Great location for visiting chateaus and seeing the region. Looks impressive when you arrive, but the roads are unfinished, rubbish piled everywhere, gardens not looked after so weeds galore. Suggestions for improvement - small gravel area to the rear of each apartment with a table and chairs, finish the roads. We stayed for a week and found the kitchen facilities basic at best. Upsides - clean, tidy, daily towel changes, nice bar and pool area.
Stayed 1 night (Saturday) with my family (husband and 2 children, 11 years old and 8 years old). We had our own mini apartment, double bed and sofa bed with small kitchen, fridge and dishwasher, separate toilet and bathroom. We had a delightful stay, swan in the pool (albeit a little cold) the children loved the bouncy castle and table football and generally making friends with the other children. In the evening we stayed for the BBQ and enjoyed listening to a guitarist and singer. BBQ was a little expensive €25 Euro adult €9.90 child but there was a buffet starter and dessert with choice of fish and meat on the BBQ. In the morning we had the buffet breakfast and the children particularly liked the pancakes and waffles. A small cooked breakfast, along with continental breakfast with cereals were offered. Supermarket 2 mins drive down the hill from the hotel to pick up provisions, also has pharmacy if required. We'd recommend Villa Bellagio!
We (a family of 5), stayed here for 1 night only. Wished it was longer, but we were travelling on to our holiday house the next day. We were swiftly checked in and drove round to the car park where our 'cottage' was. Our cottage was right in front of the pool!!!! Perfect! We used the vast area of grass to play cricket on too. The clubhouse was only a 30 second walk away too. They had a Hawaiian night on, but we didn't participate. We bought food from the local Lidl and ate in our dinner and breakfast. Back to our cottage........ Spotlessly clean. We had small kitchen (no kettle, but we improvised), dinning area and lounge (with double sofa bed) and downstairs toilet. Upstairs, a separate toilet, bathroom, double and a twin room. It was all just perfect! We really wanted to stay, as it was just so lovely. We played ping pong challenges till late at night (just outside the clubhouse) and the younger children enjoyed the bouncy castle and played a little football. All in all, a fantastic stop over and we will be back!
First you must know that the reception shuts at 11pm. After that you are on your own. The rooms have no air conditioning, so if it is hot outside, you cant sleep properly. Big rooms, but no place to keep your bags and open them. Surprisingly small bathrooms. Rooms are situated far from the reception, so be prepared to drag your bags and ruin the wheels on the uneven road. Only good thing is that the rooms are decently furnished. Would not want to stay here again. Looks like someone had a good idea but paid no attention to finishing the place. Also they dont clean the rooms daily.
Large new house - 2 floors, quiet, good location nearby Amboise downtown (by car). Price for low season was 110 euros (6 adults + 2 kids). Swimming pool but not in winter. Can enjoy Chateau de la Loire and Winenary visit.
Our family visited this hotel on the way back from the south of France for one night. Upon arrival the hotel looked good and our room was a nice size however the bathroom utterly stank with no working extractor fan. Smell was so bad we couldn't use it and complained upon check out. The man on reception was not interested and refused any compensation. Very poor service and we would never return.
Amazing apartment for the price!! Lovely and cool and clean. Big swimming pool. Close to a supermarket. Comfortable bedrooms. We didn't use the bar or restaurant but that looked nice, we chose to cook ourselves in the adequate kitchen.
The location and size of the residence are great. 5km into Amboise, 10km to Chenanceau. But I was very disappointed with the facilities: no internet in the rooms (only reception); no aircon (my mid-reading I guess); virtually no useful kitchen items...it seems like the place was half completed and all the details forgotten. Could be so much better.
The hotel is 10 minutes away from Amboise by car, the place is clean and have plenty of green areas. The studios are spacious and have a little kitchen although we never used it, as we had breakfast and dinner included with our booking. There is a big supermarket and a petrol station 2 minutes away by car anyway. The food was really good, traditional French cuisine, the first night the service was a bit slow, but they solved it the following day. The staff were friendly and speak English and Spanish. One thing I should mention is that you'll have to make your own bed, they don't clean the rooms every day, but they do provide you with fresh towels every time you want. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely would come back.
The hotel turned out to be more like a time share. Comfortable and clean. It was close to amboise so we ate there. If the breakfast was anything to go by the other meals would have been good. There were lot's of things for children to do. And the place was a great find.
