I stayed at this hotel on my trip to the Cacao Farms in Bahia. It was a very good option with a friendly staff. It has a nice structure where the rooms are spread in separate blocks . It's by the beach with resort infrastructure what makes a great option for family with kids. The breakfast is amazing.
The Jardim Atlantico is a well managed, well maintained resort. The facilities were above and beyond what i found to be typical in this part of Bahia. Although the room was somewhat basic, everything worked. It was clean and in good shape. The pool area was comfortable with fun activities for the adults and kids that wanted to participate. The breakfast was extensive. It's clear that management is on top of things because all the facilities were in excellent condition; i was surprised to learn that the hotel was much older than what i guessed from its appearance. The staff was friendly and well trained and there was always at least one english speaker at the front desk. The only downside was the ocean. The water was a brown color and not appealing, although the beach was pleasant. I would happily stay here again.
Wonderful paradise !!! Everything was perfect. Me and my guest were very happy to stay there. The accommodation, the food, the place, the location and the time couldn't been better for us to visit the Jardim do Atlântico Resort in December.
This is a great, safe place to spent your free days. Everything is well kept, they organize some action for the guests, restaurant is pricy and not very good. But - great pool, great beach, amazing security, extraordinary place just to relax. The only downside is non-english speaking staff. Rooms could be better, and be more "on the beach", but who needs a room if you have such great place outdoor?
I had a lovely two-day stay at Jardim Atlantico, especially thanks to Murillo, an OUTSTANDING front-desk receptionist who deserves special recognition (and to be running the place). In excellent English, he helped me with absolutely everything I needed and found an answer to every question I had. The rooms are a bit dated (though very comfortable beds and awesome hot water and pressure in the shower) and the gym needs some work, but food at the restaurant was terrific, staff was friendly, and no complaints about the enormous pool, the swim-up bar, or the hammocks overlooking the private beach. Considering what it would cost to stay at an equivalent property in the US, this was a really good find for the price. I was there as a woman traveling alone, and would not recommend it for singles unless you (as I did when I booked it) really need a break from talking to gringo backpackers...
The place is beautiful with a beach only for hotel guests. The breakfast is delicious, and also the rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant has a very varied and tasty menu. No doubt, I recommend.
My husband and I were married in Ilheus in December of 2014. He is from the area while my family is from Canada. Jardim Atlantico is a complete and utter disgrace of an establishment under the hospitality banner. The owner/operator is a woman driven only by her love of money and not by the quality of service provided to guests. Almost all of our guests from the U.S., Canada. UK., Australia and Nigeria stayed at Jardim. Imagine the amount of business we brought to them. Ourselves and our guests were constantly met by staff chasing guests down for payments on things that normally are covered at the end of a guests visit. Rooms were obscenely over priced and if you were a family of more than 2 people which hello-most are-guest were charged by the DAY for the extra family members even though the guests room already had additional beds inside to accommodate families. Instead of creating an environment of relaxation for guests, Jardim Atlantico management was successful only in creating an uncomfortable environment in which guests felt policed. Only by a moral obligation must I state that Erica Mori in guest services and Robson in food services and a few other staff were kind, professional, and attentive to guests needs despite the limiting management in place. As someone who has lived in Brazil and speaks the language I can assure you as a reader that I am by no means over exaggerating the deplorable treatment of guests at this hotel. Do not be fooled. You have been sufficiently warned.
Very good place. Direct access to the beach, with food services, swimming pool and a beautiful place to rest under a big roof. very good restaurant, sports activities with an entertainer and a wonderful breakfast. Rooms cleaned every day, bathroom with a very hot bath and strong water shower. Very good choice.
Should you feel like a foreigner when you get to ILHEUS (pronounce IL Laos, or ILHOIS), you will feel at HOME at Jardim Altantico with Rodrigo and Anderson, two front desk staff who took care of us for one week here! Got direction to and from Itabuna, which is a town an hour away by ondibus that you can take from the FRONT of this HOTEL!!! Just ask one of them for the schedule and how to take the bus back. Everyone here is friendly and nonjudgemental.
My family and I stayed at Jardim Atlantico for my sister's wedding which was in Ilheus. We all had a bad experience here. The room was way too expensive for what we were getting. The reception staff could not speak english and weren't very helpful. We were a family of 5 and yet, we couldn't sleep in the same room without being charged extra--keep in mind that the room had enough beds to sleep all of us comfortably. This would not happen in North America. If you pay for a suite (i.e a room with several beds), you do not get charged for each additional person--yet they tried to charge us when we went over the 'standard' two people. In short, everything at Jardim seemed to be about money and not about customer service. Don't go here, there are other beautiful resorts.
