Stay North - Mustio

Mustio is a restored countryside home in Mustio with space for up to 14 guests across the main house, guesthouse, and sauna building. Originally built in 1912 and carefully renovated over several years, it combines traditional character with modern comforts. Two saunas, a hot tub, large indoor and outdoor dining areas, a gym, fireplaces, and a secluded setting create plenty of room for groups to spend time together.

Mustio is a property with a long history. The main house was originally built in 1912 and served as the centre of farming life in the area. Over five years, the building was extensively rebuilt while preserving its original character, with historic windows restored by hand and original floors and ceilings retained wherever possible. Today, the property combines traditional architecture with the comforts needed for larger group stays.

Accommodation is spread across the main house, a separate guesthouse, and a sauna building, giving guests flexibility and privacy while still keeping everyone close together. The main house includes generous living areas, a well equipped kitchen with a Smeg gas stove and oven, and dining space for larger groups. The guesthouse provides additional sleeping space, while the sauna building offers further accommodation close to the water.

One of the property`s standout features is its two saunas. In addition to the smaller sauna in the main house, there is a separate wood fired sauna building that can accommodate larger groups and has become a favourite gathering place for family evenings and celebrations. A hot tub, firepit, gas BBQ, and outdoor dining area for up to 20 guests extend the living space outdoors.

The surrounding grounds are private, with no nearby neighbours, creating a sense of space rarely found so close to local attractions. Guests can make use of the barn gym, which includes free weights, a workout bench, a punching bag, a yoga mat, and a pull up bar.

The property is located in Mustio, one of Southern Finland`s most historic areas. Mustio Castle and its parklands are nearby, offering walking paths, dining, and cultural events. Fiskars Village, known for its artisan workshops, design shops, cafés, and restaurants, is an easy day trip, while Nordcenter provides one of Finland`s best known golf courses.

The combination of history, nature, and space makes Mattaberg well suited to family gatherings, celebrations, and longer stays with friends.
