Alsisar Haveli - A Heritage Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Anywhere in the world you can stay in common high rised hotels that are all pretty much the same. But only in India can you stay in a heritage haveli and have a real experience like in the Alsisar. The opulence drips off the walls of a bygone era. The dinning room is astonishing. Close to the bazaars of the pink city. The rooms are spacious clean and fitting with the style of the hotel. They don’t have mini refrigerators in the rooms, but I found no need for one as the waiters are at your service from morning until 11pm. The pool area is stunning with mosaic peacocks adorning the walls. It’s a very pretty hotel. It’s not a easy place to find until you enter the gate, so take a business card from the hotel with you to show tuk tuk drivers the address to get back easier. The staff are fantastic, they have a great team working there. If you don’t like stairs ask for a lower floor, the rooftop rooms are a climb. The buffet breakfast is of good quality with ample choices, you can eat inside or outside. There’s a really peaceful ambiance about this place, maybe because it’s still the family’s home not just a hotel.
It was a lovely stay at this property. Dinner and breakfast were excellent gaff very polite and friendly. Rooms clean. Tea facilities in room. It's a pity about the hot water. We reached after 6 hours drive abd needed a good shower. The checkin staff should have informed us that the hot water is switched on on certain hours. By the time we realized the cold shower was done. The next day, during the hot water hours, we again got cold showers. We agree for environment friendliness, however, when you sell a property as luxury hotel, hot water is a minimum requirement. However, we will recommend this hotel.
The Hotel is beautifully decorated. A lot of attention to detail. When you arrive it looks pretty simple and you think the cab driver has brought you to the wrong place. As soon as you checked in at reception and go through the inner court towards the bedrooms, you are transported to a magical place. We had a bedroom on the top floor. Not a great view, but you will hardly get that in Jaipur. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, and very clean. Hardware is at some places suffering from wear and tear, however it contributes to the whole charm of the place. Beautiful pool area as well. We walked to the Pink-city, old town and it took around 20-30 minutes to get to the palace. Which was ok as you are busy absorbing city life on the way there. We took a tuc-tuc back to the Hotel. Friendly staff, but be patient it you are not understood straight away. Continental and indian breakfast. Continental very good with cook in the restaurant area, who made your choice of egg dish. Good choice of dishes for evening meal.
A good hotel close to the sights and centre of town. Is a little impersonal but I guess that's because most guests are in tours and stay a single night. The staff warmed up on our second night. The buffet is very good - one of the best we had on our trip. The resident French bulldog Stella is there to keep any eye on things.
The Alsisar has a great location, close to the old city so you can be right in the middle of things. But once inside it's gates peace reigns supreme. The courtyard and pool area are elegant and tranquil. The dining room, with its sumptuous appointments, heralds the majesty of a bygone era. The rooms are spacious and gracious, also harkening back to a simpler yet grand time. The staff is exceedingly helpful and friendly, with every request met with a smile.
This hotel is pretty nice but I had a sad incident. During the dinner I ordered a bottle of wine. When I got the check there was almost 30% extra charge in the price of the wine. I argued with the waiter leader he should have told me about this even so is the rule I am not from India. It would have nice he had told me before about the taxes. His answer was kind of rude and I thought he didn’t understand my point! Sad!
Lovely lovely place to stay in. Great pool, room and reception. They could improve the breakfast, but the ambience makes up for it. I would recommend this place highly for families, friends and couples
The hotel is places at an incredible location, and is close to almost everything you would want to see in Jaipur. The hotel has beautiful heritage designs and is amongst the best options one can get at this price. The room and bathrooms are nice and clean and the staff courteous. The beds are high with and have posts. The restaurant does not have a very extensive menu but the breakfast buffet was a varied spread. The pool is nice and you can order a cooler and snacks and sit by it in the evening. Overall, i'd suggest staying there and go out for the meals.
We stayed here with our daughter aged 12. The service was so personal and the staff were all so attentive. The pool area is very restful. Staying at a heritage property really made our time in Jaipur special. It's quite close to the old city so very convenient. Our daughter was ill and the hotel called Dr Archana Sogani (98290 53173) who came immediately despite the fact it was Diwali and she should have been with her family. She came on two subsequent occasions to look after my daughter. She is a kind and loving doctor and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
This is a gorgeous building, pool, courtyard and garden and quite an oasis from the busy streets but our stay had few problems. Our first room which was above the restaurant was beautifully furnished and comfortable but we had an issue with bull ants in the bathroom and then at midnight a mouse scurrying around the room. We were moved to another room which also was lovely but the air conditioner blew directly over the bed and we were unable to lower the fan speed-hence it was cold to have it, on but too hot to not. The staff were plentiful but not overly friendly or helpful. The buffet had an expected array of choices but nothing too exceptional.
