This is a really nice place to stay. I visit Rennes quite often, and have traditionally stayed at a very nice 4 star hotel chain. However, their prices kept increasing, so one weekend I gave Le Sevigne a try. Simply put, it has a great location, wonderful front desk staff; the rooms are quiet, well appointed and VERY clean. I book the "Grand Confort" rooms; very comfortable and excellent value for money. I have now stayed three times, and I strongly recommend this hotel.
Great, including location which is near the train station. Staff are good and polite. Air condition was not working and caused air flow not so good. Shower hear holder not holding the shower head properly.
Clean and comfortable room with good shower and friendly staff. Easy walking distance to town centre. Plenty of nearby restaurants with varied menus. Definitely good value for money. Parking is easily available on street but not with the hotel. Plenty of places near the hotel park my motorcycle. Highly recommend.
Clean room, friendly staffs, great location, various breakfast. Easy to find from the station and not expensive price. Really pleasant stay. We'd like to stay there again, when we visit Rennes again!!
Excellent hotel with a very reasonable price. The hotel is newly renovated, comfy bed, warm, friendly and helpful staff. The location is great, only 3 minutes walk away from the train and bus stations. Safe area, 10 minutes walk to the city center. I highly recommend this hotel!
Very convenient location next to the train station. Room was spacious and very clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Nice cot provided for our baby and room was very quiet and air conditioned. Recommend for a stay when trying to catch an early train.
This hotel is very close to the train station, in a central location, very convenient to visit the old city, also close to the Metro station. Room is clean, tidy and bed is very comfortable. Lift is a bit small but not an issue. Extremely friendly members of staff who also speak English. Breakfast selection is limited, but okay to start off the day.
We stayed here twice during our nine-day car trip through Brittany, once at the beginning and again at the end of our trip. We selected this hotel based on the reviews, and found it to be a perfect location about half-way between the train station and the historical center of Rennes. A nice size room, quiet, professional staff at the reception and a reasonable price. Our only complaint was the high price requested for breakfast - you'd be much better off going out to one of the many cafes nearby. The front desk staff were very helpful for us during our two stays making dinner reservations and offering suggestions of parks (fabulous!) for walking our small dog.
Nicely located among restaurants and some shopping, about 2 blocks from the SNCF Train Station. Room was neat and tidy, daily housekeeping services. But I will warn you that the bottom of the bathtub (tub/shower combination) is horribly slippery. No rubber mat, so spread a hand towel on bottom and stood on that. I did tell the housekeeper why i did that, and she understood. Good assortment of items at breakfast, and they had real coffee instead of the instant stuff. Parking a rental car is left to whatever spot you can fund or using a pay lot 2 blocks away. The only drawback in my opinion is the fact that there is no ice anywhere in the building, so i had to ask for ice at neighboring restaurants.
Used this venue as a base for an extended stay in the region to visit various towns in cities in the Brittany region. Principal reason for booking this property was its proximity to the bus and train stations. We were very happy with the property's location and particularly its proximity to both stations. The property is not to far from the old city centre - 10 to 15 minute walk. The area is also well served with Restaurants, Bars and a well stocked Supermarket is approximately 5 minutes away. We did not experience excessive noise even though our room was located on the main road. The appointments in the room were modern although lacking in either a Bar or drinks fridge. There is a kettle provided and a wardrobe. For a 3 star venue we thought that the room was very cramped. There was minimal space to move around the room whilst the bathroom could not be used by more than one person at a time. Separate toilet facility was in the room. Bed was comfortable although some people may find it a bit to soft. Pillows were great. There is no doubt that the room we had was designed to get the most out of the least. On a couple of occasions during our stay, the breakfast room was not able to cope satisfactorily enough with all the guests that arrived to have their breakfast and some had to wait until other guests had finished before there was sufficient room to cater for them. Breakfast was adequate and staff always made sure that food was replenished as it was used. We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Overall, we would rate the hotel as good but the lack of space drags the rating down.
