Stayed 1st to 8th of October in a beautiful suite in the annex near by named Parentino with excellent views over the harbor/marina. The hotel, staff, food the town boat trips and everything else were excellent. The free ferry takes you to the island everything about it is first class the hotel on the island is a sister hotel to the Valamar Riviera so the facilities can be used. We used the pool and one evening we ate in the restaurant which you can do at no extra cost if on half board and you inform the reception in advance. The meal also had a great choice. We are 75 years old enjoyed it so much we will certainly return. Many thanks to all the staff at Valamar Riviera the Parentino the Valamar Isabella Island Resort and all the friendly people of Porec and the surrounding area.,.
If you want to enjoy Poreč for the weekend, the Valamar Riviera offers everything you need for a decent relaxed stay for a very good price. Breakfast buffet has a large variety and is well placed in the Hotel. Overall, I would recommend the Hotel to couples looking for a nice get-away weekend.
We were so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We were only staying in Porec to catch the ferry to Venice in our way to the Bologna airport so had no expectations whatsoever. We checked into this great upbeat and modern hotel to friendly front desk service and a spacious room with very comfortable bed and excellent modern shower. They opened the kitchen early so we could eat before the ferry and had a great selection. Our walk to the ferry was less than 50 meters so no stress at all. Highly recommended.
This is my first time staying in the Hotel Valamar Riviera, having spent my last three Istrian holidays in the now demolished Park Hotel in Rovinj. And it has to be said that from entering the hotel on the first day, to the day that we left seven days later our experience was one of absolute and total satisfaction. The location is first class being on the harbour sea front, and only a few moments walk in any direction taking you into the town of Porec. The Hotel itself is spotlessly clean, and well run by a very attentive and polite staff, whether that be on the Reception desk in the entrance lobby, in the dining room at mealtimes, where both the waiters, waitresses and the cooks behind the servery, and even the chamber maids always greet you with a smile and a hello. Our room which was on the fourth floor was of a very good size, well furnished and quiet, it was maintained to a very high standard throughout our stay by our chambermaid Sandra, any items that were used being replaced on a daily basis, the tea and coffee making facility was also an added bonus too. The buffet meals could not have been bettered for presentation, variety, quality and indeed quantity, and I have to say a very special thanks to Jela who was so obliging both at breakfast and during the evening meals, how can I ever thank you enough for those lovely omelettes created to my wishes each morning. The waiting staff in the dining room were all first class, being very attentive in their serving of drinks and quickly clearing away used plates, and in the morning at breakfast topping up our coffee cups as and when required. One additional bonus was the two free travel cards issued to us on our arrival that enabled us to travel on the Valamar owned ferry boat at any time we wished to the Island where the beach was available for our use, and we spent a number of relaxing afternoons enjoying the very tranquil atmosphere of the sea front loungers and enjoying drinks in the shade and reading our books. In essence we had a terrific time, and we both agreed that it had been a revelation given that the Park Hotel in Rovinj had been our only previous experience of an Istrian Hotel, but our experience of the Riviera Hotel is guaranteed to see us return, and I have already recommended it to some friends who are considering a first holiday in Croatia, and I can confidently say they will not be disappointed with their holiday destination. After our week we are both agreed that we would be hard pressed to find any better run, comfortable, clean and well positioned location, the staff who can in fact spoil a holiday, were absolutely first class and I cannot praise them any more than to say that they actually helped to make our stay such a memorable occasion, and we will most certainly be back. And I would urge the management to please do not alter anything, you have a business model to be proud of.
We arrived at the Valamar parking lot, parked up and got the hotel shuttle into Porec and the hotel. Reception was quick and friendly. On both our visits we got a room in the Villa Giulietta next door. You have to go outside the main hotel and into a separate building. That isn't very convenient and there is no lift. It makes you feel second class being in that part. Nice enough rooms. Shower, toiletries, safe, plenty of storage mini bar (at usual high prices) TV but only CNN BBC and Sky news channels, huge bed, desk. Air con didn't work- as so many guests report! Opened window and were fine. Worst aspect- awful Nescafe coffee with sugar and creamer added- undrinkable. Nice lounge in main hotel with excursion details. Breakfast was a bit coach tour level. No one to greet you, seat you and get drinks sorted. Good selection of food but items often ran out as it was so busy. The best bit of the hotel is the free ferry over to Sv Nikola island and the Isabella hotel. Great facility to visit and next time I would probably stop there rather than the Riviera. Valamar seem a great company with high standards.
First impression was hard to get to as drivers need to get buzzed thru Gate but it took several unanswered calls with traffic waiting. Check in went well and room in annex looked night. Upon returning from dinner our room was very hot. When the air conditioning didn’t work the front desk said they turned it off and wouldn’t turn it on, just open the window. Window opens into noisy public square with smoking just outside window. I told desk I was very disappointed and asked to speak to manager. None was available and nothing was done. Staff very unhelpful.
Stayed at the Riviera in September 2017. The Riviera has a great location on the seafront with Porec old town seconds away. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel rooms were excellent. Cleaning staff were on top of eveything and always smiling and cheerful. We stayed half board and the food was extremely good, so good in fact that we never ate out once (very unusual for us). All in all an absolute pleasure to stay there and we are definitely planning to return. Highly recommended.
The location of this hotel was very special being on the seafront and close to a very old interesting town. Having a sea view room was well worth it. The hotel itself was clean, well maintained and staff on reception helpful. The food was good, and if we had any concerns it was that the restaurant could get very busy in the evenings and the tables were packed in. Highly recommend both the hotel and the town for a good holiday.
We spent a night in Porec before heading to Venice. The ferry to Venice is literally across the street from the hotel, which is great. We had a room looking over the bay, and it was wonderful. The rooms are tiny - however, it still works. Breakfast was great. I would return.
This is the first time we have stayed at the Valamar Riviera (although not the first time in Porec) and we were mightily impressed with this hotel. We had a room on the third floor with a sea view - the room was immaculate, the bed huge, and the facilities first-rate. The food in the restaurant was excellent with a good variety on offer, and this changed daily. The service from all the staff was beyond reproach. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. The location is ideal for exploring the old town.
