I went back to Ibiza ten years on from when I first stayed at the Reco de Sol apartments. I timed it so that I would be there for the long weekend and therefore the bank holiday Monday meant that I could enjoy an extra day without using up any holiday but more importantly I could enjoy paella night again. Imagine my despair when I found out that Paella night had been moved to Thursday because it was getting more popular. Had I known in advance I'd have flown out weds to Sunday and used an extra days holiday (it would have been worth it!). Furthermore, when I asked where Walliron was, the new receptionist said that he had left in 2009 to become a David Walliams impressionist in the local bars and clubs. All in all I was deeply upset as I had made him a picture of a stack of water bottles that I painted myself and wanted to present it to him on Paella night! The wifi is free and the signal was strong, which eased my disappointment, and the rooms still good value at 99€. Mr. Adam Gibson
We really loved this hotel. Got a nice room facing the sea (also the clubs, but that didnt matter to us), the view was beautiful, big bathtub and good size of the room. The staff was very helpful! We had a lot of questions and they helped us with directions and recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Ibiza. The pool area was nice, mostly packed in the daytime, but we did go in the afternoon. You can order drinks from the bar and use the sun beds for free. The location of the hotel is perfect, only a short walk (10 min) to San Antonio Bay and only 5 min to the beach. We would stay here again!
Honestly the hotel is great for the money, I had a too to myself. Shower was fine, bed was OK and loads of space for clothes. Only flaw, was on the third day... Some people who were staying a rather large group brought down a massive speaker and had their own activities day going on, not asking if anyone else wanted to take part and playing foreign music which no one other than the self was happy listening too. There was about 30 of them, the first half an hour it was quite funny to watch but it ended up going on for a good 2 hours until we even mentioned it as we thought it was taking the piss. Other than that one moment, everything was great, staff was cool.. Nothing to worry about.
We had 4 apartments in this hotel for 18 of us. The penthouse apartment was very spacious with 2 bathrooms which was great with 7 of us sharing. The other apartments lacked space once the sofa beds were out though. Great quiet location with the Ocean Beach Club just around the corner. Lovely pool area with bar, would definitely stay again.
Great location, situated right behind Ocean beach. Quiet enough that you can sleep by the pool during the day, but close enough to everything that you can walk. Room was a nice size for three people, and great view of the pool. Huge balcony which was a plus. Free wifi didn't work. Customer service by the hotel staff, particularly in reception, wasn't great. There was only ever one person there so often had to wait, and on one occasion we waited at least 5 minutes until the receptionist even acknowledged us, even though we were the only ones there! On check out, they accused us of drinking a bottle of water which we absolutely did not do, so we challenged and had to write out a note to explain that we didn't drink it... I would stay again, purely for location, but the staff definitely need to learn how to provide a good customer service.
I would have given this hotel 0 if I could, the staff here were very rude and unhelpful both at the hotel check in and around the pool area. Wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to others. Staff need to get some hospitality training to deal with people more politely. Breakfast was terrible, how anyone could ruin scrambled eggs quite as badly as they managed to is beyond me. Wifi is temperamental and the code seems to change every day!
Great location, but still quiet enough to get sleep when needed. Rooms were a good size, would be great if they all had balconys as the rooms without do get very warm. Within walking distance of all the main attractions and a spa at the end of the road.
Me and three mates stayed at Aparthotel Reco Des Sol for 5 nights in August. Like: - Proximity to the strip - Just a 10 minutes walk away to a varied set of bars which seemingly cater for everyone. (Would advise being very aware of your surroundings and possessions when there in the evening if drinking). - Location in general. 5 minutes walk from Hed Kandi! 5 minutes walk away from local convenience stores, supermarkets, souvenir shops and cafes, all which serve products at great prices. - 24/7 reception. - The pool! Clean, well maintained and regulated to a comfortable temperature. Decent size. Pool-side bar with lively music which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. - The room - Clean, comfy and spacious. Included a kitchen and microwave. - 40 minutes taxi ride from the Airport. Dislike: - The hot bathroom. Needs better ventilation. Also the sewage smell (though my understanding is that this is a problem all hotels in the region have which is outside their control). We found that keeping the bathroom door closed at all times helped to ensure the rest of the room did not smell. - The balcony. It was on a slight slope facing downwards and we had to step on it with caution to be on the safe side. - The key cards were very temperamental. We had to get them changed/renewed several times. This was a little irritating as it meant going backwards and forwards to reception. However, they were more than happy to solve this each time. Perhaps Worth Noting: - This hotel seemed to be popular amongst people in their 20s and 30s. Was a popular place for Hen and Stag Dos as well!
I stayed here at the beggining of June for a girly holiday. Three of us shared a one bed apartment. Two of us stayed for 9 nights in the twin room and our other friend joined us for 6 nights staying on the sofa bed in the lounge area. This was perfect for us. The actual apartment had a small kitchen area with a toaster, kettle & fridge, everything we needed to be able to self cater for drinking in, munchies and breakfast. The bathroom was fine with a change of towels every other day when the cleaners came in to tidy. Not located in the craziness of the West End but still full of life. Crawling distance from Ocean Beach and a lovely 15 minute walk around the bay to the West End, one eve consisted of a cocktail crawl around the bay to watch the Sunset by Mambo's and even that was a pleasant walk. Taxi from the West End was about 10EUR. I would recommend this accommodation, it's basic but perfect as a base and value for money.
I stayed here from the 12th to the 17th with my mate for the yearly Ibiza holiday it didn't start off well because we were down the west end on Sunday night and we both had our phones stolen so the holiday didn't start for us till Tuesday cuz on Monday we were sorting everything out with police and phoning but the hotel staff on the reception in the day were excellent very helpful and let us use the phone when needed . All the staff were very polite and smiled and always said hello the room was ok the view was of the car park at the side BUT u don't go to Ibiza for that pool was nice drinks were ok for price suppose it's the same price in all hotels I couldn't believe how much the bars in the bay have gone downhill as in its dead . in the day it's full but night comes and no ones there bn3 there were 6 people drinking ! . All in all the hotel was good I don't no why u had bad reviews would definitely consider to come again and would definitely recommend 😊. WOULD YOU SAY A HUGE THANKYOU TO THE TWO BLOKES ON RECEPTION WITH BLACK HAIR - Matt wells
