Location is key here! Rooms are nice, but quite old,The hair dryer needs to be updated for sure. The mattress needs an update too. But I would still stay here again. The staff was wonderful,The location on the beach & to shop & go to the Castle,it's all in walking distance! Love this area & the people. Even our Cab driver Guissepi, He was wonderful & knew the Island & it's history!! The bakery items at breakfast were also fabulous!!
We spent 4 nights here with our 2 young children from August 21-25, 2017 and it was incredible in every way. We had 2 adjoining rooms for which there was an outside door, thus closing it off as a suite. We had a corner room with a sea view connecting with a room on the side of the building, but even the side room offered a great view of the sea and Castello Aragonese. The views in the public spaces in the lobby are jaw dropping - almost too good to be true. The decor of the hotel against the backdrop of the sea - especially the breathtakingly balmy blue and white dining area. The entire staff was so friendly, the breakfast was lovely and we have already booked another stay, we enjoyed ourselves so much!
We had booked a room with a balcony that looked out towards the castle. The room was great, the staff incredible and the food very good, the nightly live piano entertainment made having a night cap after dinner a must! The staff were very attentive - with ladies getting a flower with their coffee cup every morning. Service around the beach and pool was excellent and the facilities were amazing. The spa was adequate and the massages were good. The hotel offer a gym ... But this is a bit of an exaggeration- a few bikes, kettle weights and a trex system in a roof terrace is a bit light! Great location and we enjoyed our stay.
Fabulous 3 nights in Ischia....great views from the shower, beautiful venue on the rooftop for sunning and dinner, wonderful live music after dinner and very well located right on the sea....will return!!
Fifth year running and it's just great to be back. Someone said welcome home and that sums up how we all feel in our family from our thirteen year old to our twenties sons and us. Classic Italian elegance. It's not glitzy so don't expect that. Beautiful rooms overlooking the sea. Private small beach and pontoon for swimming in a fresh clean sea. Service with a smile wherever you go. I could mention the wonderful service in reception but the same applies to the bar and restaurant and pool area and bedrooms. I just love the dinner sitting on the seafront with beautiful food and great service. Ischia is very crowded in the day but at night you have a transformation to a tranquil setting on the sea and views of the castle. Time for a game of cards and piano music in the bar and a good night's sleep. Thanks again until next year.
This was our fourth stay in beautiful Ischia and our third stay at this wonderful hotel. I stayed here with my wife for 9 days at the beginning of July, we had been on a 12 day trip to celebrate her 50th birthday including a 3 day stay in Florence. The Miramare Hotel is situated in a film set location with stunning views of the castle, Naples Coast and neighbouring islands. The hotel is located on the beach and is a 2 minute walk to the restaurants and shops in Ischia Ponte (10 minutes to the castle). It is a 10 minute walk the other way to the start of the shops and restaurants in Ischia town centre and about 20 – 25 minutes to the port and surrounding restaurants. The number 7 bus passes the hotel every 15 minutes and travels to the port. We always stay on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast and service is always fantastic and we generally dine outside. We will also use the restaurant occasionally for lunch and the food and service is always excellent. However, the best part of the hotel are the staff and management team who are all absolutely fantastic. They are beautiful people and cannot do enough for you. On the evening that we first arrived the bar staff had organised champagne and cake to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Special thanks to the bar staff Jhonny, Gennaro, Gerry and the Legend, Mr Agostino for making our stay fantastic fun and Tutto bene as always. We will be back soon.
Wonderful hotel perfectly situated right on the beach of stunning Ischia overlooking the castle. Small rooms but clean and adequately equipped - the one thing that really set this hotel apart was the service. Without exception - staff were superb. Great pool if a little small and the hot tubs on the roof a nice place to relax for an hour. When temperatures hit 40 - the indoor pool also provided a little shade. The outdoor pool and sun bed area led down straight into the sea via a few steps and the sea is clean and crystal clear - the kids loved floating around with their snorkels and li lo. I would echo the experience of other contributors - ALWAYS ask for a price when entering a taxi otherwise they will think of a number and double it. Expect to pay around 20 euro from hotel to the port - give them a chance and they will rip you off. Some great little restaurants around the port area and worth a visit. Try a boat trip around the island - some simply stunning views. A trip to the top of the castle is also a must - the little restaurant at the top is a welcome stop off in the heat for a cold drink and an ice cream. Thanks for the most wonderful stay and compliments to absolutely every member of staff we had the pleasure to meet.
