Very happy with hotel and staff. near town centre about 15-20min walk. Beaches with a lot of quiet coves. Food was excellent, (children's corner for food would be beneficial) service in restaurant was very good (Lorenta was always very cheerful and would always say hi) 24hr guard on duty (Alex very cheerful and helpful) entertainment for kids was very good (Evan and Cicellia were fantastic with the kids). We would recommend to stay here and we would return.
The room was good, beds comfortable and room service daily was very good. Meals were well presented and good quality, good choices meant something to eat for everyone. Bar staff very friendly and gave a good service. Only complaint was we paid 20 euro for Wi-Fi but found it to be useless unless in the foyer and despite several complaints to the guys on reception the responses were not helpful.
Whilst the hotel was clean overall, our room was tired to say the least . Bathroom very poor ,lots of patching up done ,cracked tiles, taps covered in lime scale !!, Double room booked ,which was two small single beds put together ,had to ask for pillows as only one provided .outlook over dustbin collection area & part pool ,resulting in 4.30 am wake when bins collected .food average although plenty of it,bit of a scramble in the dining room in general .but have to compliment all staff as all helpful & friendly .good location but needs bedroom upgrades .
Stayed for one week - all inclusive. Overall would not go back to this hotel or the resort area. Biggest annoyance was a request was made for a low floor as had two young children and was put on the fifth floor. also the requested cot was not in the room when we arrived and had to remind them to add this to the room. also the key card had not been activated for the room and it failed at least three other occasions where it had to get it reactivated - a real pain when you are having to come and go with five floors and two young children. another pain (not the hotels fault) a dog barked constantly every night between 4 am and 6 am and woke either myself or other members of the family most nights. Good points - * Restaurant is nice and deals well with the volume of people - reasonably good selection of foods. * Rooms are clean and tidy and there is a TV with four British channels. * Pool area had plenty of beds and pool is a good size. various daytime activities around the pool. * Most of the staff are pleasant * Maid service was daily. * Branded beer available (San Miguel) (other alcohol was unheard of brands and often vile) Bad Points - * Pool Bar food is not very nice - deep fried & processed. Poorly staffed and often 8 or 10 people in a Q to get a drink. don't understand why the soft drink machines are not self service like in the restaurant? * indoor bar - insufficient seating for the entertainment. the pool bar was often closed at night and the indoor area packed. There is an 'adult' only section with and pool which is no good for people with a family looking for somewhere to sit. * No bottled water available as part of all inclusive. * No free wifi * No free safe. * some of the lights in the room did not work.
Me and the family just come back from a week at the bergantin. We had a fantastic holiday and would advise anybody to stay there. We went all inclusive and the food and drinks was spot on. Would love to go back there next year and already looking to do so. 😁
This hotel.should be at least a 4. Just back after spending a week there with my husband and 2 young children. Plenty to do with the kids and the entertainment team are great. Great food and hotel very clean.
Myself and 2 friends stopped here on a short lads break for 3 nights. Hotel is immaculately clean and staff are very very helpful and friendly. We did all inclusive and the food wasn’t bad most nights with an ok selection and again staff in dining hall excellent. Breakfast tomes are challenging as it’s finished strictly at 10am. Throughout our stay there were ground staff doing maintenance to the hotel. A very nice adults only pool area, but not very big and surrounded by palm trees so it a great sun trap. The main pool which is family friendly is huge and staff have activities to keep everyone entertained. We wasn’t overly impressed with location of hotel as there wasn’t loads of bars or shops near by. Very short walk to a little pebbly beach in front of a nice restaurant. Quite part of the island you didn’t hear much noise late at night. I would agree with reviews about everything is extra WiFi kettle safe etc so be mindful. A criticism we would have was the room was tiny for 3 adults, and the one bed was on wooden planks on the floor which would wasn’t impressed. Hotel is very dated in decor but no more than other places we have stopped in Spain. Would stop again but wouldn’t rush back.
I booked this hotel on the back of good tripadvisor ratings, what a disappointment. This hotel is a 2* at best, locked in the 1970’s with its woodchip wallpaper and canary yellow paint. It appears everything costs extra here. To change your beach towel, you have to pay, to use the safe in your room, it’s 3 Euro’s a day plus 10 Euro deposit. The hotel doesn’t have a beachfront location, although it’s not far and you do have access to the beach in front of the sa flama restaurant, although it’s small, rocky and dirty. I wouldn’t waste your time. The cuisine at the hotel was generally poor, only having a live omelette station every other morning, meaning some days I skipped breakfast. The hotel is generally full of northerners, swearing and loud. There attitude is pile it high at dinner. However, to avoid this behaviour at the bar and around the pool I recommend upgrading to the premium wristband which allows access to the roof terrace sun beds and bar. Well worth the extra to avoid the masses. The room was lacking in basic amenities such as a fridge, hairdryer and kettle. The only consolation being it was generally clean. Overall the hotel was a big disappointment and I could not recommend it.
A number of friends had recommended the Bergantin so we booked for a short break to visit some friends and family - it was disappointing. The room was tired and dated though clean. The food variable with our first 2 days very disappointing but in fairness it did pick up after that. The all inclusive OK.but nothing special when compared to other hotels we had stayed in. The best thing about the Bergantin was the staff who were very friendly and very good all round. Overall disappointing given the recommendations.
Stayed in five star hotels that do not match up to the cleanliness and food quality of this hotel The room are a little dated but spotless all areas of the hotel were spotless. The food we had was wonderful we were very impressed with the choice. All inclusive drinks on tap and the San Miguel on tap was yummy had a great time will be back Thanks staff.
