We had a week away with the family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The food and location was very good and so much to do and everything so close such as the shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel really clean and most staff were really helpful! Definitely worth the money and will be returning!
Stayed from 9th august to 16th august 2017. I read the reviews of the hotel day before we flew out to Ibiza, was a little apprehensive of the hotel, especially after reading some negative reviews. However, i can't fault it. It was wonderful! We stayed in mar amantis 2 with husband and two children, 5 and 1 years. My mum was in mar amantis 1, all of us was all inclusive. Room was clean, maids came everyday and we had clean towels, sheets etc. The restaurant was located in mar amantis 1 and the food was lovely, however the only thing I want to say is they need some variety for children in the restaurant too. Even though there was a snack bar in mar amantis 2, I found I was getting the children food there and then we would then go over to mar amantis 1 for our food, so would have been nice to eat altogether as children can be fussy when eating abroad. We never went to the pool In mar amantis 1, but it looked nice. We always went to mar amantis 2 pool area and found this very family friendly. Kids club workers were brilliant with the children and there was activities for everyone during the day. All staff were friendly and welcoming, no problems at all. Location of the hotel is great, best of both worlds. Ideal for family's and young groups of people. Had no problems with young groups being loud at all. A few bars by the hotel: Panffers and urban lounge Ibiza are brilliant, children welcome there. It has been a great holiday at the mar amantis hotel and we would definetly stop there again. Lovely hotel! Thanks for a great holiday.
I was a little worried about staying at this hotel but we had a fantastic week here. We traveled as a family of five and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were pretty basic but were clean and spacious enough. We stayed in Mar Amantis 1 which had a lovely view over the bay. Food was ok with a different theme each day, some days were better than others but I guess that is down to personal taste. Staff were mainly friendly and helpful. It is about a 25 minute walk to the busy San Antonio which suited us fine or you could jump on the water taxi from the hotel for 2 euro each. There are bars and restaurants within a minute walk of the hotel but on a smaller quieter scale to San Antonio. I would class this as a good 3* hotel in a good location that is just lacking a fridge and kettle in the room. The room you are allocated could also make a big difference to your stay.
Stayed at this hotel from the 5th of August for 7 days.Having read some negative reviews I felt it only fair to post a balanced review on what I found to be a lovely hotel.Check in was done quickly and in a friendly way and we told our stay would be in the number 2 hotel across the road from number 1.The room was slightly dated but very clean and had everything we needed.I found that the food quality was as good as I have had in any 3 star hotel and really cant understand peoples comments about the lack of choice. The breakfast was just wonderful and drinks at the bar were fine but as always in the small plastic glasses.I found most of the staff very helpful and friendly especially the bar staff in hotel 2 bar who worked hard but were great. The ones who worked the bar in hotel bar 1 could learn a lot from the ones in hotel 2 as cracking a smile or basic grunt seemed beyond them. The pool area in hotel 2 were great and there was no need to put towels down early as always sunbeds. The entertainment guy worked so hard all day long and was fun and friendly even if you didn't join in.On the issue of family friendly we saw no problems the week we were saying and any groups of lads or girls behaved really well.We had issues with noise one night and this was with some Spainish guests who were loud in the corridor and knocked on our room in error. All in all we enjoyed my stay extremely and would return. Its a great location with the nearby ferry to San Antonio and other boat tours. There are beaches close by but beware that some Danish tourists had a bag stolen when we were on the beach one day.Their phone, money and belongings vanished in seconds.we had a few drinks in the Ibiza urban lounge bar just down the road if you like a livelier type bar in the bay area its pretty good.
