I can say only positive things about this hotel. Amazing view from the rooms on the city, mountains and pool. 3 hot tubs, billiard room, tennis court ,gym, etc. You can spend there days without leaving the hotel, you have everything there to keep you entertained. Breakfast is delicious with many options. The staff is exceptional, they just feel genuinely kind and eager to help the guests. They probably need refurbishment of them rooms though in the next few years, if they want to stay the best hotel in Ibague. The AC in the room is was a bit old and therefore loud.

The breakfast buffet is great. Lots of fruits and juices. Rooms are ok showers are a little hard to adjust the warm water so I take cold showers no surprises. If you are a tourist you don't pay IVA. You just have to show entrance stamp and country of residence ID if you have a Colombian passport.

I’ve been visiting this hotel now for the 3th time in one year and i can tell there is no better hotel here in Ibague then Hotel Estelar Altamira. The people are so friendly, is very clean and the service is one of the best service i got! Especially the service from the reception: John, Linda, Luz and Yesica. The workers: Felipe, Leonardo, Edixon and Tatiana. I recommend this as number 1 in all Ibague. colombia.

I am Colombian of orgin, have col ID and col passport. When i wanted to check out they told me I had to show my dutch id because i live in the netherlands. He said its by law. I know its not by law, i am always only traveling with my col passport and ID. this felt like discrimination. I am colombian, i never had this questions before. Very bad!!

The Estelar is supposed to guarantee good customer service, and although I am a frequent traveller at that particular property, I was just treated like some dumb tourist they could squeeze. I would like to start by saying I am bilingual, so none of this was a language problem. There was no do not disturb sign and none was provided although I asked several times. We were awoken 3 times during a weekend stay by the staff. The room door had paint missing on the outside, and the security chain setup on the inside had screws loose. Security issue. Room service was slow. We requested a bottle opener 1x, and ice another time, and each time it took about an hour. Move over we were told there was only one bottle opener on the property. They have two restaurants and I would guess about 200 rooms. Imagine if we had actually ordered food! How long would that have taken? I mistakenly made the reservation for only 1 person (my bad). On the booking site I used, the 2nd person would have cost $4 per night. At check-in, it $12 per night. However, they showed no flexibility at all. When I asked for a discount, showing my reservation included breakfast for 2, I was told that meant breakfast for 2 days, not for 2 people. Since when? Breakfast for 2 means breakfast for 2 people, always and forever. The girl at the front desk just wanted to tell me anything to make me go away. There was a dispute over the taxes at check-out. You have to pay a VAT if you stay in the country for 90+ days. At check-in, I used my passport card to check in, so I didn't show my entry stamp. At check-out, I was presented with a bill including the tax. OK, I had a scanned copy of my passport & entry stamp on my computer to prove I was under 90 days, but then they switched tactics. The 2nd guest in my room was a Colombian national, so I would have to pay. In previous stays, we never had to pay, as long as the room was in the foreigners name and the foreigner paid. They told me that wasn't true, that if there was a Colombian national in the room, I would have always paid the tax - I was remembering wrong. Or if I hadn't, then it was because I was staying by myself. I told them to pull my bills from there computer to look at my past stays (I am in their system). I have only ever stayed at that hotel with my Colombian national boyfriend! (Why the hell else am I in Ibague?) Switch tactics again - The policy has changed, and now I have to pay. I should have refused and told them to call the police, but I am not that much of a jerk.

Its not a fancy place but the rooms are clean and spacious. It could use a little updating though. Amenities are impressive: huge pool, 3 hot tubs, fitness center, tennis courts and a game room so its great for families.

Just amazing! Room service is really good, the pool is clean and beautiful, the room was comfortable and nice. We had an amazing time at the hotel and really enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend it, it's definitely the nicest hotel in Ibagué in my opinion.

This hotel is nice. I would stay there again. The rooms were nice, not amazing but still, no problems. The breakfast was really good. The pool was awesome. My wife loves hotel pools for some reason and this one was great for her. Only negative for me was that the food and drinks were overpriced.

This hotel looks nice on their website. Hotel Grounds are quite nice. Rooms are terrible. We have switched two rooms already and 2 days later ate still waiting to be moved to a third room. Bed Matress is the worst. Restaurant food is not worth it. They seem to try too hard on intl cuisine instead of focusing on their native foods. Customer Service is not that attentive. Airconditioners are of insane designs. Vents do not move. Stuck in one position and air blown on bed causin one side of bed to be hit with a blast all night.

Excellent hotel. Great room on upper floor. Lovely pool attendant who got us what we needed when we arrived on first night with no one around the pool area. We had two great dinners with beers at a good price. Breakfast had loads of choice even when we were down a little before it was due to start. All staff we met were really helpful
