We had a lovely week at Santa Eulalia and the Grupotel had lots of positives, the food was excellent, the drink (sangria in particular) was good value for money. The entertainment was ok and the staff were polite and helpful. My partner and I are in our mid forties and we were younger than the average holiday makers at this hotel. We went up to the roof terrace to sunbathe and could always get a sun lounger. We didn’t have a very good view from our balcony but this didn’t bother us. We walked into the town every day and had a relaxing week. Would recommend for a relaxing break.
Not ideal if you want to be somewhere lively but for peace its very good! Nice pool and helpful staff. Rooms clean and nicely decorated although I had to wait a few hours for the room due to a delay but ended up getting a lush sea view room!. Warning though not on the beach
The hotel is on the edge of Santa Eulalia, so it is quiet. Santa Eulalia is a beautiful town with plenty of shops etc. I enjoyed sitting on the seafront watching the water taxis come and go and local children have sailing lessons. There is a bus stop near the hotel or you can walk to the centre in about half an hour. There is a lovely beach (Niu Blau) in the opposite direction. It has a couple of cafés and water sports are available. The hotel itself is very well kept and spotlessly clean. The rooms are a good size and so are the balconies. There is a rack on the balcony for drying clothes, which came in handy. The staff are helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is good. I am vegetarian and had no trouble finding enough things to eat. The pool area is very nice. There sometimes weren't any sunbeds left by the pool but this wasn't a problem since more were available in a private wooded area just outside the back gate - I actually preferred it there. Evening entertainment was varied and high quality An excellent place to stay
Nice hotel but could do with some updating. We went half board which was fine as there are plenty of lovely restaurants in st Eulalia. Drinks were a reasonable price but feel they should provide more bottled water in rooms. The food was good and very varied at breakfast and dinner. We had lunch some days at the hotel and the menu was quite varied and would suit every palate. Loved that it was very quiet around the pool and didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed . Although the pool was extremely cold! Could do with heating up. When we arrived we were not pleased with rooms but the hotel reception were brilliant and changed them for us giving us a pool view instead of walkway view. Hotel is very clean and well kept. The only gripe was that we had a very late flight home and were not able to keep the room on later. All in all would definitely go again.
Food- Very good, plentiful, varied (at dinner times). Cleanliness- Generally very good, though some areas of our room were clearly missed before check in. Location- The end of a long line of hotels in the area, a bit soulless but nice views. Convenient for supermarkets, overlooks the sea but about 15-20min walk from the main town Santa Eulalia/and nearest beaches. Staff- Overall hard working and approachable, just the little lady who ran the magazine shop also seemed to be responsible for going into rooms and letting all the doors slam first thing in the morning?! Room- We requested a quiet room, and while I do think we were placed in a quieter area of the hotel (no sea/pool views/away from the kitchen) all the doors in the hotel slam shut if you don't close them carefully, and there are no fire doors in the corridor to stop the spread of this noise. Something the hotel should look into. Pool- We really were looking for a quiet hotel, but as other reviewers say 'you could hear a pin drop' around the pool, this made it feel a bit uneasy and we actively avoided the pool because of this. It was end of the season, but all the sun beds in the sun were taken every day-you can't move the ones out of the shade either as there is no room for that many on one side of the pool. Spa- We chose the hotel based on the fact that there was a spa and treatments available. We were expecting some poor weather being end of season, so had hoped that the spa would occupy us on those days. The spa is actually very small, and while they have ticked boxes for facilities-jacuzzi, steam room etc, it's much smaller, and more basic than our gym at home. No one was around to do treatments, and when we checked we were told that that spa service was closed for the season. After some negotiation with reception they said they could call someone to come the next day (when the weather was due to be better) so we ended up going to a different hotel and paying to use their spa and have treatments there (it was 100% improvement on ours). Our hotel were not fussed about where we went for a treatment, as the service is separate and they don't make money from it, it just gets people to book with them as we did, so we felt particularly let down by this. If you are looking to book a hotel with a spa- I would most definitely book elsewhere.
