Great pool and reasonable drink prices and good food. Scarlet mccaws were fun to watch. Rooms close to the road are subjected to loud trucks downshifting....very loud.

Property was great except for the road noise from the main road

Very clean and the employees were pleasant. Food was delicious, Vidal went above and beyond to provide helpful information about his country and made us feel very comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and greeted us with a great smile every day. Pura Vida🙏

On the beach with lovely pool and property

I am so glad we chose Hotel Club Del Mar for our trip to Jacó and to celebrate our one year anniversary. When we arrived, we were greeted with a bottle of champagne by the manager Jason (I had previously told the hotel we were going to be celebrating our anniversary) - a very special touch. Then, we met one of the owners Tom, who was so friendly and down-to-earth. Every day that we saw him, he called us by our names and checked in with us. In fact, the entire staff was exceptional - so helpful, friendly and laid back. Our room was spacious, had a balcony and a big king bed. The hotel is ocean front and has a sparking blue pool and a pool bar where you can have a drink and stare out at the beautiful ocean. The location was ideal in my opinion. It is located at the far south end of Jacó so you are away from the high rises and crowds - yet it's only a $5 max Uber or taxi ride to town where there are lots of amazing and affordable restaurants and bars.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo with a "Garden view" although lucky us it very much had an ocean view too. It was VERY NICE, reminded me of a luxury condo in Hawaii. Huge rooms, kitchen, etc. Best bed and AC on our entire trip. Location in Jaco seemed very good for surf and less crowds. But the place seemed to miss the tico soul we found everywhere else. The staff didn't seem happy (the manager patrolled the place like he was trying to catch people misbehaving), the grounds seemed to be under repair but also kinda shotty, the pool was big, fun and a great temp, but also had a lot of algae (I was wearing goggles,) and the road noise was intense (the sound of big trucks barreling down the highway). And although our condo seemed super clean, there were some pretty big bugs... but I understand it is right near the rain forest! If we stayed here first, I would probably have a better review but in comparison, we just didnt love this place.

You can do everything from here. Very South end of the beach Can walk beach to town of Jaco or take a 5. Minute cab ride $5 staff is excellent will arrange for any event / trip/ outing or adventure you might like surfing lesson ATV zip line. Sport fishing. All the best adventures. Owner on premises. Great Place To Stay. Would do it again

Very friendly staff, seems like all rooms have ocean views, clean room and grounds. The door for my room didn't extend all the way to the ground. There was about a half inch gap. At one point, a lizard ran in. Overall, good stay.

Stayed for a week. Great master bedroom, plus kids' room and hide-a-bed easily fit 5. In-house restaurant was nice but a little expensive for feeding a family every day, but rooms had fridge and stove, so we stocked up on groceries. Free breakfast was great. On edge of town but within walking distance of downtown (walk the beach), or a short cab ride away. Nice pool, and only a stone's throw from the beach. Great, broad sandy beach at low tide. High surf and narrow beach at high tide. Kids loved playing in the surf.

Absolutely wonderful hotel, staff was friendly and personable. Front desk/concierge was amazing and helpful. Such an amazing experience. We can't wait to go back next year!

Great little hotel in a not so crowded beach town. Much preferred staying here than at the Casino. Great Staff, wonderful time!!

wonderful experience...the suite was lovely Very close to the beach. House keeping was very good. Food at the hotel was so so.

My lady and I went here for our honeymoon and were amazed on how beautiful the room was, the veiw, the staff, location, food, and pretty much everything about the place. We are never going to stay anywhere else. The owner is really nice British man who was extremely kind to us and answered all of our questions about the area, as well as the staff. Also, I really like the fact that it is at the end of Jaco's beach away from the town, but is still walking distance or a short taxi drive to everything.

Everything that we like in a hotel. Secluded yet close to everything. Hotel was quiet but met all our needs. The room was very nice more of a suite with sitting area and a nice veranda. Would highly recommend it. Earlier in the week we stayed at a gate enclosed resort, we felt caged!

Good beach location. Charming, dated and basic. Costa Rica wildlife experience: iguanas and macas overhead. Wifi only in lobby. Beds rock hard, typical of a European youth hostile. However, food pretty good, great surroundings, nice guests, has kind of a cult following with many repeat guests. Good value. Our kids loved it! We used this to balance out the first part of our trip, when we stayed in a 5 star, expensive resort. Balance worked well for us.

Checkin was easy. The room we stayed in was a 2 bedroom condo with a full kitchen, living and dining area plus a patio. One bedroom had a queen bed, private bath and small patio, the other just had two twin beds. There is a bathroom with shower that is common to the living area. Each bedroom had its own personal A/C unit with a "drying" option which came in handy on the wet days. It was a wonderful unit with plenty of space. Every room had a window and there was plenty of fresh air. Our room was kept impeccably clean by the staff although there were a couple friendly bugs of course. Restaurant was good, but nothing too special to write about. The included continental option is simply a plate of cut fruit and a plate of toast with butter and jam. It was served to me at a table. There is no buffet. If you want more food or something different you can order from a standard breakfast menu at additional cost. Lunch and dinner were of the standard american fair, plus some random italian options. Not very authentic. Location is at the south end of Jaco beach. Far away from all the action, but that might be a good thing as many of the other resorts have protective gates and fences. Either this area gets bad at night, or it used to be dangerous years ago. Many of the barred places are abandoned now. Jaco is a cool town with plenty to do, eat and drink. We were warned about going out at night and on the two occasions we did go out nothing happened, although some stranger offered to "watch" our car. Surfing on the beach is great! Club del Mar is a chill place and the owner, Philip, will do anything he can to help you enjoy your stay. However, I would suggest only staying here a couple days, unless you are the type that likes lounging around. We got bored after our few days in this town.

250 Meter South of Jaco Puntarenas
