Very good hotel, mountain view from the window. A very good restaurant on the groundfloor. Breakfast is included in the room rate and can be enjoyed on the 1st floor. Parking is available in the garage at 12 EUR per night.
Stayed for 11 nights, check-in was trouble free and all staff helpful and professional. Hotel is well located for access to trams and buses and easy walking distance to the city centre. Breakfast and meals looked nice however I thought they were not competivly priced, there is a lot of local places offering breakfast and evening meals at more affordable prices. The bar however served a fair range of drinks at roughly the same price of those in the city centre. I was confused to find the bar only open at certain hours of the day, I feel this is a missed opportunity for the hotel to gain additional income. The room was very clean and comfortable with functioning a/c. Despite being in a main road it was very quiet and aided in a good nights sleep. Like most of the hotel I found the decor to be rather dull and dated, maybe the hotel is due a refurbishment soon. Overall the hotel met my needs and I would probably return again.
Stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Good location and room spotlessly clean, quite small but had tea/coffee making facilities plus small fridge which was very handy. Room itself was at end of a corridor and noisy during early hours of morning waking me up ( due to pipes). Excellent buffet breakfast and member of staff Laira was fabulous.
Menu creativity - Zero Food quality - Zero After staying at a very nice Mercure the previous evening with an admirable, creative menu and excellent food you cannot begin to imagine our disappointment with this establishment.
The hotel is modern. The room amenities are not very good. As an example I asked for an iron and ironing board, I was advised that this is not available and would need to use a common ironing room (in a different room). Also no room service before 7pm. Laundry service is not great, needs to be collected before 8am and they do not follow instructions. I request for my clothes not to be washed over 40deg and to be dried naturally without a dryer. This was ignored and my clothes were shrunk when I received it. Also I stayed in a 'privilege room' with the assumption that it was a large room, this is not the case. All rooms are of the same size, privilege means free drinks from the in-room fridge. Overall an average stay for the same price as what larger chains like Hilton and Marriott charge.
Stayed here for one week while working at the my company's Grenoble office. The hotel is ok, and that's it. The staff is very nice and talks to you and seems interesting in you. The breakfast is also good. Considering this is in France. The room is also ok, and cleen. The only thing to complain on is the location. There is nothing around here. There is so many nice locations in Grenoble but this is not one of them. But if you don't mind walking a lot, the hotel is ok. And....... The hotel bar and restaurant is closed in the weekends. Really?! And I wish there was a gym here!
We've visited this hotel en route to southern France. The hotel is situated in a pretty busy street, with a tramway-stop just around the corner. The lobby is well decorated and there is a kind and helpful staff. As a le club Accor Hotels gold member we got a free room upgrade - which gave us a privilege room. The size of the room is not much bigger than a normal room, but with the extra facilities (bathrobe, extra amenities in the bathroom and a filled minibar free of charge) it made us feel welcome. The bed, with the for Mercure's typical two pillows (hard and soft), was fine. With the car safely parked in the (fair priced) car park, could we go and enjoy the beauty of Grenoble. The only negative point on this hotel is the fact that the rooms are a bit dated. When the bathrooms would be renovated (a shower that is able to let people from over 180cm shower) and the hallways would be painted in a less 80ies yellow - the hotel would be even more modern and welcoming.
The hotel was good, basic breakfast, and courteous staff at reception. The room did not have Windows that could be opened and the air con was not cooling to the expected levels. But the bed was comfortable and wifi very reliable.
the best hotel in Grenoble if you need to stay there one week hotel has two parking place, one is for bigger cars (Honda CRV) I like breakfast especially table with local products you have to visit the restaurant at hotel
The hotel itself is anonymous and as chain hotels are these days - functional and stripped of any personality, charme or soul. However, as a seasoned traveller, that's all something one knows when booking. We booked this particular hotel, because they claim to have guest parking. They do - of some sort - in a garage under the hotel. We were given instructions to get there - around the block - but when we got there, it was full. Round the block again, and we were directed to a "spare" space in another garage. Around the block a third time. It was there, but the garage gate was going uo and down as it wished and the access as well as the space itself was so narrow that it cost us a severe scratch on the door handle. Not everyone drives Twingo's, and if you really want to boast your parking, then add a disclaimer that people with medium-to-full-size cars should stay away. The service was indifferent as the rest of the experience, and I really don't know why I keep booking rooms in chain hotels - really...
