Hotel is at the best and prime location of Sultan Ahmet area and all the famous historical places are on walking distance Staff is good and friendly

Recently stayed in this hotel. Pros: We received excellent service and attention. Owner made us feel as if we were at home. He helped arrange shuttle transfer to airport and provided orientation on how to get around base on our interest. The location is incredibly close to major sights. Price affordable. Wifi connection was great! Free Breakfast was adequate. Con: although the rooms were cleaned we stayed in the basement and my mom and I got beaten really bad not sure by what? We looked for possible bedbugs but unsure of what it could have been. We had difficulty sleeping specially first night :( this is our only big negative.

What the site lacks in amenities is more than balanced by a wonderful location, mere steps from major sites. Staff was very gracious. Major negative was in construction/appearance -- seemed as if they raided a demo site for material. Overall, a good experience and would stay there again.

Everything generally excellent. I was just slightly caught off guard by the long, steep staircase we had to ascend to reach our 4th floor city view apartment. Staff's hospitality was amazing. Location was perfect for exploring sites of old city Istanbul.

Hotel was ideally situated within 5 minutes walk of Blue Mosque, but on a quiet side street - so restful evenings. The staff were amazingly friendly and informative. Rooms clean and comfortable. Solo female traveler - very comfortable and safe.

We (me, my wife, my mother-in-law, and my niece) stayed at the Sultan House Hotel last summer. My wife and I have been to Turkey multiple times, but this was the first trip for mom and our niece. The location could not be better (for what we wanted to do - sightseeing) and the staff was extremely attentive and helpful. We stayed in one of the "Annex Apartments" that had two bedrooms and on bathroom. In retrospect, given that you had to walk through one room to get to the next (i.e. privacy was an issue), we would have chosen to stay in two separate rooms. However, this was a small "inconvenience" to deal with for all of the positives about the hotel and staff. You're not getting a 5-star hotel, but you are getting a clean, comfortable place to stay - run by extremely helpful/courteous staff.

it is a great hotel close to most tourist places awesome experience

The hotel is really comfortable in a great location, just 5 minute walking distance to the Blue Mosque. The hotel staff was really helpful and friendly, the hotel manager is a true example of the traditional Turkish hospitality, he even very kindly offered us a room upgrade without any cost. Breakfast was delicious and with a lot of good options. We would definitely go back to Istanbul and Sultan House and recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

There was a strong smell of humidity, and the room was very small. There were traces of mold greenish ceiling. we were afraid for our health and asked to change rooms. the manager of the hotel agreed to move us to the condition of paying an extra $ 30 per night. we agreed, we had no choice. a very very bad experience ... really desapointed :(

The only disappointment was rhe unclarity about weather the rate included breakfast. We booked four hotels in four nights in Istanbul and only Sultan House excluded breakfast at booking and we were unaware.

Location is very convenient. A bit noisy at night time. Rooms are ok, but not most comfortable. Staff are very friendly.

The staff upgraded us to an apartment in the annex building for free. We had incredible views of the blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara from our bed room. Breakfast was unlimited and incredibly delicious!! One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.

If location is your top priority, then the Sultan House is for you. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Our room (in the annex up the street) was dingy, the cleaning staff never came to our room one day and the breakfast was mediocre. Overall: so-so.

The Hotel isa samll 4 stars with 5 stars services, staff is so helpful, friendly and smiling all the time, I recommand this hotel to every body who needs a clean with reasonable price hotel.

The Sultan House staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and offered such a variety of dishes so that, as a vegetarian, I was able to start each day with a nutritious meal. The hotel is on a quiet little street but just a block from the hippodrome and a short walk to everything, and having a drink on the terrace was a great way to end a long day of sightseeing. As a single traveler, I felt completely safe - what a great place to stay.

We were in Istanbul for 8 days and 7 nights. The location of this hotel is excellent...within walking distance of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The daily free breakfast is very tasty and plentiful. The rooms are very nice and clean. Yunos the front manager is extremely nice and helpful and helped make our visit lovely. Yabaci is a small local restuarant a few blocks away....they have wonderful food and the owner is very friendly. If you go, you have to stop there for their incredible pide meals Definetly would stay at this hotel if we returned to Istanbul!!

couldn't ask for a better location, close to everything we needed, it was just hard to find in the beginning

This was a great little hotel, in the perfect location adjacent to the Hippodrome and close to all the historic landmarks. It was also walking distance from the Bosporus ferry landing, so no other transportation services were required upon arrival.

Nice, affordable hotel. Two minute walk to sightseeing. Friendly staff, offered to set up tours. Good breakfast. Rooms are small but recently renovated, tastefully decorated and clean.