This is the 5th time that we have been in this hotel. Wonderful staff and a very tranquil place to be, with great rooms and excellent food, with something for everyone. It is no surprise that the hotel has once again won several prestigious awards for excellence and great customer service. The hotel is based in a residential are of Santa Eularia and is only a short walk from the lovely town and marina. A great place for adults only and has just the right atmosphere to make a great holiday
Myself and my mum stayed here for a week from 21st October to the 28th. It was a lovely week overall with many positives and just a few pointers. Positives: *The staff here are very friendly. Some of them made the effort to remember your drinks order at the bar and they were all very polite and helpful. *It is clean and well kept. Some would say it is old fashioned and in need of an update. I would disagree-it was very Spanish and traditional but everything looked maintained. *It was quiet and peaceful -I will come to this point in my negatives too! Plenty of sun beds around the pool but not sure what it would be like in the summer. *Location wasn't bad-15 minutes walk to the harbor and promenade and you could use the costal path which was much nicer than the streets. *Food was ok-wouldn't say it was bad but nothing exciting either. You wouldn't go hungry here though as I am quite a fussy eater and always left the dining room feeling full. *Cost of the drinks wasn't too bad. I expect them to hike the prices but they were quite competitive. *Weather (I know isn't down to the hotel) was fabulous. One day of a bit of cloud and rain then the rest was glorious-25 degrees and no cloud for a few days which was an unexpected surprise. *The views were nice from the rooms. We upgraded to a sea view which was lovely. *Drinks measures were great! As the week went on, they seemed to get bigger-maybe trying to get rid of the alcohol?! Negatives: *The pool was freezing! I know you want something to cool you down but just dipping your feet hurt and was like little knives, but I am a wimp! *This was the last week of the season and didn't you know it! Not the hotels fault but the rep was barely around, no welcome meeting, entertainment lacking at night and none through the day, day trips weren't on etc. This made the hotel feel lacking in atmosphere. It was great not having to fight over sun beds but by the end of the week there were only about 30 people left and things were literally closing around you. *Location, although not bad, could have been better and may be a reason I wouldn't rush back. I prefer to be closer to the local bars and even though there was apparently a great bar next door, Babylon beach, it had shut for the season before we got there. *Wifi was pretty lame and seeing as you had to pay for it, I would expect better. All in all a lovely week and only little nit picking negatives. I wouldn't rush back because, even though I love Santa Eulalia, there are other places I want to see and I would return to another hotel in this area as I preferred it. But if you want a quiet, peaceful, pleasant week in the sun with wonderful staff then don't hesitate.
Excellent stay again at the hotel, great base for lots of walking etc, weather was spot on this year! Good variety of food available - staff in the restaurant work extremely hard. Rooms very clean & the staff are friendly & helpful. Can't comment on the entertainment as we tend to go out of the hotel in the evening. Babylon Beach bar next door great place to go for lunch & drinks Will be back again next year for sure
We are just back from a week here with friends. Excellent reception staff, very clean hotel, friendly restaurant waiters and rooms cleaned very efficiently. The rooms are spacious, well appointed ..fridge,safe extra( we shared with our friends). We enjoyed the pool area and roof top sofas. The spa has a jacuzzi, pool and sauna at no extra cost. The food is very good. Breakfast to suit all tastes including gluten free, lactose intolerance, sugar free jams and biscuits.Omelettes and cheese toasties done while you wait. Massive salad bar in the evening ,two soups, fresh fish, meats etc cooked at the grill. Plenty of extras on hot plates. Always lots of fresh fruit, several choices of ice creams and desserts Overall we thought it was excellent value, quiet area...about a 20 minute flat walk to centre of resort...along the marina to the main beach Unusual these days to have to pay for wifi
This was a brilliant hotel which was perfect for a short break. A rare opportunity without children meant e booked this adult only hotel. It was clean and the staff friendly and helpful with all our enquiries. The spa was lovely and relaxing and outdoor pool was lovely, although a little chilly in October. The room was clean and well managed. The food was superb as we had opted for half board. A great variety that was rotated each day so it was never the same. We did feel a little young but it was a perfect spot to make base.
