The Green Lake Getaway - Shared Lake Access!
This is a cute 3-bedroom, 2-bath home in Interlochen with shared lake access to Green Lake (including a shared dock) , which is a scenic natural lake just southwest of Traverse City. The home was recently renovated with a number of new features including new A/C, new hot water heater, and new appliances! It has cable television and great cable WiFi! The home is in a great location that is quiet, peaceful, and relaxing; but just 21 miles (about a 30-minute drive) from downtown Traverse City!
We have a local property manager that is available to address any guest issues or concerns.
This great property that sits on 10 private acres has shared access to Green Lake as well as private access to the the Betsie River (which flows from Green Lake out to Lake Michigan). This makes it ideally suited for nature lovers as well as people that love boating or fishing. Green Lake is suitable for motorboats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards and, where the property is located, the Betsie River is great for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. (It's really too shallow for motorboats.)
The property is technically in Interlochen, Michigan, but it is only 1 mile from the unincorporated village of Karlin, Michigan, which has a cute little family restaurant and a little local grocery store. The village of Interlochen itself is about 7 miles northeast of the property. Interlochen is worldly renowned for the Interlochen Center for the Arts, which is a very prestigious art school. Interlochen has a nice collection of specialty stores, restaurants, cafes, and a couple grocery stores.
A great thing about this property is its proximity to so many other northern MIchigan attractions:
* Interlochen State Park is only 6 miles from the property. It has the distinction of being the very first state park in Michigan and it has an excellent array of hiking trails as well as access to both Green Lake and Duck Lake for swimming and fishing. * Downtown Traverse City, with a wonderful collection of shops, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment options, is only 21 miles to the northeast of the property! * The start of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is only 22 miles to the northwest of the property! * Crystal Lake and the cute little town of Beulah are just 19 miles west of the property! * Lake Michigan and the fun beach town of Frankfort are just 26 miles west of the property! * Crystal Mountain Resort (for downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, golf, etc.) is only 13 miles southwest of the property!
Thus, this property really offers both a wonderful array of things to do right at the property as well as the ability to explore all of the main attractions of northwest Michigan!
Guests have full access to the entire property! The only portion that is off-limits to guests is a storage closet in the house.
The property provides casual, but very comfortable, accommodations for up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms. It features new air conditioning (which is rare in the area), cable television (including television and cable in the master bedroom), and great cable WiFi. It is on 10 private acres with shared lake access on Green Lake. (The lake access and dock is shared with the owner of a nearby vacant lot who occasionally camps on the vacant lot and uses the shared lake access and dock a few times each year. The lake access and dock is across the street from the property and approx. 100 yards down the street from the property.) The property also borders the Betsie River. Thus, it works great for boating on Green Lake and/or boating on the Betsie River. (The river is fairly shallow and is really only workable for kayaks, canoes, or paddleboards.)
Note that the property is also very pet-friendly! Up to 2 dogs are allowed and the private kennels on the property along with the heavily forested 10 private acres and the lake access makes this property a paradise for dogs to enjoy exploring!
It is suggested the guests have their own transportation.
Please note that the property does utilize well water. You may want to bring bottled water for drinking.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 3 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board.

4th of July Stay
We stayed here 4 nights to meet my son’s future in-laws, visit the wedding venue (BlueBridge) and celebrate the holiday. The house was clean and had all the necessary accommodations. The yard was just okay and in need of tidying the fire pit area. The AC was broken for the entire trip and due to the heat, sleeping was a challenge. The owner provided fans and was responsive to our communication. Still a steep price to pay for the lack of AC and condition of the outside of the property.

Well set-up house
The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for preparing our own food. In addition, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean.Communication with the property manager was excellent and the whole process of staying there was a simple process.

Roomy, relaxing, and convenient location
We normally go to Mesick area in September. This lovely home was a perfect fit. It was more central to all our favorite places, roomy indoors and out, and a quiet location. The house was clean and the Property Manager quick to respond and friendly. We highly recommend it.

50 year class reunion
The property served our intentions as well as being in our own home. It was clean and well-equipped with whatever was needed. The only shortcomings were the barbeque grill was inoperable and had to use the one at the fire pit quite a distance from the house, also there were no outdoor dining tables. the beach access we never got to witness due to the fact it is too far for us old people with disabilities to walk, and no parking on the side of the narrow road. The shower head should be lowered in the master bath for someone who doesn't; have a seven-foot reach. There was a problem with the television in the master bedroom due to a dead power outlet. We had deer visit us daily and the surroundings were tranquil. overall a 4 out of 5 stay.

Excellent property
The house was great. It was clean when we got there and all the amenities worked fine. The only suggestion we would have is to have some kindling / firewood on hand for the fire pit. We had to go exploring into the woods to find fallen branches to use the fire pit. All in all a great vacation home.

Good rental for our purposes
The home had a nice layout and was spacious enough for 5 adults to comfortably stay. It was a great location just 30 minutes from Traverse City. We were admittedly disappointed that the lake access was down the road and across the street.

Mother & Father Memorial Weekend
House was tucked in the woods and had an open backyard with firepit (which we did not have a chance to use, but would have been nice). Kitchen was stocked nicely with dishes and appliances for preparing meals and dining. Keypad entry was convenient (no misplaced keys to worry about).
Bedrooms & bathrooms were tidy and clean. A lucky find for our Sister's long weekend trip.
