Being in Tours I have spent one night here. The room was excellent, very quite. Pool and spa wonderful Breakfast was one of the best I had in France, but it has its price with Eur 19. The dinner was of good quality, The only thing where I have a complaint is the winelist, much too expensive, there is not one bottle of good Bordeaux/ Bourgogne under Eur 70, which is for me unacceptable, they should change something in their purchasingpolicy ! All in all nice quite location and very clean.
this is the ideal stay before going to the west coast of France; we spent there 1 night , not directly in the chateau but in the new building , well equipped , everything ok, we went to the massage as well, (if possible book in advance), people are very helpful , kind with customers, diner and breakfast excellent , really an addree to recommend !
I stayed at Chateau Belmont for two nights as part of a tour organized by Viking Cruises, and I was delighted. My room was in a modern building adjacent to the historic chateau. The room was huge and had every amenity I could ask for and some I didn't even need, like a fridge and hot plate. I didn't have a great view, but I didn't mind that because all I had to do was walk out the front of the building and explore the lovely grounds. The hotel restaurant served a passable preselected dinner to our group the first night of our stay. Those who chose to dine a la carte the next day told me that the food was truly excellent. Breakfast certainly was great. The hotel is located in a residential area away from the center of Tours, but the main tram line is only about 3 blocks away, and actually to walk into the city would only take about 20 minutes. Right around the corner is an amazing gastronomic restaurant, Charles Barrier, that I reviewed on this site. Overall, I think Chateau Belmont is a great choice in Tours, and I would happily stay there again.
This 4-star hotel is pleasant, staff is welcoming and helpful, the place is relaxing, the room was clean and comfy, the garden is nice. However, I did not find what I seek from an independent 4-star hotel : to be surprised by these small things that make it feel unique. The architecture of the new buildings that were built around the original manor is too standard to go on well with the manor. The decoration inside made me feel like if I was in an hotel chain like a mercure or a radisson, a bit impersonal. The spa was small for the number of rooms, especially the sauna.
Stayed here for one night and wish we could have stayed longer. The room was luxurious, spacious, and modern. Bed super comfortable. Nice touch was the stand speaker that we could hook up our music too and plug in USB cable. We also ate dinner at the restaurant. Last minute reservation the staff squeezed us in. The service was really wonderful, can't say enough great things about how helpful and attentive the staff was. The grounds were lovely.
Stayed in room 01. Junior Suite. Good choice, as it had nice views over gardens. Friendly, professional welcome on arrival for a two night stay. Room was in very good condition and well equipped. Huge bathroom with decent shower and great range of toiletries. Comfortable bed and large TV, along with Bluetooth soundbar for smartphone. Nespresso-type coffee maker (but with only two capsules - mean!). Good wifi. Good choice of drinks at bar, but no staff in evidence. I had to ask reception whenever a drink was required. Barman was busy elsewhere laying tables for dinner. Could do better! Food in restaurant was exquisite. Perfect fillet steak. Interesting velouté. Surprisingly, no rosé wine. We were told the only choice on the wine list had all been drunk. Must do better! Breakfast, though not cheap, was sumptuous. Excellent choice of varied foods to suit all nationalities. Best breakfast yet in any French hotel. Walk to old town is 20 minutes. Very interesting. Many bars and decent restaurants in Place Plumereau. Chez Gerard was fun - tables so close together, you have to talk to other diners! Then catch the tram back up the hill. €1.60 each. Every 5 minutes (15 on Sundays). Highly recommended hotel. Just don't be mean with the bottled water & Nespresso.
We have stayed here often as our stop off enroute to Spain. Actually, this hotel is deserving of much more than just an overnighter. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. This time Carole greeted us warmly & professionally and showed us to a first floor room in the modern section which was bright and clean (as usual) with comfy beds and good facilities. We don't always dine in the restaurant here as there are good choices nearby (Charles Barrier). However, we are very glad we did this time. The dining room is bright and spacious, the tables set with crisp, white linen. You can dine inside or on the terrace. The menu was interesting and reasonably priced and we had a fabulous four courses including an excellent cheese trolley and a good wine. In our opinion this restaurants just gets better every time we dine here. We should also mention the service which was charming with very good English spoken which is a relief for us as our French is shamefully bad (in other French establishments we have sometimes felt 'punished' for this!). We can recommend the Chateau Belmont and may well stay longer next trip.
Stayed here for 4 nights and had no regrets. Staff friendly and extreme efficient when I needed. I got a room with terrace view to the garden, just beautiful. I was able to had breakfast there. Room was excellent too with kitchen available.
Really, we should stay more than 2 nights instead of one. I love the hotel style, greens and lovely garden, very quiet and relaxing. Room are good and with coffee maker. Foods are not impressive however, the only thing I did not really enjoyed in there. Wifi is free but very slow! Location is slightly remote but as expected you gain a quite place and lovely garden
Spent two nights and very much enjoyed our stay. Had been there previously under a different owner but now much improved. We arrived by car a bit early with lots of luggage. Our room was ready and help was there for our bags. The room was comfortable with air conditioning. Bed was large and good quality bedding, towels, robes and even slippers. The shower had a rain head and pressure was excellent. There is a lovely garden to relax and stroll. I read comments about not such a good location but we walked a short distance and took a wonderful tram service only three stops to the Old Town. The tram ran every seven minutes. I also enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hotel setting. The buffet breakfast was excellent with all the wonderful croissants, breads, etc. Also, hot foods, fruits, yogurt. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the lovely garden terrace or inside. The front desk help was gracious and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again and recommend.
