We visited the White Island from 18th - 25th September and this was our first holiday travelling with a baby. We decided to try Ibiza given the flight time and picked The White Island because of close proximity to the airport. On arrival at 12 noon our room wasn’t ready. They said it wouldn’t be ready until 3pm....I pointed out I had a baby who needed fed and changed as we had been travelling from 4am but the receptionist stared at me and basically said tough! We tried again at 2.30 and our room was ready. It was nicely decorated but bulky furniture plus a travel cot meant no room what so ever. It would have been food if the had removed the huge chair that was surplus to requirement. Other issue we had was washing bottles as the only sink in the room was in the bathroom! All inclusive should be all inclusive but this was not the case. Cheap cava was the only bubbly you could have and a daiquiri was €12 however a mojito was part of the package???? Didn’t make sense. The buffet was actually ok but a couple of nights were poor. Fish night would have been ok if you liked fish but I’d like me you don’t then your stuck! You had to book in advance to eat in the restaurants over the other side. We eventually got booked for the Mexican and the Italian. On arrival at the Mexican the waiter proclaimed he would seat us outside for ease with the pram.....they sat us next to the Work station where all the waiters replenished the cutlery so between that and the flight path with planes taking off every 3 minutes it wasn’t long before our son was woken up. It was like fakery towers, cutlery being dropped and forgotten orders....did not enjoy it at all. The next night we tried the Italian which was much better. I can’t understand how we couldn’t get booked yet these restaurants were half empty??? Despite numerous signs saying no towels on beds and leaving them, this happened every day. In the snack bar people smoked while eating which is not good when you have a baby who has never been round smoke. Found that the staff were disinterested and and there was no jet2 rep for a welcome meeting so we’re pretty much left to our own devices. Our holiday was ok but could have been better if the following had been addressed:- 1 - travelling with a baby there should be an option for an early check in 2 - better way to book restaurants and ensure they are fully utilised 3 - ban smoking in the snack area 4 - All inclusive list update to include better drinks We paid £2600 for this holiday so wasn’t cheap so expected a bit better!
We have visited the grand palladium and this hotel 5 times, it improves every time. Since our last visit they have added a 24hr sports bar, upgraded the beach restaurant Portfino to an amazing A la Carte in the evenings, added a shake it pool bar and and had live music by the pool every afternoon. This resort is beautifully clean and well appointed, staff helpful and efficient, bar well stocked with brand included as well as cocktails and the food is fantastic, the a la Carte options are a must especially at the Portfino restaurant where the menu, food and service are simply exquisite. The buffet options are endless and beautifully displayed. One slight discomfort for us was our room 6119 has an adjoining door which was NOT at all soundproof so we were often subjected to noises which we would prefer not to hear from the couple “enjoying” themselves next door, not at all enjoyable for us. Also the rooms in block 6000 with a sea view also have the noise of the beach bars directly in front of them which we didn’t mind as we were enjoying the hotels facilities late into the night but a family or guests wanting to relax should avoid these rooms as music can be heard thudding through the rooms till 1am. We will be returning again soon, although not to this room we hope. I would highly recommend and thank all the staff for accommodating us.
We went 7 days All Inclusive and found the selection of food and drinks superb. The amount of choices for breakfast/lunch/dinner was more than plentiful. The desserts also had many choices of fresh fruit to sweet titbits and several gateaux every day. The drinks were plentiful and brand names used even in cocktails. The bar staff were very efficient and friendly even although they were serving a very busy bar. There was also a mini bar which was restocked every day with soft drinks and water. The A/I did not have any hidden extras - even having 2 choices of local chocolate ice creams and bar crisps/nuts. The hotel cleaners were excellent especially the lady who cleaned our Room 8205. They kept the corridors and rooms spotless. The Reception staff were very helpful when we wanted to visit other towns using local buses - the bus stop is just outside the hotel. They also helped us with our pick up transfer to airport as Hoppa had closed their airport office for the season and not organised our transfer. There are 3 Al la Carte restaurants which you have to prebook 24hrs in advance at no extra charge. The Mediterranean and Italian restaurants cooked high end meals and recommended. Only 2 niggles for us - 1. There was no entertainment or music in White Island but you could walk 5mins to the sister Palace Hotel which had a stage with different nightly acts. 2. Just highlighting that the planes fly very low directly over the hotel - it did not bother us sleeping but others may complain. Overall we had a very happy holiday and would recommend staying at this hotel. Compliments to all the hard working staff who were always friendly and helpful. The hotel is near Hard Rock Hotel and all the famous DJ clubs. We were glad they had closed for the season but if that is your scene then book earlier.
This is the 4th time I have returned to this hotel !!! Loved every second !!! The staff were amazing !!!!! They couldn't do enough for us sadly are flight got cancelled on the Tuesday luckily they had space to re book into the hotel.. Reception kindly looked at flights for us they really was a massive help The food is great never had no problems with it !! Our favourite restaurant was the Portofino we ate there twice on are long weekend !! The rooms are super clean and tidy great pool view ... small rooms but great for the weekend !!! Quick easy transfer from the airport 10€ taxi !!!! Couldn't fault this hotel over the years I have stayed in This Hotel the standard is very high Defo would return !!!!!!
