The view from the balcony was great but the studio apartment was smal and worn. One of the shower doors was missing and the whole bathroom was wet after taking a shower. I had an argument with the landlady abot paying with card as she wanted cash. The apartment seemed close to the town and the beach but there are lot of stairs! Would not choose to stay there again.
We stayed just for 1 night, lots of things broken in our room - dishwasher, door hinges etc. The toilet was beyond filth at the bottom, there was no plug for the bath so couldn't use it. The whole apartment had this over perfumed smell that made me feel sick. We both felt it was prob likely she doesn't change the sheets often either. I gave it 2 stars as it was just basic and done what we needed and the view was beautiful, however the walk to the apartment was a nightmare soooo many hills and steps, I had been under the impression it was right beside town and because my mother is disabled I thought it would be easy to get to I was wrong.
LOVED the view from our room, it overlooked the bay and town. We called the owner when we landed on the ferry from Split she came and picked us up. It is close to a bakery for morning treats, a bit of a walk to a grocery store but not bad. Easy walk down stairs to the main town and beaches. Very friendly and helpful owners! I will be back!
I am just back from a 7 day stay at Apartmeni Kresic along with 2 of my friends. We had been looking forward to going to Hvar as we had heard great things about the place through friends and family. When we arrived to the island of Hvar, in order to find the Apartmeni Kresic we had to literally walk up several hills in 30 degree heat to find it. It says on their advertisement that it is just a 10 min walk from the town. Well i can assure you that is a lie. Upon arrival to the accommodation the landlady was nowhere to be seen. We knocked on the door and rang the bell several times and were made wait around in the blistering heat. Finally when she did arrive she brought us up to our room and showed us around. She stayed in the room for over 30 mins explaining all the rules which included : not being allowed on our balcony after 11 pm, no talking after 11 pm, no walking around( go to the toilet, get changed etc) after 11 pm. There was so many RULES RULES RULES. As the week went on she would enter the room at will, even if we were getting changed, she had no manners. She was unpleasant, nasty and disgusting. She entered our room while we were out on several occasions. We actually witnessed her doing this. She would wait at the top of the apartment building and once she saw we had left she would literally run into our room. We saw this with our own eyes. I strongly advise you not to stay here. The location is terrible and the landlady is utterly deplorable.
Having travelled around the world and visited every country in Europe I have never felt the need to complain about a property before but this really was the worst experience. The location and apartment were not great but the landlord was unbelievably rude. First off, as soon as we arrived she was extremely unpleasant; shouting at us and threatening eviction for a whole number of reasons. I put this down to translation/cultural differences. However, her behaviour only grew worse. The second day my friend and I were cooking in the kitchen of our apartment when she burst in. Shouting at the top of her voice she said we could be evicted or fined for not asking permission to use the kitchen (in our own apartment!). She then followed this up by sayign she would check the room later that night for any mess. If it was not tidied we would again be evicted. The last incident is quite hard to believe. One evening we were walking back with friends who happened to stay in the hotel opposite. As we walk past our hotel the landlord was waiting on the balcony of the apartments. She ran down to confront us accusing us of bringing outside guests to our room. We had done no such thing, when we explained the situation she called us liars and then SPAT in the direction our our friends. After the landlord realised she was in the wrong we asked for an apology but was told if there was a 'problem' we could pack our bags and leave. A great holiday was thoroughly ruined. The above are only a couple of the problems we encountered. Avoid
Never known such an intrusive host. It was like staying with your mum, and your mum being a horrible person. Waiting up for you every morning and coming in to the apartment as she pleases = won't be staying here again.
