This hotel is in a rural location, some distance from Amboise, so guests need a car. Our GPS was not helpful finding the hotel! The setting is tranquil and attractive with a well landscaped garden around the buildings and pool. We used the hotel as a base to visit a number of chateaux, so it was ideal for us. We had a lovely room decorated in French provincial style. Breakfast was excellent. With the remote location, we had dinner in-house for 3 nights. While expensive, the meals were first class. The only irritation was the wifi which did not connect to some or our devices for a number of hours.
We arrived at this hotel and there was a small problem, however, it was dealt with so efficiently and in such a nice way that it was soon forgotten (I only mention it now to show how well it was sorted out). Thank you very much for the complimentary drinks – they were much appreciated. Our stay at this fabulous hotel turned out to be the best 2 days of a two week trip to France, both because of the lovely hotel and the weather. Firstly our ground floor rooms - they were both perfect, extremely comfortable, with a proper King Size Bed ( important when you have a very tall husband), a lovely bathroom with top-quality toiletries and a charming terrace outside with table and chairs overlooking the jacuzzi and swimming pool. This was a great place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink playing cards with the children in the evening sun. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night which was excellent, a real "Michelin" restaurant experience with little amuse bouches & palette cleansers etc. It was also a nice touch that they had a "teenagers" meal with grilled chicken etc as our 15 yr old son just wouldn’t have done justice to the gourmet menu (unlike our teenage daughter who loved it as much as us). The swimming pool is perfect - nicely laid out with a good supply of comfortable sun loungers and pool towels. We didn’t do alot of sight-seeing as we were on a break before heading to another part of France but i would like to return to the hotel as there are some amazing chateaus nearby which are well worth a visit. I would thoroughly recommend this perfect little hotel – it is easy to see why so many people have enjoyed their stay as the staff go out of their way to make sure you do !
Great place, beautiful decorated rooms and public spaces. Nice swiimming pool as well and attentive staff. However I would only recommend a stay of max 2 nights . The setting is nice but far removed from the livelihood of (smaller) cities and that limits your choice of restaurants. However the logis' own restaurant (The colonial) is mchelin star quality
Beautiful terrace for an evening dinner, plenty of space, very informed and attentive staff. Quite 'fancy' food, not many simple dishes for a slightly fussy teenager but a wonderful surprise was one completely vegetarian menu! Could France finally be waking up to the fact! Very delicious food on the veggy menu, and the meaty menu did look good and was by all accounts very tender and tasty. Great desserts! We were only there for dinner so cannot comment on the hotel itself, the pictures look good! But for some fine dining yet in a very comfortable and informal atmosphere would certainly recommend it.
We stayed two nights and had a wonderful time with the pool, the jacuzzi and the tennis court. Friendly staff and overall quite nice. Rooms also what you would expect. The only surprise was with the bill. When booking our stay we could not reach the hotel directly so decided to book one night via Booking.com. When the bill came after two days however they only charged us for the one night we had booked via Booking.com. We notified them of their ommission and also mentioned that we had received different rooms than booked (closer to each other for the kids ... but close to reception and thus bit cheaper as a result). In spite of us having notified them of their own ommission to charge only one night, they insisted that we pay the more expensive rooms we had not used stating "Booking.com commission"). It just felt odd and not very friendly after such nice stay. They could have easily fixed this. Hopefully they make better choices next time
Le Fleuray has been on my places to visit for some time and it didn't disappoint. Situated in rural countryside the hotel sits very much in isolation. The hotel is in two parts - the main building and a conversion of a barn (in which we stayed). On being shown our rooms there was a small twinge of disappointment that everything looks so new - but that's because it is (relatively), the owners having conducted an heroic restoration of the place a few decades back. Our rooms were comfortable, very clean, and well equipped and the hotel itself it well resourced with a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, two lounges, a games area for kids and a good restaurant (reviewed separately). Previous reviewers have mentioned the lack of tea trays - they are still available on request. Wifi was also raised as a concern however clearly this has been addressed as the wifi is extremely plentiful and with and excellent signal throughout the hotel - there is even a PC for internet access if required. In keeping with hotels of this type there is no air con but even in the 34C heat the rooms were OK and there are shutters on the windows and portable fans in each room. Overall this is an excellent hotel of its type with friendly help full staff and with just about everything you would wish for. Definitely on my return to list and recommended!
We stayed 3 nights, best ever breakfast, homemade jams, lots of fresh eggs, meats and cheeses. Pool, farm kitties, views of the balloons while dining. Highly recommend. We stayed out in the barn where doors open to a patio. Really a great place in the Loire Valley.
We have stayed here several times and had an excellent stop-off en route to the Dordogne, with our dog. The garden rooms are ideal, but are now looking a little in need of TLC. The bathroom is clean and spacious but sadly lacking tissues! It is very peaceful and an ideal place to re-charge the batteries after a long drive from Calais. Our evening meal was fantastic, served out on the terrace. Brilliant service and delicious food. Breakfast has a self service orange press, which is great, BUT, for those of us who like cheese, there were just a few slices of very thin Gouda type cheese - most disappointing! For those who travel with a dog, it is ideal. Places to walk them off the lead, if well-behaved, within the grounds and beyond. The staff are lovely! We are staying again on our return, so hopefully, there will be more of a cheese selection at breakfast!
We stayed here for 4 nights as a base for visiting Le Mans. The hotel is in the middle of picturesque countryside and comprises a lovely large house with a newer annex. We stayed in one of the garden rooms in the annex, a stones throw from the pool. The room was very good size, with a large double bed, and ensuite. There were no tea/coffee making facilities but the staff were happy to bring drinks to your room. The pool was a lovely temperature and I believe it was heated. The food at the hotel was very good and certainly above average. The waiters were always friendly and managed well with my less than great French. A great little hotel, tucked away and quiet.
We stayed here for 5 days with a group of 25 couples for a Le Mans trip. Beautiful hotel in the heart of the French countryside. The food was stunning everyday with 3 courses and coffee. The breakfast full and plentiful. Fabulous rustic field views and very nice staff. We had an amazingly large room in the garden part of the hotel, these come with their own patio and beautiful field and woodland view. Spotlessly clean on arrival and beautifully looked after whilst we were there. I couldn't fault it and would highly recommend this hotel. Their web page doesn't give it justice! I thought it was so much better. Loved it!
