The Bentwood is an upscale B&B with all the comforts of home and more. If you're going to be in the Jackson/Grand Teton National park area, put this on your list to check out. Luxury, convenient, and spacious. The innkeepers add an extra incentive—friendly courteous, and always around when you need them.
Voted one of TOP 10 Bed & Breakfast Inns in the country and featured in Log Home Living. Your lodging options are abundant when planning a vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Grand Teton National Park. Glad we got it right the first time by staying at the Bentwood Inn Bed & Breakfast. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer place to stay. We weren't even checked out yet and already planning our return visit. Teton Village is five minutes away, Downtown Jackson Hole is approximately eight minutes away and The Grand Teton National Park is approximately ten minutes away. We stayed here for two nights September 15 - 17th. We were greeted by the Managers of this luxurious log home, Gene and Carol, upon arrival. There was a jar of freshly made warm chocolate chip cookies next to the guest book and we arrived just in time for their nightly wine and cheese tasting which began at 5:00 p.m. The wine and cheese tasting gave us an opportunity to meet some of the other guests staying at the inn. Gene lit the log burning fireplace for us which made for a very cozy evening. This magnificent custom log home backs up to a Moose Habitat and although we did not see any moose in the yard during our two day stay, we did see evidence of moose presence throughout the area. We stayed in the Bunkhouse room. It was CLEAN, cozy and comfortable. It featured a unique built in queen bed and an overhead loft with two double beds, a fireplace, balcony, flat screen television, nice magazine and book selection and a key to lock the door. This room faces the back yard. In the morning, Carol and Gene made us fabulous breakfasts. We had eggs benedict and scrambled eggs, along with fresh fruit, yoghurt, home cured salmon, english muffins, bagels, donut holes, coffee, a variety of hot tea, hot chocolate, etc. Carol buys organic greens from one of the local farmers and it sure tasted healthy! The continental breakfast begins from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and breakfast is served every morning from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. If your vacationing plans call for an earlier start, Gene and Carol will make you breakfast on the go (the bags are on the table with your last name on them) and you are free to make hot chocolate, coffee or hot tea for the road. They provide take out cups for you. Gene gave us a little history on this beautiful log home which is 23 years old but does not show it's age at all. It is immaculate, smoke free and well maintained. It is very close to the main road yet the trees in the front yard block all traffic noise. I have read some other reviews which state it was hard to find. If traveling from the Grand Tetons or Jackson Hole Airport, you will pass the Chuckwagon Supper entrance on the right hand side of the road and the Raven Haven Road will be minutes away on the same side of the road. Wonderful experience. We can't wait to return!
This place is so nice. From the time you drive into their parking lot in front of the Inn, to the front porch, to the inside and out, it's just so wonderful. A lot of great places inside the place to rest and relax. Their wine and cheese reception is lovely. The breakfast is outstanding. We are definitely going back.
Furnished in a tasteful, rustic way this place is very cozy and comfortable. Staff is super friendly and the apple crisp for breakfast was delicious. We arrived very late and as promised we found a welcome letter and snacks. Bentwood Inn is a perfect base for activities at Teton NP. I wish we would have booked after our backpacking tour to spoil our tortured bodies.
This Inn is just lovely. From the rustic great room with its stone fireplace and grand piano, to the wonderfully appointed rooms, and the private backyard deck with a hot tub...it is just perfect. You feel like you are out in the country. The Inn has bicycles you can use and the bike path is just across the front lawn. Across the road is a wonderful park where the Snake River flows. You are a 5 minute drive from Jackson Hole. In addition to the surroundings, the hosts couldn't be more accommodating. They provided wonderful breakfasts each day ( like peach pancakes), a lovely wine and cheese fest in the evenings, and generally were available to help with every and anything you needed to know. Our room had a built in bed, a loft with two twin beds, a huge TV , fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, separate shower and balcony. Very comfy and inviting. The bathroom was well appointed with the shampoos, conditioners, dryer etc. This was not just a place to stay but an experience. I highly recommend you stay here if you can. You won't be disappointed.
But for Gene and Carolyn, my event, which turned out to be fabulous had the potential for being a disaster. Our long weekend was more than what I had hoped for. Carolyn and Gene went completely above and beyond in this meticulously kept, luxurious, beautiful Inn. We were there for my birthday on the day of the total eclipse of the sun. I had been planning the party for several years and could not have been more happy. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The grounds were beautiful -- even to the moose and baby who "hung out" there. I had the whole Inn for 2 nights and 2 other nights shared with some other guests. They have a wine and cheese happy hour each afternoon which gave us an opportunity to meet others--all of whom we loved and felt bonded too! Gene and Carolyn arranged some of our outings -- like a white water rafting trip down the Snake River (a tad cold) and a wildlife safari into the Grand Tetons. Although I did not see a bvear, the Grand Tetons were breathtaking. All of my friends were equally happy -- even those who were staying elsewhere.
Our 2nd visit to the Bentwood Inn was again wonderful, from the wine and cheese and meeting other guests from 5-6 PM, to the gourmet breakfast in the morning, again, visiting with fascinating guests from all over. Our room was comfy, nice fireplace, great shower, quiet and cozy. The innkeepers Gene and Carol were gracious and made us feel like family, very welcoming. We highly recommend this B&B.
It was a pleasant experience for our whole family to live in Bentwood Inn. I wish I could stay longer. The hotel keepers were very friendly. The room was clean and well organized. The breakfast was excellent. I think it is an interesting hotel for kids too! My 2 kids were very excited by the beds arrangement us and we had a sleep better than other hotels! Also, we were told there are moose walking around the hotel. Overall, it is a really unique hotel that I will go there again next time if I visit Jackson.
My husband and I spent a week backpacking in the Tetons, and then spent three luxurious nights at the Bentwood. It was the perfect contrast to Clif Bars and trail mix! We loved the inn keepers, Gene and Carol, and we loved their cooking too. We were lucky enough to participate in a four-course private bistro dinner, and it was delicious and fun. The Inn is close to the park and the town is a beautiful bike ride away (plus they have bikes you can borrow!). The room was cute, clean, and comfortable. This hotel is one of National Geographic's Unique Lodges. Part of that title includes requirements for environmental sustainability (please see my comments below for more about this). It was hard to leave, and our wheels are already turning considering if we could make it back for a ski trip next time!
WE cam across this wonderful inn by accident. It is beautiful ad unique. I love the setting (off the road down a gravel driveway(and the wonderful wood interior.Everything is first class. Our breakfast was wonderful (egg dish, steal cut oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and more. I will definitely be back again. This is a wonderful spot to just relax, sit on the porch, enjoy the hot tub, or keep an eye out for elk. The young lady serving breakfast (a student at the University of Chicago) was delightful and helpful.