Just got back from 4 day break. This is a nice hotel but it is not 5 star. The hotel is spotlessly clean, reception and bar areas were good with good service, pools all good(although you struggled to get chairs after 10.00) and rooms very nice. My disappointment was all around the food areas. The main buffet restaurant food was very bland, not very hot and a serious lack of variety with regards to vegetables (no carrots or peas at all) only broccoli and cauliflower. Staff attentiveness was zero most of the time with most people having to continually ask for drinks rather than the staff asking. Beach bar was poorly run - often ran out of basic things, tables not cleared, no real service at all. Beach was nice but dont understand how such a lovely hotel has its beach chairs stuck right at the end of the beach instead of behind the hotel. All chairs were normally gone by 11.00am.
My wife and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the hotel. This is our second all inclusive holiday of the year, and they were polls apart. On arrival at our stay on Gran Canaria we were met by surly staff, given a room that was scruffy to say the least, and provided with food that could be best described as lukewarm slop. Here we were met by friendly helpful staff who did everything they could to make our stay a good one. The room was a good size and spotless, as was the rest of the complex. There was an excellent range of food in the buffet restaurant for all meals, and there was certainly nothing lukewarm here. In addition there are three a la carte restaurants to try for your evening meals if you fancy being waited on. The pool area is of a good size and again is spotlessly clean, and the evening entertainment is varied and of a good standard. If you are looking for somewhere blaring out Abba songs all day, then go somewhere else. There again, if you are looking for somewhere that meets the criteria of what a 5 star establishment should be, give it a go, you won't be disappointed. Will we be returning ? too damn right we will.
We've just returned from our 8 night stay at the Grand Palladium White Island Resort and we've had a brilliant time ! The room was lovely and modern but probably slightly smaller than expected. A la crate restaurants were great with the Portofino and the Il Palazzo being our favourites. The buffet restaurants had a great selection of food especially for breakfast. My only complaint would be they could have more main options for vegetarians for lunch - maybe vegetarian burger or make a vegetarian option of paella, as we found pasta and pizza can get a bit much after a few days. Salad options were great though. Staff at the hotel were all very friendly and welcoming. We used the kids club for our 20 month old which was great. The staff there are amazing ! Evening entertainment was brilliant and our little one absolutely loved the mini disco for the kids in the evening. There were 3 pools and one for kids. I would definitely say the hotel should seriously consider heating the pools as they were freezing even when it's a hot day. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel - close to the airport, nice beach attached to the hotel and not too far from the Ibiza old town.
Excellent Hotel, brilliant service nothing was too much trouble. Only disappointment was the food, plenty of choice but after waiting for over one hour for the main course in the Italian A la Carte only for it to be raw was not good.
We only stayed for 4 nights, but were generally pleased we chose the White Island. After a very early flight, we arrived in the early afternoon and out room wasn't ready, so we had lunch in the hotel's buffet, which wasn't a problem. The standard room was a good size, clean and tidy, with a good bathroom. It had a good sized balcony too. The only downside of the room was the external glass door wasn't brilliant at insulating against the noise of planes from the airport and from the evening entertainment, which went on to about 2am - not usually a problem for us (and not unexpected in Ibiza!) but as we hadn't slept for about 24 hours, it was annoying. Something to bear in mind if you like an early night. The three pools across the hotel and the neighbouring Grand Palladium were huge and offered a good choice - even at the end of August, we could always find sunloungers, although not right next to the pool. The White Island pool was fairly noisy - the quality and volume of music varied hugely, and sometimes there was live music too. The 'foam party' put on in the pool during the day was fantastic fun for adults and children alike. The other two pools were quieter. The public areas were very clean and relaxing to be in. The immediate location wasn't particularly picturesque and it was a bit rough walking down the strip in Playa d'en Bossa. However, the hotel is in walking distance of the Hard Rock Hotel, and I highly recommend the roof top bar there, at sunset - amazing views! Another advantage was the bus stop outside the hotel; it was a short and cheap trip into Ibiza Town - well worth a trip and easy to get a taxi back for about 13 Euros. Food was generally good and plentiful, although did get a bit samey. Coffee at breakfast wasn't great though. For a short break in Ibiza, I would recommend.
Stayed with my GF here for 3 nights, from the min we walked in we were very well looked after, the staff throughout the hotel are very helpful, reception, bar, spa, restaurant, maids etc. Hotel is clean throughout, food in the restaurants is ok but the buffet is good, massive selection all day, the sports bar after midnight is a bit all over the place, I know people just want to eat after a few drinks late at night but the gentleman taking the orders needs some customer service training, yes he's busy with orders but there is a way to speak to customers. Room was good, cleaned everyday with fresh towels, only downside is if booking a double bed they are 2 singles beds put together, they do not work as a double, I tried !! Just would like a special mention to Beatriz who is from the smile services dept, I couldn't ask for more, I had arranged a special treat for my GF and Beatriz arranged everything to perfection and more, we both are truly thank you to what you did for us, it really did make our holiday very special. Overall a great place to stay and would defo return.
