We stayed here for just one night - made good use of the pool in the evening and wished it opened earlier in the morning for a bre-breakfast swim! The wifi wasn't working but we were told this was a temporary problem outside the hotel's control. We enjoyed a very good dinner, served a bit haphazardly but who's in a hurry in a rural hotel with fantastic views? So not a slick and professional hotel but very good value and friendly.
Very traditional hotel. Good value and very clean rooms. Breakfast was very simple but adequate. Would stay again. Did not have an evening but heard the food was very good. Small pool but plenty of shade. I
An extremely clean rustic hotel in a great position with superb views of the lake which is very low at present due to three dry winters. Large rooms and bathrooms. An adequate well maintained pool. Very helpful friendly staff Good buffet breakfast - the orange juice was a particular highlight. Unfortunately the evening meal was not of the same standard
Great staff, especially Jordie, very friendly and helpful. Basic hotel but in wonderful location, right on the lake. Visited in April and the pool was not open. Needs tidying around the outside but still loved it. We made the mistake of eating at El Charcon 2. Newly open along the lake. It was TERRIBLE. Would recommend El Charcon, which is along the road to Rute ,and the hotels restaurant. The dining room at the hotel is lovely, have eaten here before and wished we had again !!
What a pleasant surprise when one re-visits an excellent, small, local hotel and finds it every bit as good as it was 20 months earlier. Everything's still damned good! Slightly pre-season so the outdoor pool wasn't in use.
We stayed from the 8 Dec 2016 for a week. We chose the hotel for its location as it is central to The King's Walk ( Caminito del Rey) , Cordoba , El Torcal de Antequera and gorge walk near Granada. It has beautiful setting facing the reservoir. The room is spacious and spotless, the staff are extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. The food is excellent. What more can a traveller ask ?
Just returned from 1 night stay. Hotel has been partly refurbished and still is being. We thought the food was excellent (Lunch & Evening meal.) and plenty of it. Never been anywhere in Hotels where drinks are so inexpensive. Pint of beer and large wine total 4.50 Euro. Definitely. We will be going back, as we are only an hour and half drive away. Recommend to keep away from week-end and high Season as it is frequented by Locals as well as Hotel Guests. Loved the covered Courtyard Restaurant area - very authentic Spanish. Breakfast is Continental style. Take your own Toiletries only soap and shower Gel. Lovely Lakeside (water low at the moment though, but didn't matter.
This was recommended by our hotel reception. Iznajar was a good place to visit but the food was poorly presented, over salted, unappetising and some orders inedible. Lovely setting for a sunset over the lake but cannot be recommended given the food standards.
What can I say about this hotel , all the public areas are very clean and tidy ,the rooms are again very clean spacious and all spanish style and all have views of the magnificent lake and or surrounding countryside .This is out second visit to the hotel in Iznajar , and although I love this place there was just a couple of niggles which stopped me from giving it a 5 this time , firstly the waiter who did the breakfast short dark haired ,I found him very ignorant and hard to find at times when we needed more coffee , and the pool area , broken umbrellas and the pool seemed a little dirty with paint coming off the walls of the pool .APart from that the breakfast was good and the rest of the staff were excellent especially the lady serving drinks at night she was very friendly and smiled constantly .The food in the terrace at night was excellent and the area was fantastic
It was a nice accommodation in a great spot overlooking the lake! Pool area was nice, we were early enough for sunbeds and umbrellas. Pool looked a bit untidy with paint coming of the sides, but still looked clean! Room was clean and big enough - even with a cot! Bed was a bit uncomfortable, just a foam mattress, but for one night it was ok! Staff at reception was good, at the bar a bit slow. Drinks were pretty cheap! We would come back!
