Nice rooms, spectacular extensive pool - great for kids. Semi-private beach 100 yards away. A short car ride to town (Jaco), $17 there, $10 back. we will be back here.

Do not go here for any special occasion. The rooms are all outdated, old grimy tiles and used furniture. The hotel staff do not make you feel like you're a guest. Unfortunately, there were no better resorts nearby for our honeymoon. They located us on the 2nd floor in front of a playground. They gave us a hard time with our daily free breakfast. They also never gave us the $25/day resort credit.

Great quiet place to unwind and de-stress by a pool

The trip started out great. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. They got us booked on the tours and excursions that we wanted to do. But, as the week progressed, the service and hospitality became atrocious. -While on a tour, my girlfriend was stung by a black wasp on her left hand. Not knowing that she was allergic, we went about our day. The next morning, I woke up to her hand being tripled in size. She was unable to move her fingers, was in immense pain, and needed help immediately. Upon alerting the woman at the front desk, she informed me that our two options were 1) to take a $20 cab ride to the medical clinic which was located ON the resort property-no more than a 2min. drive 2) to walk there-approx. a 20min walk in the 95+ degree heat. The woman at the desk saw her hand and saw how much pain she was in and offered us no help whatsoever. We were never offered a ride on a golf cart to get there as fast as possible, nor were we offered having a medic come to the hotel. Those were our two options and that was it. Being that we were not going to pay $20 for a 2min. cab ride nor wait for a cab, we walked. We were appalled at the lack of care or concern the employees showed when one of their customers was in visible pain. *Side note-Carlos the EMT at the hotel was EXTREMELY helpful. We were finally put in touch with him 2 days after getting stung and after refusing to go back to medical clinic. He really took the time out of his day on multiple occasions to make sure she was doing OK. He even took the time to wrap her hand 2 days in a row. He is an extremely hard worker, is caring, compassionate, and should be praised for his hard work. -A group of 30+ children and their mothers were staying at the hotel for 2-3 nights during that week for a 5th grade graduation retreat. Once they arrived, the children were running wild throughout the hotel, by the pool, on the beach, and in the main eating areas. They had no supervision by their parents and the resort staff did nothing to make sure that the other resort guests were cared for. The children were climbing on and jumping off of the pool bar, running by the pool, making a game out of splashing other vacationers while laying in the sun, and jumping out of the La Vista restaurant into the pool. Both mornings they were there, they jumped into the pool from La Vista, splashed my breakfast to the point that I had to go get another plate-no one working in the restaurant said anything. While by the pool bar, I had no less than 5 drinks ruined by children climbing up the side and jumping off of the roof. The children were so incredibly loud that you could hear them half way down the beach. They screamed constantly throughout the day, making it impossible to relax by the pool. The pool staff only catered to them-it took me 4 hours to flag down one of the pool waiters to get me water. They had no regard for other people trying to enjoy their vacations, and neither did the staff. 3 days of my vacation were completely ruined. I complained to the front desk 2x, and nothing was done. -Our reservation included breakfast. Every single morning we had to wait at least 20mins to eat breakfast because they had to check and make sure our breakfast was included. Again, this happened EVERY morning for 7 days.

The hotel is beautiful and the pool is great. The staff was not so friendly. The ac in our room was super noisy. They never changed our towels instead they would just fold the dirty ones back up. They charge $40 for WiFi which is ridiculous since every u go in Costa rica its free. Breakfast is overpriced.

Beautiful Hotel, very clean, good food and drinks.

We stayed here for proximity to surf and were not disappointed, 20 minutes to Jaco, 25 to Hermosa. Staff was so friendly. Pool was amazing, beach was just ok.

My son was married here on the beach and it was very nice. The views, pools and staff were excellent. Tennis courts needed a little work.

Great pool for kids and adults, open late. Nice clean rooms and sometimes raccoons in the hall!

wonderful place to unwind, beautiful pool. food is expensive for family travel.

