hotel is a little away from the main city so its very peaceful too.
Though sumner is not right time to travel to Jaisalmer , we reached gorbandh palace in July , when most of Jaisalmer is closed. Despite low occupancy , hotel took good care of us. As to our surprise we got to know fortuner sand bashing was not available , hotel arranged DVD player with movies To keep kids busy. Icebox packed by hotel in our car for visit to Sam was so much appreciated. Will visit again but in winters sometime
We had a room with a small private balcony facing towards the pool. The hotel is lavish (for a 3-star category). It has atleast 2 lawn areas, a nice & clean pool, a Spa and a big dining area. Parking area is big with a place to stay for the driver. In the evening there was a rajasthani folk show and a puppet show. Very entertaining and enjoyable. The food spread during the brekfast boufet (everyday) and dinner (dinner boufet was only on fixed days) was with a lot of variety. They have a separate bar area with decent seating. The restaurant staff was EXTREMELY COURTEOUS. Almost everyone was requesting food items that were not a part of the boufet and the staff happily delivered the same to them at no cost. I also utilised their spa services, very clean spa and good products were used. The masseur lady was very sweet and knew the massage techniques well. There was a carom, chess area. I suggest the hotel staff to have some more play options for smaller kids The jaisalmer fort is about 10 minutes drive from here. SAM sand dunes was about half an hour drive from here. ALL in all me, my husband and my 5 year old kid had an awesome time here.
I stayed with my family in the month of Dec.'16 we booked 2 rooms. The hotel made us wait for at least an hour as we couldn't have an early check-in. As many other guests were too waiting for the same. The property is nice, big with some amenities but I think it's way more expensive as compared to the service, reception staff were not very professional as they missed my booking and had to take some time to find out the same. The price charged was different than committed may be this is due to mis- comunication of hotels.com and management. Overall we did stay for a night: Good stay, staff is not professional and trained well, way more expensive, no gym.
Very good rooms, amenities, staff, and food. The Hotel itself is a good place to spend time. The Hotel looks more like a small palace. The swimming pool is clean. Local musicians perform in the evening. Located in the outskirts of the city.
I love the breakfast buffet so much of variety. And the staffs were very nice The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were especially cheery, friendly and helpful.Exceptionally courteous staff who are ready to accept all your reasonable requests
We had a 4 day residential meeting at Gorbandh palace. What leaves an impression on you is the amazing food - flavourful with very good variety; and most importantly the attitude of staff. You ask for anything and they are more than willing to do it for you. A non-sugar tea? Sure maám. Pack breakfast for us as we are leaving at 6 in the morning? Sure maám. its awesome and blows you away... The place itself is decent - swimmimg pool is big, rooms are decent size with complimentary tea/coffee, toilet is clean with shampoo, conditioner, cream etc provided for.
