Once again I have come to the steigenberger-al-dau-beach.hotel second year running. Great to see alaa and karim in the lobby bar always service with a smile nothing to much trouble always helpful great atmosphere and excellent service from them both

All staff are very friendly. Excellent Kids area and also the Aqua is fantastic. Food is perfect especially at [Fish day]. There's an option to take your meal at restaurant in front of sea instead of Open buffet. There's a pool with heater plus free GYM. There's a fantastic celebration at dinner Time [for adults/Kids].

From the moment we arrived, this hotel far exceeded our expections. The staff are so attentive, the food amazing, pool and bars are all fantastic, my husband and son enjoyed the golf, which is included in the cost. The buffet was lovely, the wine and beers superb. The rooms spacious and spotless. The waiters around the pool and beach cannot do enough for you and I must mention the lady that cooked us beautiful omelettes every morning who was so smiley and kind. I did not want to leave :) we will be visiting again very soon.

Again with my family to our beloved Steignberger AL Dau Hotel. Stayed from 3/1/2018 till 8/1/2018 . Magnificent landscape , gardens , pools , jogging track, Golf , beach , Gym and many other activities - too many to be listed in one review. Fabulous spacious rooms with all the luxurious facilities at the tips of your fingers. Smiling faces in every location ready to assist and to make you feel like a royal guest. All inclusive offer which makes you and your family feel the real generosity every where (i.e. Any food/beverages you order are already paid for). a dedicated top quality management that places guest satisfaction as a top priority. Extraordinary food and meals options which satisfy all tastes . Special thanks to the front desk personnel MR Mayar and MR Mina who made our check in and out a true joy . Heart felt appreciation for MR Ehab Hafz and Mohamed Hamdy in Alexander and Tanga restaurants for their unprecedented efforts in preparing and serving our meals. The only sad point in the whole experience was that we had to go home again .

I didn't like my first day in this resort: - after the pool i tried to take a shower in my room the sewer spelled out and the room became filled with water and I waited 75 minutes until they fixed it.

You are made to feel very special at this hotel right from arriving at the main doors. The hotel lobby is expansive and has a very cosmopolitan feel to it. Quality of food was exceptional and at the New Year’s Eve gala dinner the display, quality and variety of foods was exceptional. The food hygiene manager was very evident making sure levels of cleanliness and hygiene were treated with the utmost importance. All the staff are friendly and courteous without going over the top. There are many unsung heroes at this hotel who you do not see or meet but all go towards providing a very high quality of service. Nothing is too much of a problem and even found myself talking to the hotel manager, mr Huth, who was helpful, he and his staff certainly make every guest feel special and important.

We (Myself, my wife and our 6-year old daughter) traveled to Hurghada Steigenberger Al Dau Beach on the 29th of December 2017. Stayed for 3 nights in room 1345 including the new year's eve. In summary this hotel was the reason I decided to have vacations in Egypt from now on and it worth more every pound I paid. Indeed international standards for a five stars hotel. From the reservation to the checkout was perfect. The hotel staff are professional in every aspect. The facilities were indeed a perfect match for us. Heated pools, Aqua, kids' club with very interesting programs for kids to keep them entertained all the time and activities all day long. The buffets were delicious. Everything in this hotel was just right. I would like to thank the management and all the staff in this hotel, I can't mention specific people because they were all at the same great level of hospitality and professionalism. Only one request from the management, please keep up this extraordinary level of perfectness. The hotel is already in my vacation plan.

