The location was fantastic, a stones throw from the beach. Pool area was nice, with the option to take loungers and chairs onto the beach if you wanted. The apartment had everything we needed, 2 balconies, a kitchen area, living room, TV, air conditioning and a good shower. Breakfast was good, something different every day and delivered to our balcony at a time of our choosing between 7-9am. Staff were always around to ask for anything if needed. The wildlife that could be viewed from the balconies was great, all very peaceful. All in all I would highly recommend this accommodation for a stay in Costa Rica.
Our family spent three days in this tiny and special hotel. We had a warm welcome and have been given an apartment that was freshly renovated with a brand new bath room. Our apartment had climatisation, TV, kitchen with a huge fridge, WiFi and hot water shower. Breakfast was good and well presented by the couple serving us in the morning. Our kids enjoyed the swimming pool in front of the ocean and we made nice walks on a lovely beach. We saw many kind of birds, monkeys, iguanas. In the village there are three restaurants/bars, we tried a couple of them and the food was fine (Recife and Los Almendros). Generally speaking we had a nice stay and we recommend this beach.
Great value place to stay. The rooms were very clean, despite being a little older. Beds comfy enough, A/C worked great! A breakfast of fresh fruit, toast, jam, delicious coffee and juice was brought to our little patio every morning. No hot shower (has an electric shower head that we were not going to try), but as I mentioned, it's a great place for the price. Safe in the room worked once we got instructions from the manager. Wifi worked great! The pool was clean and lovely and the hotel is RIGHT on the beach, which goes for miles and is VERY quiet! The town itself is VERY small and quiet, but has a supermarket for basics, and a couple restaurants in walking distance. If you want something fancy, look elsewhere, but we grew to love the little hotel :)
The beach is absolutely amazing! You can walk for miles and see almost no one! We stayed on the second floor where there is one apartment with a view. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and breakfast was a welcome site in the mornings! The owners are in the middle of upgrading and they have great taste and skills!
The family that runs this place are really nice.We liked the location of this hotel as it was close enough to both Jaco and Manuel Antonio. The hotel is right on the beach and has a small pool as well. The apartment we stayed in was small, cute and clean. The air con, wifi and hot water worked well during our stay. Breakfast was served on our patio every morning between 7 am an 9 am. Breakfast was toast, fruit, juice, coffee and sometimes eggs. We enjoyed our stay but found it was extremely loud because of the construction. The room next to us was being renovated and the workers would start hammering at 6:30 AM . It was like a jack hammer coming through the wall. It went on for hours each morning til 9 or 10 am. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.
Emilio and Jasmin do a great job of making your stay pleasant at La Dolce Vita. The rooms are small but clean. Everything worked well including the wifi. The beach is steps away. It was very quiet in November. There was renovation work being done while we were there so they do maintain the facility.
This hotel was nice and clean. It's so close to the beach it's amazing. You want to relax then go to La Dolce Vita. The area is great close to 2 restaurants with great food,a little market called SuperSol. People there are so nice they make you feel that your part of the community. We will go back again. It's easy to get to from the airport.
I have been told new mgt. so may have improved since our stay yrs. ago. It was not a pleaseant experince and understand they have made improvements to accomodations. It is a very small pool and the photos are deceiving.
We didn't know what to expect on our first stay and we were pleasantly surprised. Great location right on the beach. What a wonderful hotel - small but comfortable. Clean rooms with kitchenettes - breakfast included each day. Emilio and his wife were attentive and friendly. We've already booked our next stay. The only thing that would make this place better would be a microwave and hot water but hey, it's Costa Rica lol.
Esterillos Oeste is a suuuuper small town so if I were to tell you the number one place to stay there, La Dolce Vita would probably be it. There is no ATM in town (to give you an idea of the scale) and in August there seem to be only two restaurants in operation, open only for dinner. However, since you might be considering a hotel in a number of towns in the area, I give La Dolce Vita an average rating. Our room was very clean, the sheets nice and soft, but the furniture and appliances are very worn. They were probably top of the line in apart-hotel amenities way back when they were installed. Compared to where we had stayed earlier in our trip, the accommodations were ok. The upsides are: 1) La Dolce Vita is right on the beach, so you can simply walk through the back gate on to the sand. 2) There is quality AC and a working mini-kitchen. 2) There is a small supermarket about one block away where you can get some types of fresh food to cook. The pool in the photo is small (hot tub size) but clean and heated. The whole pool area is nicely maintained and they have a small grill that might be available for use. The staff is very friendly and they do include continental breakfast. The "orange juice" is not real juice, if that matters to you, but the papaya was fresh and delicious. If you are looking to stay in a quiet town away from the noise of Jaco but still within short driving distance of tours and adventures, I recommend La Dolce Vita.

This hotel is home to 3 onsite restaurants, perfect for a quick bite to eat. Start your day right with breakfast, served for a fee from 7 AM to 10 AM.
The 7 air-conditioned accommodations feature kitchens and patios, and there's space to spread out with separate bedrooms and living rooms. TVs come with cable channels, and free WiFi keeps guests connected. Other standard amenities include sofa beds, coffee makers, and ceiling fans.