Superb location overlooking the Aragon Castle and with views across the sea to the island of Procida. The hotel is right on the beach and also has two sundecks with a few steps straight down into the sea for immediate swimming in clear deep water. Lovely restaurant by the beach and very nice bar by the pool with comfy outdoor sofas to enjoy an aperitif with stunning views of the imposing castle. The roof garden jacuzzis were fun and relaxing on the day beds while taking in the panoramic views from the rooftop was a very enjoyable experience. There is also a lovely restaurant on the roof. Breakfast is excellent and can be taken in the very stylish air conditioned ground floor restaurant, again with fantastic sea views. There is also an outdoor terrace if you prefer your breakfast al fresco. Little extra touches like a flower served on the tea cup were made by the attentive staff. One of the best things about the Miramare is it's perfect location. It's a 10 minute walk to the castle and the old town starts just outside the hotel, where there is also a supermarket for all your day trip needs. To reach the newer town (and the port) stay on the road that the hotel is on and walk uphill to a huge variety of shops and restaurants. The port is at the end of this road, which is about a 25 minute walk, and you will have a great choice of waterside restaurants. There is a jetty right next to the hotel and a boat trip is highly recommended, especially to the little town of Sant Angelo, where there are no cars. We paid 80 Euros to Sant Angelo and the boatman can take you into a small cave (grotto) on the way. The return using the boat company on the Sant Angelo jetty was slightly more at 100 Euros so you may want to book a return with the boat company next to the Miramare, although we didn't want to be locked into a specific time. You can get a boat pretty much immediately. One tip when taking a taxi from Naples Airport to Beverello for the hydrofoil to Ischia: Ask the price first - otherwise the taxi driver will think of a number and double it! It should be about 25 Euros depending on how many bags you have. The hydrofoil is 20 Euros each (one way) and you will have to pay 2 Euros per suitcase. A taxi from the port to the Miramare e Castello is 20 Euros including 4 suitcases. This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location.
We had a fantastic holiday here . The location on the beach and the employees in the hotel are the hotels biggest assets by a mile The employees all went out there way to make it a great experience Is it a 5* hotel ? mmmmmmm not really We had a nice room with a marvellous view , but the bathroom was small and not up to 5* standard But it didn't spoil the visit, the good points far outweigh the the not so good! If you are planning on going to Ischia Porto , this is worth considering
My husband and I stayed two nights the Miramare e Castello Hotel in Ischia. It is located on the water and has beautiful views across the Ocean and up and down the nearby coast. The private beach has beach chairs and umbrellas, inviting you to sit and enjoy the view or go in for a dip. Many people were enjoying having a dip and it was a great beach for families. The room was fantastic and there was an outdoor verandah off the bedroom which had a big day bed and a table and chairs to sit and watch all the activity around you. You could have had a meal there as well though when we were there it was too hot for us. The bathroom was a dash of bold colour with yellow and white tiles dazzling you as you walked in. Very Italian and perfect for the setting. Off to the right was the Castello Aragonese, a medieval castle set on a hill to protect the town folk in the times of pirates. Very romantic and also a reminder of the history of the Island. We enjoyed a visit to the Castle and found that it has been a backdrop for a number of films. We also found that there is a film festival and various concerts held in Ischia taking advantage of the wonderful scenery. Would love to have gone to one but nothing on while we were there. We had a fabulous meal in the rooftop restaurant and the waiters were excellent. As we were only there for a short while, the best way to see things was to walk through the nearby streets and get a feel for the town. The Hotel is located within a vibrant community and it was great to see the locals having a chat, looking out at the activity from their window or enjoying a stroll. We would happily go back there is we were to return to Ischia.