I flew to Hurghada and had low expectations, I'd read the glowing reviews, I'd seen the brochure and even had a good experience with Steigenberger in Dubai but it was still an all inclusive in Egypt. My last experience of Hurghada many years ago wasn't great at the, now defunct, Intercontinental. As we pulled up to the hotel I was impressed. Everything was finished, a lovely cobbled shopping boulevard and well manicured gardens. A warm welcome and an offer to sit down for check in with a greeting by the hotel manager. Am I back in Dubai? A welcome drink would say so. ROOM: I upgraded to a Junior Suite. We were allocated 1557 on the top floor and a quick escorted elevator ride from reception. In the bathroom the shower pressure was poor, there is only a rain-style head with no detachable hose. On two occasions the water stopped completely - I assume as it was peak time with the hotel at 95% occupancy. The quality of the products in the bathroom is also much to be desired; think washing up liquid and the absence of conditioner is odd at this hotel level. I did mention this to a staff member who suggested they are looking at changing the products in the near future. The large television in the room is great and the selection of channels fantastic. The mini bar was complimentary and always kept well stocked. The housekeeping was inconsistent. On three occasions we ran out of toilet paper, twice the towels were not restocked and quite a few towels were dirty. All of these were put right within 20mins however. The size and quality of the bath towels could also be improved at this level. The view from the balcony was breath-taking and the two loungers a nice touch. The first three nights we had canapes delivered before dinner, but this stopped without warning. There was also a broken lazy boy chair with stains on the arm in the room, far from the quality of furniture in the lobby areas. I would probably just go for a standard room next time. POOL AREA The pool area is huge and well designed. A small salt water heated pool is at the top, flowing from the indoor spa area. This is a popular area during the winter and where the water activities take place. There was never an issue with loungers, even with the high occupancy of the hotel. Plenty of space and unlimited towels whenever you required. Friendly pool service throughout the day with even friendlier treats delivered - fruit, tea and sunglasses all delivered with a smile. The main pool isn't heated so was only frequented by a brave few and the lazy river by tougher souls. There was the occasional sales pitch, but it was very unobtrusive and they took a 'no thank you' well and moved onto the next lounger. RESTAURANTS Most all inclusive hotels restrict you to the buffet for most most meals. Not here at the Steigenberger, you get to eat at a huge range of restaurants with some incredible service. In the daytime we alternated between the Bwala Pool Bar and Grill by the main pool and Tanga on the beach. The latter has a buffet which serves probably one of the best chicken Shwarmas I've ever eaten, along with a great range of pizzas, burgers and daily specials with a great view of the sea. The Bwala has a menu with grill items and some really tasty salads, all served with a view of the pool. For dinner we ate in the buffet on the first night, which has a huge range of food and live cooking stations. It's all good quality and beautifully presented but it was our only visit due to the fantastic service in the service restaurants. On our second night we ate at the Tanga restaurant on the beach which transforms into a lebanese. Fantastic service, beautiful meze, tender BBQ chicken perfectly seasoned and also a special birthday cake compete with three rounds of different language singing to complete the night. We came back here on the last night and it was just as fantastic. Third night was the much hyped Alexander's and this was our biggest disappointment. The restaurant has a bright ambiance and Mexican style decor, not really fine dining. Couple this with overcooked beef and overdressed, under flavoured dishes it was a complete disaster. The staff did their upmost to rectify the situation but even the replacement dishes were terrible. Next up was the Noodle Bar, this is a small and intimate venue. Sitting on a stool in front of a talented team of wok chefs you are treated to some great dishes inspired by China and some even better service. We also went for a visit to the Teppenyaki. This was really good fun as we had a good crowd on the table who were up for clapping and joining in. Great service from the waiters here too, always keeping drinks topped up. The chicken was a little too sweet for my palette, but the entertainment made this a great meal out. BARS & ENTERTAINMENT All bars serve the same menu of drinks, with the expected local spirits, wines and beers. If you are a beer drinker then the Heneiken is great, tastes just like expected in Europe and the other sprits tasted fine in the cocktails - things have come a long way in Egyptian alcohol brewing in the past few years. The wine was also very drinkable but I was a little sad to see the sparkling wine exlcuded from the all inclusive. We did get to sample it on the Manager's cocktail night and the New Year's Eve extravaganza - again pretty impressive taste. All the bar staff were very attentive and kept your drink topped up - along with generous helpings of crisps and nuts. The entertainment was great for background music, nothing that memorable but added a nice ambiance to the lobby. Which brings me to the biggest moan from the Brits - the smoking. Everyone smokes from guests to staff and whilst I would prefer one of the bars to be non smoking, the smell doesn't linger and they must have a good filtration system. SPA The thermal spa area was included in our rate, and we used it every day. A great salt water relaxation and jet pool and beautiful Turkish bath made for a relaxing end to each day. The staff here were particularly gracious and helpful. NEW YEARS EVE A special mention for this one. The hotel put on an amazing show for NYE, the huge ballroom was set out for a ball with beautifully laid tables and party items. A huge buffet was presented spanning six rooms with everything you could ever imagine - from sushi to beef tenderloin. It was some of the best food and entertainment I've ever had - all included in the hotel rate. I've put in a recommendation to my company that we look to plan our conference in this excellent facility. SUMMARY A large resort hotel on the edge of a beautiful sea. Yes there were some housekeeping issues and some of the service wasn't polished in as some five star hotels but pound for pound it's unbeatable - so much so we've already booked to come back at Easter - but we'll be bringing our own shampoo and conditioner!

Visited on 2 separate occasions in 2017 and will keep coming back. The main reason is that while the hotel, gardens, rooms, location and food are all great, the real key to this hotel is the staff. Everyone from the front desk, waiters, gardeners and bar staff are so nice that they make you feel part of the family as soon as you arrive. A special thanks goes to all of the staff at the Bwala Pool Bar who always provide exceptional service with a smile and a joke, especially Mena Magdy who always makes us smile every-time we visit. Finally, i must not forget the 2 lovely ladies that every morning cleaned our sunglasses, brought cold towels and fruit juice and of course a smile - these are the unsung heroes of the Steigenberger. Cant wait to go back.