Stayed here for 1 week all inclusive with my partner 22-29 July we paid £1370 for a standard room in Mar amantis 2. Our view was of the road over the main entrance - we didn't sit out on balcony as wasn't pleasant view. I did email the hotel requesting a sea view & to be in Mar amantis 1 but I didn't receive a reply or get my request. Air con: worked great! Shower over bath was really nice and powerful. Got 3 toiletries on day 1 & maid cleaned everyday leaving new toilet rolls & clean towels. Beach towels: We put down a deposit for which was returned on our last day. It costs €1 to renew each of your beach towels each day if you want clean ones. Room safe: cost another deposit and €2 or €3 a day. The holiday tax cost approx the same, payable immediately on arrival. Taxi transfer: Cost €30 each way & took 10 mins so well worth it. Drinks: Very good variety of all drinks.. the soft drinks I believe were the real deal like Pepsi.... very cold & refreshing. They did 2 slush puppie flavours, milkshake, juices & ice cold water. The beer was San Miguel which tasted like real thing. The cocktail list was great quite a few to choose from, maybe 10. Also things like Bailey's, Tia Maria, tequila etc all local brands of course. Drinks self service in restaurant only, also tea coffee hot chocolate machine in there & at bars too. ALL DRINKS SERVED IN PLASTIC CUPS ONLY EVEN AT NIGHT TIME! I totally agree with this for daytime poolside drinks for saftey reasons but come on not at night too! We are adults & quite capable of drinking from a glass in the evening. Everyone knows wine/beer/cocktails taste better served in a glass. The only time you can get a glass (wine glass only) is in restaurant for your wine which is self service. So they do have them in hotel just not at any of the bars! Restaurant in Mar 1: Very nice views looking out to sea if you choose to sit that side, we always did. Self service drinks only. Outdoor area for eating by pool too but not many tables out there & quite hot with no air con in sunshine! Food: Breakfast: was our favourite meal.. full English & continental available. My only disappointment were the sausages were awful! really cheap and mushy inside so we had the Frankfurter type instead. Everyone around us always left their sausages on plate too so it definitely wasn't just us being fussy! Lunch: was very busy! On day 1 I had paella this was the only time they served it all week, was very nice. Usual buffet stuff nothing got me excited we preferred the snack bar food. This was only served in Mar 2 though, ordered at bar and cooked fresh. Much nicer than restaurant food as chips etc hot & crispy instead of only just warm. The burgers were delicious! snack bar closed 6.30pm which is great a lot later than most I've been to. Dinner: again didn't excite us & we never looked forward it... same as lunch really. Best meal we had was the roast beef but it didn't come with roasties just mash or chips & no veg apart from a courgette mix. Puddings: Were not great and little choice so I used to get an ice cream outside of restaurant behind bar. Icecreams: 2 types either a magnum or cornetto local brands of course but just as nice as real thing. Help yourself to as many as you like... brilliant :) Pools: We used to alternate between the 2 hotel pools which gave us best of both worlds. Both have their good points and provided a different type of day which worked well for us. The views of the bay from Mar 1 pool are simply breathtaking. The bar staff at Mar 1 pool bar will only serve you when they've finished chatting! I feel very strongly that smoking should NOT be permitted around the sunbeds as they are very close to one another and people blowing smoke in my face whilst I'm sunbathing is really unpleasant and quite rude! There's needs to a smoking only area around the pools. At Mar 2 hotel the pool area is much bigger and 1 day they had a foam machine party in the poolwhich the kids loved. There are 2 bars here 1 pool bar which doesn't do cocktails just beer & spirits. The other indoors bar does all drinks and has snack food next to it. The signs say to eat snacks indoors but many people were taking them out to their sunloungers and eating there. I didn't see a problem with this as long as everyone clears away after themselves. Entertaiment: Very disappointed that the outdoor stage was never used, it's indoor only. They need to get rid of outdoor stage and stop showing pics of it in holiday brochure as it will never be used again as too noisey for rooms overlooking it. Very misleading when booking. We went once to it but that was enough very boring, kids reps on stage doing silly games. We preferred to spend our evenings at Mar 1 drinking on the terrace taking in the beautiful views of the bay. The sunset from here is so lovely & looking out at night at the bright lights in San Antonio was very nice and relaxing. Water taxi: Right outside hotel you can go across to San Antonio every 30 mins costs €3 each last boat back 12 midnight. Also lots of other boat trips leaving from here just pay as you get on to the man sitting by signs. We did a boat trip to the aquarium/caves it was €14 each lasted about 2 hours & was able to swim in sea from boat. They handed out a drink & crisps very nice people on boat. One night we walked around the bay to San Antonio which is a lovely walk.. took us 30 mins each way. We walked to Mambo cafè where we watched the famous sunset from the beach. Such a great atmosphere & chilled vibe really recommend going over there. Gets busy once dark comes and the djs start doing there thing. We enjoyed lots of bars like Linekers & Irish bars etc drinks slightly cheaper than home. Nice fruity ciders on tap for about €3.30 pint, which no all inclusive hotel seem to do including the Mar. Beach: Right next to hotel so 1 min walk nice sand and very warm sea so a swim is a must. Lots of water sports from here and sunbeds if you want them. If you turn left on the beach and follow it round for 10 mins you come to reggae reggae beach - chilled out tunes & cocktails/beers in afternoon, sunbeds here €8 each. Nightlife: The hotel is smack bang in middle of the San Antonio Bay strip. Turn left or right for many bars, restaurants, shops & takeaways. They're literally opposite the hotel and all around so no need to venture far or over to the west end if you don't want to. Best thing about this hotel is it's location, you are a stone's throw from everything you need for a fantastic holiday. Flight was only just over 2 hours away from London & the weather was gorgeous 95% of our week. Mosquitos: Don't think there were any, we both never got bitten once! Quite rare for us when we go on holiday. Can highly recommend this hotel & Ibiza we had the best holiday!
me and my wife and friends stayed for a week at the beginning of august, dont understand the negative comments,we had a fantastic time.the hotel is in a great position, the rooms were kept very clean and the staff were all very friendly, the food was ok but not a lot of choice, there was a bit of noise at night night but nothing over the top,all in all well worth the money.steve, lisa gaz sarah.
