I was a little upset that there was no transparency where the pet fee was concerned. I should not have to email the hotel for that information. The size of the exercise room was not well depicted in the pictures. It is a lot smaller than it looks. The breakfast was nice, and the rooms were clean, although our tub needed to be refinished because of cracks. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The property was okay for the price. The room was clean, the cleaning staff was friendly, and breakfast was about what we expected. The sink drain could work better, and some towels are close to the end of their useful life. However, it was extremely frustrating to have no hot water for our entire two-night stay. What made it worse was learning that the hotel had already been experiencing the problem for about a week, yet no one mentioned it when we checked in. Hot water is a basic hotel amenity, and had we been informed upfront, we could have decided whether we wanted to stay. We then had to spend additional time going back and forth between Best Western and Orbitz just to get some compensation for the inconvenience. Best Western ultimately offered a 30% gift card toward a future stay at one of their properties, which didn't feel like much of a resolution, especially after this experience left us questioning whether we would choose to stay at a Best Western again. Orbitz customer service was much more helpful and did provide some compensation, which we appreciated. Overall, the hotel itself was acceptable for the price, but having no hot water for two days, not being informed about a known problem at check-in, and then having to spend our own time trying to get the issue addressed made the experience unnecessarily frustrating.