To sum up what may seem a negative review - the apartment was clean and livable with a great view of the sea. Was it the best room i've ever stayed in - no. Would i sleep here again if i had to - yes. On arrival it is not clear where to go. The family do live at the apartments, but right at the bottom. You'll need to walk down the outside steps to get down to their floor where there is a doorbell. When greeted by the owner she seemed nice enough. We stayed in a double room with terrace. On booking this room it stated that it came with aircon - this is not true. The room was quite small, smaller than most of the professional photos show. In it there was a fridge and wifi which was useful, no aircon or fans, though as the doors onto the terrace have outdoor shutters you can have the inner doors open to get a breeze. Although small, the room was fairly clean, the mattress was clean and the bed was comfy to sleep on. The bathroom was also clean and had quite a modern shower unit. The shelves in the room haven't been dusted for a while (a minor point). The bathroom is attached to the next rooms bathroom (double no terrace) - with air vents from that bathroom into ours, we could hear people in the next room. Also the water pressure drops when both rooms have a shower! The terrace is also shared with the other neighbour which is the single room. The terrace for this room is on the side of the building, you still get a view of the sea though. It is worth staying in an apartment slightly up from the town centre in order to get a sea view. There was a small table and two chairs on the terrace along with a washing line which was useful. We got fresh towels once in our weeks stay..but did have to ask for more toilet roll. The family do not enter your room whilst you are staying there. This is both a blessing and an annoyance. Great for privacy but it means there is no cleaning whilst you're there and you need to take your own bins out. Spare toilet roll was left outside in the hall for people to obtain. The wifi worked well and we had a great nights sleep each night - mainly due to having quiet neighbours. For a weeks stay the apartment was fine as we were out most of the time.
We stumbled upon this place by mistake, having originally walked out of previously booked accommodation in Hvar due to its cramped accommodation and poor view. Dara the landlady could not have been more helpful or hospitable and the sea facing, front apartment on the top floor offered the most incredible view of Hvar town, the sea and the neighbouring islands. Our apartment was surprisingly spacious and very well equipped, and after the hustle and bustle of Hvar town, the sofas on the ENORMOUS, peaceful terrace are an absolute joy to return to. Having read some earlier comments about the noise from other rooms, I guess we may just have been fortunate, as we could almost hear a pin drop during our two night stay. Unfortunately, the top floor roof was only available for one night (due to a previous cancellation) and we spent our second night in a ground floor room - again with a large terrace. However, this room felt more like the owner's actual home as it was equipped with lots of personal items and this made us feel a little uncomfortable. Furthermore, although the balcony is south facing and has a lovely view, because the terrace is lower down and has a roof, none of the sunlight enters the flat and it therefore feels quite gloomy inside. Had we been able to remain in the top floor apartment for the remainder of our 5 nights, we would have jumped at the chance of booking this amazing room, but sadly, the lower room is quite a different proposition entirely. If you are considering staying here and you have the chance of renting the top floor apartment, I would say DO IT. You will not be disappointed. It's truly jaw-dropping. And, it's a lovely little wander down some quiet little backstreets into town.
The service was awful. To start, she was no where to be seen upon check out, even though she insisted we must be out of the room before 10am, we rung the door bell so many times but had to wait until half hour later when someone went to get in the car. She then made us walk in torrential down pour to withdraw money so we could pay her (a five minute drive for her, a 15 minute walk one way up hill for us). She was leaving to take someone to the ferry port and had plenty of spots in the car, but insisted even though she was going that way that to ride with her we must pay a certain amount of euros which was triple what a bus fare would cost. She then proceeded to get cranky when we asked if she could call us a taxi to the bus station so we could catch a bus. We are two young travellers who need to save our pennies, we can't afford to pay a copious amount of money to travel in the same direction she was already going. The wifi sucked and we weren't once given fresh towels or bedding either. The walls are very thin and we had a group of very large girls singing at the top of their lungs until late at night. I wouldn't say a couple should stay here, it really isn't very romantic. You also get woken up a lot when people stumble into their rooms early hours of the morning. All in all the stay was not pleasant and we will not be recommending this place to anyone.
Myself and my girlfriend stayed in the 3 person room because we wanted the view and kitchen. It's about a 7 min uphill walk from the town which is not too bad, and it's quiet enough area. Mini mart just 5 min walk away, with supermarket not much longer. We'd a noisey family staying in the other rooms that woke us early each morning but that wasn't Kresic's fault. One negative was that room wasn't en suite, but balcony and the view were brilliant. Kitchen was great as well and apt was very spacious. Thumbs up
