Exceptional service sets this hotel apart. Staff were consistently helpful, kind and keen to make our stay as happy as possible. We were surprised to find the hotel was situated in a small town as we'd imagined a more rural setting, but this wasn't a disadvantage. And while Terme Manzi isn't that close to the beach or Ischia town, the complimentary shuttle service made all the difference. We never waited more than 15 mins, even when calling up at short notice. The spa was a huge bonus. My husband had a back problem during our stay but was much improved after a massage from Barbara, a physiotherapist. We didn't eat in the Michelin star restaurant but were impressed by the food at the main restaurant, which has a pleasant outdoor terrace. We also loved the rooftop pool. The hotel manager was often around, and made a point of greeting guests when they arrived. There was also manager's cocktail party on the fabulous roof terrace. All in all, we felt Terme Manzi was an extremely well run hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, and we'd definitely go back. It was in keeping with our experiences of other Relais & Chateaux establishments.
We loved everything about Terme Manzi and cannot wait to go back. The hotel itself is a feast for the eyes: the mosaics, the orchids, the greenery. The indoor thermal pool was fantastic, but we found we had to give equal time to the equally beautiful outdoor pool. The spa services were excellent. The staff throughout the hotel -- whether at the concierge desk, the breakfast buffet, the poolside restaurant, etc -- were courteous and extraordinarily helpful. It was the highlight of our trip to Italy.
Renovated hotel with great expansive spa amenities. Indoor Thermal bath pool, sauna, steam room, outdoor rooftop pool and sun deck. Free shuttle to Casamicciola, Ischia Port, Negombo Thermal Park and San Montano Beach. Needs to reserve shuttle to ensure availability, shuttle service stops around 6:30ish. Within walking distance to Casamicciola (12-15 min) for dining options and shops. Buffet American breakfast included. Superb service from the front desk, manager, wait staffs and housekeepers. Hotel is kept clean, housekeeper constantly vacuumed the carpet. New equipments at the gym, however, the AC was not turned on, worked out in the heat, almost passed out. Pool and spa are clean and beautiful. Turn down service with cookies in the evening was a nice touch. Transfer from the port to the hotel could be tricky for the first timer. Driver did not meet us at the port. There was a designated stop for the hotel transfer that we weren't informed. We ended up taking a cab which costed us 25 Euro for 10 min ride. Overall, we had pleasant stay. The greatest assets of this hotel are the staffs, friendly, knowledgeable, professionals, and "old school" politeness that we truly appreciate.
Good quality hotel with large and comprehensive spa. Roof top pool and bar area provide interesting views and breeze is a welcome bonus on hot days. Slightly busy location and some rooms can experience noise from road. Walk to coast takes about 20 minutes. Hotel has regular minibus to private beach at Lido di San Montano. Nice selection of local restraunts close by. Hotel has two restraunts one with a Michelin chief, both of which are very good .
In love with the interior design of this hotel.. all the beautiful marble and statues in the reception are just magic. The manager and staff were very welcoming, and he had to change our room for a more spacious one. The rooms' designs is beautiful, especially the tiles. The restaurants they offer are good. And the waiters are very attentive and welcoming. The only downside of this hotel is it not located in the beach, though the view from the outdoor pool is priceless. The hotel offers shuttle to get you to the beach and town which is good. Definitely will come back again.
I had booked the hotel directly several months before we visited, and really, the hotel reception at that part of the process couldn't have been better, really helpful. They arranged a transfer from the airport to the ferry, and then to the hotel once on Ischia. We didn't have to touch our luggage. When we arrived, the manager gave us a personal guided tour of the hotel, and was really helpful. The room was nice, small but very well appointed with a nice balcony. What I didn't expect, was to over look the courtyard of the hotel, and then the Main Street beyond....I had expected it to be more remote, but to be honest, it was interesting and we had no noise issues. But the main plus point for this hotel is the service. I have found that Relais and Chateaux hotel's can be a little stiff in terms of service. This hotel has the most lovely staff, friendly, helpful and really, they can't do enough to please. Drinks are always served from a trolley at your table, and accompanied by nibbles, food at breakfast is taken from you if you walk carrying anything, and delivered to your table, the pool area is quiet, beautifully appointed and relaxing, and overall, people smile, talk and are helpful. We met with the General Manager at a reception and he was engaging and eager to hear any feedback. The shuttle service is available to transport guests around the area, and the entire check out process was painless. I would come back here in a heartbeat.
Just returned from a wonderful stay at The Terme Manzi Hotel & Spa to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and found the hotel and staff to be first class. The rooms were well appointed and lavishly decorated and our room (343) had a lovely small balcony area overlooking the terrace below. The roof top pool and sun lounging areas were excellent and the spa well equipped. Thoroughly recommend the spa treatments also. Above all, the customer service was faultless - all staff we encountered during our staff couldn't do enough for you and made our stay extra special. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.
We have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at the hotel. The hotel was immaculate in the communal areas and in our room. The staff couldnt do enough for you from carrying our plate at breakfast to complimentary morning fruit drink around the pool. The shuttle bus to the town and beach was excellent, very efficient and always on time. The only downside to our trip was the flight home as we were delayed for our 2 hours due to Easyjet. Everything else was fantastic and we would definetly recommend the hotel.
Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I am Olympic Gold Medalist in complaining about the deficiencies of hotels and restaurants. I have just returned from five days at Terme Manzi and am speechless with admiration. From the moment that we were picked up from the ferry – by the elegantly turned out Michaelli in his smart Mercedes shuttle – until we were dropped off at the Hydrofoil Terminal on our way back, there was not a false note. All the staff were brilliant and rightly very proud of their hotel. The manager was always on hand, and Bernadette 'Benny' on reception was a beacon of help and good humour. She showed my wife four possible rooms to find the quietest (129/131 or the rooms directly above), without a squeak. The huge thermally heated pool downstairs was a delight after a hard days walk in the hills. Our 'deal' included a meal in the Michelin starred Mosaic restaurant. A memorable evening. Quite apart from the floor show and flummery, the talented chef realised that food must look good, smell good and taste good. He passed on all counts and cannot be far from his second star. We had not had such a complete 5* experience since the Singapore Shangri'la some years ago. Well done everyone! If you are looking for a beach holiday, the Terme Manzi is probably not for you. But if you want an oasis of calm and excellence from which to explore this beautiful island, look no further. We shall be back.
A bit far from the harbor and town, but have shuttles highly available. Room pretty small (couldn’t open some drawers etc.) Décor lacks character. Breakfast excellent in lovely patio. Music piped thru much of hotel doesn’t add to the character. Thermal pool a real pleasure added to the regular rooftop pool – and the hotel will transport you to a very nice seaside beach as well.
