We stopped in Amboise for an overnight stay on our way to the Dordogne region and this was a great place to stay. We arrived at the hotel really early (around Noon) because we were hoping on the off-chance that our room would be ready, but it wasn't so we headed to the town of Amboise for the afternoon. When we came back around 4pm, the guy at the front desk wasn't sure if our room was ready so we had to wait a bit and then finally got in. The room itself was great - queen size bed and then a little couch that pulled out to a single bed. The room was air conditioned, clean and modern. The next morning we went to check out and she said, okay so I have a few drinks from the bar last night and 2 breakfasts this morning. Well, we hadn't been to the bar or had breakfast so clearly, someone had charged the food to our room (I assume accidentally). She asked me a few times and I explained that we had not eaten so after probing, she took my word for it and only charged me for the room, which I appreciated.

Excellent value at about 118 Euro per night for an Executive room. This includes a wide selection of free drinks from the small minibar and a Nespresso machine. Hotel is clean with helpful friendly staff. Spacious grounds with small pool, two tennis courts and mini golf. Great lawns for dogs! Restaurant not great, better to walk into town about 20 minutes or so away. Quite a steep hill on the way back. Many coach tours use it so on the downside not much atmosphere , on the upside you often have the place almost to yourself whilst they visit the chateaux.

Perfect overnight stop. Staff very keen to help but one a bit over zealous and took away my tea and orange juice while I was getting rest of my breakfast 😑 Hot Breakfast items wasn't that hot, probably why loads left on trays. Evening meal was perfect. Evening meal was perfect a good choice.

We have stayed at Novotel Amboise many times but this year we felt the restaurant service and quality of food had gone down on previous years. For instance it took us 4 attempts to get an extra bottle of water to take to our room. We had an executive room but had only two small cartons of milk with which to make cups of tea. We asked at reception for some more cartons but this was a major effort for the receptionist as she had to break away to get some from a distant store cupboard. I hate to say this but we probably not stay there again. This is such a pity because we both loved the area.

Another superb stay with you - we wouldn't choose anywhere else for our trips to France. We were warmly welcomed and asked if we required a cot bed for out little one and any help with our luggage to the room. The room was very clean and enough tea nad coffee to refuel for our busy day, beds comfy and shower perfect. We ate in and were surprised with the variety of food and drinks on offer. The pool was open late and the mini golf was also enjoyed by our daughter and other guests. We will stay with you again and again - thank you from us all.

Stayed here with tour group as the hotel is large enough to handle multiple groups. Good size rooms, clean with good air conditioning and modern baths. Small outdoor pool and nice restaurant and bar in an atrium. Restaurant food was pretty good as well as service.

The toilet was in it's own tiny room. The sink and shower were in a separate tiny room. The doors to these adjacent rooms made it very hard to walk through the tiny hallway. I felt like it was a test of my ability to see if I could manage all the doors. It is a poor design for a room. That said, the room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. The hotel is in the middle of a park and there isn't a lot to see adjacent to the hotel.

Great room, great staff, great breakfast, nice view from a hill of Amboise, pool and tennis. Minor issues because of busy Easter week end: crowded (tiny) car park, queue at breakfast. Not major at all.

Our room is neatly tidied up before our return each day. Bravo to the cleaning team! We were always greeted in the corridor by hotel staff even if we spoke different languages. They made us feel welcome here. The hotel surrounding was green and refreshing.

the hotel is well located for visiting most of the highlighted chateaux du Loire. We stayed 5 days and in one hour driving distance we had plenty to see. We found its location and facilities very convenient and the hotel fulfilled our needs. On one hand we appreciated the big parking space, amenities like minigolf and swimming pool, the nice view of the Amboise's castle and surroundings, and the kindness and efficiency of staff. On the other hand our room (executive for three) was tiny, the breakfast rather chaotic with a very limited buffet, and basic ambience.