Very impressive resort hotel. Excellent service, extensive facilities, service-oriented staff. However, annoying charges, e.g. room wi-fi charge, late check out charge. Mini bar items prices were excessive. However, Coffee shop, CR souvenirs in Gift Shop, and some dishes at La Vista restaurant were reasonable. A very pleasant stay. Excellent value rate.

The hotel and pools are fantastic. The staff overall was helpful and friendly. The beds were cozy and great to sleep on! The city where the hotel is located is not great and missing a lot of sites. But it is close to ziplining and an hour away from white river rafting and the beautiful ocean front park Manuel Antonio (Don't get a guide, there expensive and useless) We did have some issues with the hotel, on our first day when we first arrived, we were not assigned rooms that met our needs that were requested. We had eight people in two rooms, and the front desk said that they only had one king for each room and no more doubles/queens we objected strongly. They said our reservation was only a "request" we noted that we paid for a package deal of flight and hotel for 8 people and that four people would not fit on one king bed! Finally, after much arguing they found two rooms with two doubles!( Why all the grief they caused is a mystery!) The second issue is in regard to the restaurants and food. Everything is extremely expensive! (More than we pay for meals in the U.S.) and there are really only two restaurant choices. The waiters while friendly need better training as they are not attentive to the needs of the table and rarely if ever ask if we needed anything. Many times we had to flag down a waiter or busboy just to get water refills! Besides these two issues the hotel was wonderful!

Highly recomended. Great hotel, staff and location. Short drive from Jaco beach.

Had a great time ,we enjoyed the pool , room , location, and staff were great , very beautiful place , but it was expensive , and they seemed to stick you on some things that were silly , like $5 bottles of water ,$5 cans of beer in the room , $10 drinks at the pool , and even $10 a day to use the wifi ! I stayed at the Marriott in San Jose before and after the trip to Los Suenos , and it was free there . They even charged $10 to come and clean out the minibar , so we could put our own stuff in the room ,you can get champagne , beers , water , snacks and stuff just a few blocks away at a supermarket on your way back from dinner and save a bunch ! We enjoyed the resort and grounds ,but everything was so expensive there , we ate dinners out at nice places in Jaco ,and went to Villas Colletas to see a great sunset and have a great meal , one night . Costs a bunch to get there , $100 to 140 each way for a shuttle ,so plan on that from San Jose . We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott before and after ,since you get in so late from DFW , and a 1and half to 2 hour drive to Los Suenos from San Jose ,we did not want to waste a night at a 5 star place and get there at midnight , also leaving early for flight home , so better to stay the night in San Jose , than leave there at 4:30 am , to be at airport by 6:30 for check in ,you need to be there 2 hours early .

Fantastic hotel, we had visited Costa Rica for a wedding that was held at the Marriott and stayed for the remaining week for vacation. The hotel is beautiful, staff are very helpful and kind. The rooms are very cleaned and the best comfortable beds ever!!! I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic vacation or a family vacation. The Marriott offers lots of activities for children. One last thing the restaurants on the premises are fantastic.

The hotel was exceptional and the staff attentive. Pool was incredible.

Fantastic stay! Hotel room super clean and the beds are great! You could sleep all day in them.

My family really enjoyed Los Suenos. It's very conveniently located for lots of fun activities, has a really lovely staff, comfortable, clean rooms straightened multiple times a day, great pool. The concierge staff is great and tour company is on site to arrange great trips. My only complaint is that although the rooms are at an attractive price, everything is a la carte and not cheap. Lunch for four was between $80 and $100 every day. Breakfast was included, a great deal, as the foot was excellent. I would go back.

Good hotel in a good location and we had great service. the grounds were well maintained and are very scenic. Only the pool and beach are free. expect to over pay for services as this is a "resort". The beach directly in front of the hotel is not the best. Drive a few miles south to one of many public beaches if you are looking to swim or surf. I have a problem with the room discriptions. A "sitting/living area" does not exist.
