Ich hatte mit einem Abstand von fünf Tagen zwei Reservierungen in dieser Unterkunft. Da ich während meines ersten Aufenthalts eine bedrohliche Situation auf dem Weg zur Unterkunft erlebt habe, hat der Inhaber mir angeboten, mich bei meinem zweiten Aufenthalt in einer belebteren Umgebung unterzubringen und mir den Namen der alternativen Unterkunft auch genannt. Ich habe dem Vorschlag zugestimmt. Soweit ist alles in Ordnung. Tatsächlich wurde ich dann in einer anderen Unterkunft untergebracht, die sich im zweiten Kellerschoss befand und ein Fenster hatte, durch das kaum Tageslicht reinkam. Man hat auf die ca. 40 cm entferne Außenmauer des Nachbargebäudes geschaut. Da ich dort nicht bleiben wollte, hat man mir für diesen Tag ein Appartement im Dachgeschoss angeboten, für das ich 25 Dollar zusätzlich gezahlt habe. Das ursprünglich gebuchte Appartement im Antique Boutique war inzwischen bereits anderweitig vergeben, also konnte ich nicht dorthin. Am zweiten Tag war dieses Appartement im Dachgeschoss auch belegt, also musste ich es räumen. Daraufhin hat man mir wieder ein Appartement im Untergeschoss angeboten. Es gab eine Alternative für einen Tag, für das ich wieder 25 EUR hätte zuzahlen müssen. Am nächsten Tag hätte ich wieder umziehen müssen. Darauf habe ich mich dann nicht mehr eingelassen. Ich habe mit dem Inhaber vereinbart, dass die restlichen zwei Tage storniert werden. Die Stornierung der verbleibenden zwei Tage hat funktioniert. Insgesamt war ich aber sehr frustriert.

Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße unweit des Hauptknotenpunktes des beliebten Cihangir Viertels. Zahlreiche gute Restaurants, Cafes und Supermärkte sind in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die ruhige Lage der Unterkunft kann anziehend für Straßenräuber sein, wenn man nachts alleine beziehungsweise betrunken unterwegs ist. Diese Erfahrung musste ich leider machen. Dies kann ich aber nicht der Unterkunft zurechnen, die Umgebung ist nämlich eher gehoben. Das Appartement ist klein, aber für einen viertägigen Aufenthalt war es ausreichend. Das Gebäude war in einem sanierten Zustand. Das Bad war neuwertig. Die Sauberkeit war zufriedenstellend. Es roh manchmal etwad modrig im Bad und an der Küchenzeile, aber das ist in allen historischen Gebäuden in Istanbul so. Ein großes Manko war, dass ich nicht das gebuchte Appartement mit Balkon bekommen habe, sondern ein anderes Appartement ohne Balkon. Der Inhaber hat das mit mir nicht im Voraus kommuniziert und das Thema bei meiner Ankunft bagatellisiert.