Location is not too bad and the pool areas are good for the grade of hotel . Food was a little hit and miss but the bar staff were good if a little clumsy lots of spilt drinks etc our main issue was the late night /early morning noise one morning we were woken up by a girl screaming and shouting and trying to kick down a bedroom door this continued for some time and caused us as a family distress on almost every other night there was also a lot if noise from returning guests. Now we are aware we stayed in a lively resort and people are there for fun and have no problem with that at all. We just think that there should be mention of this in the brochure or online so families can make an informed choice . The mini disco was apparently on at 17.30 but we never made.it as it was way too early, we were all still in the pool. However the foam party was amazing and it was so easy to get a water taxi across the bay. We would not come back as the hotel is not family friendly
Not a bad hotel, foods ok, better than some we have stayed in. Rooms are typical Spanish hotel rooms. But acceptable, and clean. Air con works ok, and you can leave it on when you lock the room. Staff generally friendly, apart from a run in with the guy who scans your tickets in for the dining room. I went in to get some lunch and un beknown to me had followed me in to the hot plate and the first thing I knew was when he was pulling my shorts saying wet wet out out , my shorts were more dry then damp, but fair enough rules are rules but it was the way he become aggressive following me out of the dining room raising his voice, when I told him to basically shut up, he knocked my arm ! The receptionist saw this and I made a complaint about his aggressive behaviour He has little man syndrome and is a tad over zealous Water sports plenty and well worth it,
We have just returned from a family holiday and I feel compelled to write this review after reading the negative comments from people who have stayed there and have slated it yet want to return the following year despite feeling ripped off! This is my first review on trip advisor. I have stayed at all inclusive hotels 4* and 5* and this was our first stay at a 3*. We chose the location due to the fact our 21 and 18 yr old were travelling with us and we wanted a location that provided a variety of sightseeing and activities for the whole family. When we arrived we were placed in Mar Amantis 2 . Yes, my first impression was the room was rather dated however how much time do you actually spend in your bedroom on holiday? The A/C worked perfectly in our room and our children's,also it stayed on when you went out.In many hotels it goes off when you leave the room. It was lovely to return to a cool room The rooms were spotless and the maids came daily and changed the towels, cleaned and made the beds and provided further toiletries on request. I also found the beds really comfortable and slept very well and was never woken up by noise. I never had a problem securing 4 sunbeds and unlike some resorts I did not need to put towels down before 9.00am. We stayed at Mar Amantis 1 during the day as the sunbeds around the pool overlooked the bay. There was always something to watch and many boats coming and going all day.The water taxi was located right outside the hotel and we were able to do all trips from here of which there are many. You can go in the water taxi across the bay or go to several beaches or book many different cruises. The water sports were located right next to the hotel were you could water-ski, go wake-boarding or go on any number of inflatables. There is a small beach next door with sunbeds to hire, not the prettiest but then you are just outside San Antonio. The pool was clean and the water was checked on a daily basis. The staff working on the bar were extremely polite and cheerful despite serving a huge number of drinks throughout the day. We never had a problem getting 2 drinks each and there was always a cocktail of the day in addition to an extensive drinks menu including cocktails. They also served canapes most days such as smoked salmon/soft cheese. The chefs who worked in the restaurant took extreme pride in the food they served and I can honestly say I found the choice excellent especially for a 3 star hotel. I enjoy fish and was able to enjoy salmon, fresh tuna, sea bass, sword fish amongst others. The salad was varied and there was always a good choice of meat. There was fresh steak cooked one day, lamb steaks another. They even had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding one day. There was always fresh fruit available and at least 8/9 choices of dessert. It was all buffet style and you did have to help yourself to drinks such as wine or beer it was not served but we were quite happy with this. As I live with an ex chef if he was impressed it must have been good. The lovely gentleman on the door was very welcoming and charming and always chatted to you. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. We booked with Jet 2 and the rep was available 6 days per week and also very friendly. There was a saxophonist playing one night and he was very good. Most of the entertainment in the evening however was at Mar Amantis 2 and we preferred to stay and have drinks on the terrace at Mar Amantis 1. There were a lot of bars surrounding the area and lots to do in the evening if you wanted to. The bar shuts at 11;00pm in the evening. All in all this hotel offers excellent value for money and all the staff work very hard to try and ensure you have a great stay. For a 3 * it offers excellent value for money the only drawback being some of the dated rooms. Please do not take notice of all the negative reviews.
this will be the fourth visit to this hotel and we could not fault it if we wanted to, each stay has been a great stay welcoming friendly caring staff who go out of their way to make sure your holiday stay is a great one,the food is good always something different ..beds changed rooms cleaned fresh towels plenty to do lovely location beach front (depending which hotel you stay in)we have stayed in both sides and never had a problem yes some noise but isn't that what holidays are all about if you want peaceful and 5star then don't go to Ibiza san ...to many people put negative comments about this hotel which is so unfair when all staff go totally out of their way..
