Novotel Thalassa Dinard - Spa Experience4.0 out of 5.0

Wow! We decided spontaneously to stay here after checking out early from the terrible (!!!) hotel Le Mouton Blanc on Mont St. Michel. We found the Novotel Dinard via the Accor Hotels membership app. When entering the hotel grounds the immediate impression was one of 5-star space, relaxation and calm. Miles away from the crowds and hectic of Mont St Michel. Upon arrival at reception we were very pleasantly and professionally greeted by Philippe. He went out of his way to make us feel very welcome and help cater to our needs - three-bed room (13-year old son). The room (614) is superb - wonderful balcony with quiet surroundings, beautiful word panelling inside room, unbelievably comfortable beds, everything spotlessly clean. The pool and spa area are great - bearing in mind however that one is in a professional spa and highjinks between Dad and 13-year old son are understandably not welcomed by all guests.... I give this hotel the highest classification without any qualms. Very much looking forward to dinner and a very restful night before catching the ferry to Guernsey on the next step of our driving adventure holiday summer 2017.
Check in was quick and without any problems, however your eyes are drawn to the magnificent views that await you! The room was large and was well equipped for three adults, which is unusual as most hotels only have a small bed and leave two towels for some reason. We had a small balcony which would have been ok, but there was building works going on outside so sitting out was not a good experience. It's very hot in the rooms and there is no air con, but they do have an electric fan. On the first night we left the balcony door open, big mistake as the building site starts early by 4am we were awake. The next night we opened the small window and had the fan on and there was no problem. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, because of the wonderful views from there! It's expensive, but the food is outstanding and the service was great. We didn't have breakfast as we wanted to experience what the local area had to offer and we were not disappointed at all. The pool area is well set out, however you do need swimming caps but you are given them along with a towel. The spa pool as we found out can be hazardous, as there are bars that you cannot see under the water. From the pool you can go outside to the terrace and just drink in them sublime views. It's not too far into the local town where you have restaurants, bars, bakeries, shops and a supermarket. There is a bus stop outside the hotel, but we never saw a bus anywhere around the place. Would we go there again, without a doubt YES
Enjoyed our stay at start of holiday, very friendly staff, great facilities in a beautiful position above a beach with views out to sea and across the estuary to St Malo. Good good in restaurant and very relaxing after long drive. Loved it!
The hotel is a spa resort in the small coastal town of Dinard in Brittany on the West Coast of France. It's a lovely hotel if you want to chill out and relax especially during the spring/summer months. The hotel is equipped with a spa, sauna, pool and jacuzzi. You can also play other sports like table tennis, lawn tennis, etc. The room service was prompt and courteous. The staff was nice and helpful at suggesting places to visit and explore nearby. The hotel has direct access to the beach. The best part was the awesome view of the setting sun and the waves crashing on the shore... Priceless!!
Shame the carpark is so busy, can be difficult to park, swimming pool is good and the jacuzzis are good. Have swimming towels in the pool. Too.was good, had small balcony with 2 chairs but we didn't use it because it was raining
In general the cost is as far as I'm concerned somewhat too high. Please note the following: a. the sound insulation in the rooms is good except in the ceiling. We were woken up in the morning because the cleaning lady was vacuuming the room above. it makes a lot of noise. b. of the 6 nights we stayed we received only twice some plastic beakers. A check after the cleaning lady should have captured this. c. twice the table was still sticky after the cleaning, i.e. the table was not cleaned with water. d. Thalasso: for me the salt content was too high. I've been already to several Accor Thalasso's but this one was too high and gave me itching skin.
Hotel: excellent positioned, very nice garden/parking place, full of trees and green, ocean very close, absolutely beautiful landscape. Room: excellent garden/ocean view, very clean (everyday cleaning), big enough for 2 adults + 1 little child (one bed king size + another one smaller for child), warm and good noise isolation. Cleaning staff very nice and friendly. Restaurant: very nice positioning, big enough, clean and nice decorated, fabulous food (dinner time - we had half board) - congratulations to the chef, maybe the breakfast can be changed from time to time - same eggs, bacon, sausages etc. everyday, but was quite OK for 6 days. Restaurant staff very friendly, always smiling and helpful. Spa Center: excellent programs, good equipment, very clean everywhere - pool, sauna, jacuzzi, hamam. Personnel very friendly and nice. Congratulations for all the team, for us was a very pleasant first experience in Bretagne.
One of our favourite hotels, large rooms, superb restaurant, excellent breakfast, stunning panoramic views of the Brianny coast. Near to lovely sandy beaches and excellent coastal walks. This really is a place you can relax and unwind in. Really helpful staff too.
The Novotel is in a superb position on the clifftop just outside Dinard. The views are fabulous. Our room looked over the gardens and the sea. We had a "wheelchair friendly " room. Most things worked well but the kettle and cups were on a shelf just out of reach of someone sitting in a wheelchair! The service varied. Some staff were very helpful and friendly, others were not. The big downside of this hotel is the food. It's all show and no substance. The quality is mediocre. The ages of the guests range from very young to fairly old, so a more relaxed, less old-fashioned atmosphere with brasserie-style food would be the best option for this restaurant so there is something to eat for everyone. The quality needs to improve. The accountants are cutting corners I fear.
nice big hotel + side: good big room very abudant breakfast -side: hectic breakfast service hectic to find parking space front office was working efficient, the crew in the restaurant area were trying to help en do their best but no real plan and just playing pani football
