Moderately clean and needs bugs exterminated

At first we were very impressed. We travel often and are used to some homes being cleaner than others. This place was not dirty but it was not super clean either. The view and accommodations were great. Customer service, until I mentioned the roaches. We were there for a total of 3 nights. On night two I woke up and turned on the kitchen light and there were 6-8 roaches that were about 1.5 inches long. Previously that evening I had to clean the kitchen and remove everything from the counters because of ants. We only had one more night in the home and with my wife, mother in law, daughter and grandkids there was no way to notify the landlord and have them treated and stay in the property due to the chemicals and smells. I decided not to tell my family about the bugs for fear of them wanting to leave and get a hotel so I said nothing. While packing up I made it clear to the cleaners that there was a bug issue... Upon getting the first request for a review I politely wrote back and explained the situation. I did not ask for a refund but I did say it would be nice to receive some sort of credit. To which I got a reply similar to "if you didn't report them at the time they must not have been that bad"... I then replied sharing my reasoning for not being able to disclose and have them treated due to health concerns for the grandkids and mother in law. If the owner would have been at a minimum apologetic I would probably not leave the review. Nice View Huge Roaches

Great for a quick getaway

We had a blast. If we stayed longer I would have been frustrated with the beds (not comfortable) and lack of kitchen utensils (no cookie sheets). We were also far from the restaurants and downtown. But all that, the balconies and proximity to the beach were ideal. We enjoyed our time there.
